StanSP Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 Will we get another one this season? The last penalty we received was against Utd at home. I can think of about 3 we should have had (Hutton on Hammond, Vertonghen on Vardy, Vorm on Kramaric (cup) ) When will referees stop being dicks?
The Doctor Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 The first game after relegation is confirmed and it'll be an obvious not penalty, as if it were somehow a consolation that after refs cheating us out of 10 or so points, we finally got a dubious decision our way.
Foxhateram Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 I don't know when, wish we could bribe the refs like some teams must be? But when we do I think we should invade the pitch and celebrate like we've won the cup.
Guest Bilo Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 We're not allowed penalties since the United game.
Fox92 Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 Sunderland away. 88th minute. 0-1... And we've somehow stayed up...
LanguedocFox Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 After the "Vardy pen that wasn't" in the Man U game, the Referees' Union voted unanimously that (a) be wouldn't have another penalty unless one of our players was hit with a baseball bat when standing over the penalty spot, with the Ref less than two metres away; and (b) that if any of our players so much as breathed on an opposition forward in the penalty area, they would get a penalty. Seems eminently fair to some people.
MC Prussian Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 We're just not getting into these kind of dangerous positions in the opposing box when we attack. Or at least not often enough. And our team is playing it too fair and the amount of bookings received should support that notion - instead of going for a dive for example, they'd rather stand on their feet and play on. Who can blame them for that?

Kramaric at Man City where it was given outside the box as well.
ScouseFox Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 barnsley (a) early september. foul on vardy, missed by nugent. just like the good old days.
yorkie1999 Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 If it's not going to make any difference to staying up, may as well place the ball on the spot and boot it straight at the ref
StanSP Posted 22 March 2015 Author Posted 22 March 2015 Kramaric at Man City where it was given outside the box as well. Good shout.
AyewJoking Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 next one will be when we are mathematically down. we will also get the benefit of the doubt on free kicks, off sides, throw ins and fouls. And we will become prolific from corners.
shailen Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 I bet the next one we get will never be a penalty. Sod's law. Probably a dive from Mahrez in our own box, such is the standard of refereeing this season
Dan Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 QPR at home we'll get a horrible decision in our favour. I guarantee it'll happen once it means nothing.

LCCFox96 Posted 24 March 2015 Posted 24 March 2015 When we've been relegated most likely. It feels like we have used up all of our good fortune for the season when Vardy went down alongside Rafael on that fateful day in September. Some of the decisions that either haven't gone for us or been given to the opposition have been laughable. We should have run out 0-2 winners at Liverpool but for the referee and that decision to give Spurs a penalty at the weekend was a joke.
ozvaldo Posted 24 March 2015 Posted 24 March 2015 QPR at home. 96th minute. (the 4th official has only added 5 mins). Cambiasso dinks it down the middle of the net. Off comes his shirt revealing a tattoo on his chest of Nigel Pearson giving Filbert a head-lock. We win 2-1 and stay up on goal difference. QPR go down.
Foxmeister Posted 24 March 2015 Posted 24 March 2015 The refereeing this season has been a couple of pegs below their counterparts in WWE. I have never in 40 years of following football witnessed such consistently awful officiating. Just egos with whistles. I won't bother next season if (by some miracle) we stay up.
promised land Posted 24 March 2015 Posted 24 March 2015 If it's not going to make any difference to staying up, may as well place the ball on the spot and boot it straight at the ref Now that I'd pay good money to see, would he get booked for it though? Ref usually stands about square on to the pen spot doesn't he, so the ball isn't that far from him, a professional player should hit him then.
J.Lisemore Posted 24 March 2015 Posted 24 March 2015 After the United game, the chances of us getting another penalty from premier league refs was 0. I really do believe referees have had it in for us since that day.

I wouldn't be surprised if subconsciously they were being harsh on us to 'even up' that first penalty despite that it's been more than evened up by now.
