Happy Fox Posted 22 May 2014 Share Posted 22 May 2014 Leicester City are showing interest in Dutch goalscoring sensation Lars Veldwijk. The 6ft 5ins striker plays for Excelsior in Holland's second division but has grabbed the attention of scouts by scoring 30 goals in 38 games this season. The 22-year-old was close to joining Roda in January but ultimately Excelsior rejected the bids.Leicester are keen to bring in a target man after having a bid rejected for Brighton's Leonardo Ulloa, however, they will face competition for Veldwijk from Midlands neighbours Nottingham Forest. Incoming manager Stuart Pearce has been spotted at recent Excelsior games and he is looking to recruit a striker for the new season. TheUltimateWinner Posted 22 May 2014 Share Posted 22 May 2014 We can beat forest to him easy! Considering we are looking at similar players to Wood I wonder what the future holds for him...
Narborough_fox Posted 22 May 2014 Share Posted 22 May 2014 know absolutely nothing about him but I hope we sign him just so Forest can't.

LCCFox96 Posted 22 May 2014 Share Posted 22 May 2014 No nothing about him but goal scoring record looks impressive, particularly this season. Could be the big target man type player leicester fans are wanting.

TrentFox Posted 22 May 2014 Share Posted 22 May 2014 We can beat forest to him easy! Considering we are looking at similar players to Wood I wonder what the future holds for him... This guy sounds like he might be good in the air, able to hold the ball up and a goal-scorer. How is that similar to Wood ?!?!
KFS Posted 22 May 2014 Share Posted 22 May 2014 Note the 'Chris Wood'er at 1:30. Just watched this. It's strange, some of the defending is absolutely ludicrous, yet his technique is actually very good. I daren't say he's good though, I wouldn't be seen praising a player off the back of a Youtube video since I'm best mates with Kingfox
Riyad_Suarez Posted 22 May 2014 Share Posted 22 May 2014 I'm a bit concerned about his age......(according to the youtube video)

kingfox Posted 22 May 2014 Share Posted 22 May 2014 Never heard of him, looks too much like Futacs, second division in Holland is something we shouldn't be looking at.
Dan LCFC Posted 22 May 2014 Share Posted 22 May 2014 Imagine their excuses if we sign him. The Daily Mail though. Meh.

KFS Posted 22 May 2014 Share Posted 22 May 2014 David Connolly once got 42 goals in 48 games for Excelsior apparently lol
ibbosuk Posted 22 May 2014 Share Posted 22 May 2014 Another risk me thinks, reminds me of Futacs, depends on the price.

He looks half decent but some of that defending... you'd think it was park football. I know the Dutch like to attack but that's unreal.

Happy Fox Posted 22 May 2014 Author Share Posted 22 May 2014 Nugent, Vardy, Veldwijk and Fraizer Campbell would be a decent front four
LCFC31 Posted 22 May 2014 Share Posted 22 May 2014 Looks good from the video, but like others have said the defending is dreadful. Abilty wise, the Dutch second division must be on par with League 1?
