Tielemans63 Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Shame Palace ****ed up. Could have done with them putting Hull away.
SpacedX Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 I've no problem with a difference of opinion but you can't argue with the result or the last 4 games. There was nothing lucky about it. You can't always go gung-ho every game against every side, they were desperate for the points and were having more of a go than West Ham & Swansea combined but we dug in and got the result. My anger was more from the match thread where Kitch spent half the game glass half full. Anyway, all that counts is I agree, it wasn't luck. But this forum can be a strange place. I've dared to suggest that had Nige have managed this team the way he is currently doing...(as you say, what counts is the table)...we would be mid table or more...and just got ****ing destroyed for such a suggestion - despite the fact I was one of the few to outrightly say we'd win today. We all have different opinions, I've learned it pays to entetain a different perspective from time to time even if it is opposed to your own. In making that statement, I was accused of the most pointless thread ever on this forum...simultaneously, we were debatng the relatve merits of Pearson and Dyche in a cage fight situation.
Guest bennytwohats Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Why so much hate for Dyche out of interest? I'm not a massive fan and find his voice incredibly annoying, but he isn't as bad as some are making out. Being fair to him they haven't spent as much money as us. He has done a fairly good job on a shoestring. More importantly his team has just lost a massive game that will probably send them down - not sure what some of you are expecting him to say. Ho hum, a class result for us. Don't really care how we played personally (Despite it being horribly tense to observe). The people moaning about the performance are pretty hilarious. If anyone heard about some of our fans moaning after 4 wins on the bounce what do you think the reaction would be? Massive games next week, glad they are both on TV!
lgfualol Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Owen Coyle signed Sordell for 3 million for Bolton. He was a free transfer to Burnley. Wait, actually an 'undisclosed' fee reported as around 500k. Jukavic cost about 1.5 million though, has never scored! Juka makes our waste of money Simpson look pretty good
SpacedX Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 ...simultaneously, we were debatng the relatve merits of Pearson and Dyche in a cage fight situation. Nige would win with his hands tied behind his back
MPH Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 First time we have EVER won 4 in a row in the prem. EVER. And on a side note... If that's the best Burnley can do at home in their biggest game of the season then they don't deserve to stay up.
desertfox2 Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Credit to Albrighton as well today. What a ball in for the goal. Nightmare to defend that, vardy showed a poachers instinct but that ball in was perfect. He could easily have sulked etc with limited opportunities but he has forced his way in the side now.
Guest ttfn Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 From the admittedly unclear and jumpy stream I had I thought we were disappointingly but understandably negative today. In the end it took a large slice of luck and a massive save from Schmeichel to get us a clean sheet from which we were able to build our win. Hope we go back to the more positive approach at least for the home games we've got left. Edit: sorry just realised how negative that sounds - great win, fantastic commitment and 4 wins a row is barely comprehensible really!
Raw Dykes Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Sounded like Kasper was absolutely immense today. Brilliant! Yeah - he played well. Made one world-class save when Huth nearly OG'd. Was a lot like that Seaman save he made very late in his career - started moving one way, then had to dive the opposite direction to claw the ball out. He has looked a lot better since his injury. Two more clean sheets to add to just the one he had all season. Perhaps he's learning a thing or two from Schwarzer.
billyn88 Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 I went but never got a t shirt - day ruined. #shirtless
lifted*fox Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 We all have different opinions, I've learned it pays to entetain a different perspective from time to time even if it is opposed to your own. Voicing your opinion occasionally isn't a problem, but Kitchandro has been doom-mongering in pretty much every post match thread for the last 4 WINS. What's the ****ing point? Nigel has consistently performed both selection-wise and tactically for the last 4 matches. Whether you supported him before these games or not, anyone with the slightest amount of decorum would swallow their pride, admit he's done a good job and shut the **** up moaning. We've had 8 wins this season, the other 4 were a long time ago and these 4 have all come in a miraculously neat little bundle all in one go. It's like the best Christmas dinner ever - some of us are trying to enjoy it and make the most of it and yet some people are still absolutely intent on stepping up onto the table, squatting down and taking a big fat shit in the turkey. **** off and let me enjoy my Christmas dinner. Something like that anyway.
Guest Bilo Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 The match was pure Championship in terms of quality, and it's certainly our worst performance since the Hull game, but who cares? We went up there, battled, rode our luck a bit and snatched a smash and grab 1-0 win. 18th vs 20th was always going to be a battle of attrition and we came out on top. I've said before that you won't need silly points to stay up, it could easily be a record low. I reckon a win and a draw from our final five keeps us up, get six points before QPR and that one'll be a relaxing dead rubber against an already relegated side.
Matt Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Apparently Nige walked out of the post match presser? Source? And if it did happen does anyone know why yet?
NewburyFox Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Brilliant win, pretty rubbish performance but we battled hard and it's nice that the fine margins have gone our way for once. Kasper my MOTM. Also well done to anyone who had "£17m spent on two strikers", "market" and "super underdogs" () on their Dyche interview bingo card.
The Doctor Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 any highlights? Villa losing suddenly turns it into 1 from 4 - no reason we can't finish top of those 4.
Callabinho Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Performances matter not. Results mean everything.
Finchy Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 There's something so satisfying about beating Burnley, all game their fans were constantly moaning about decisions, Danny Ings couldn't stop going over to the ref to complain about us after every challenge. It's always poor little old Burnley, change the record it's embarrassing.
David Hankey Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Fantastic result, well done to all at Leicester City. I feel vertigo coming on. Draw now against Chelski!!
ramadaone Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Source? And if it did happen does anyone know why yet? Sounds like he has upset another Reporter All part of his master plan to keep the media spotlight on him and off his players ?
Merging Cultures Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 What a great day. So very happy. I thought today would be a tough one and it was. So glad we battled it out. Showed true grit.
Guest Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 The result we needed. Kasper, Morgan, Drinky and Vardy were extremely good. Voldemort our worst player on the day. Well done City.
TJB-fox Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Konchesky was a solid 7/10 apart from the penalty incident (which does cloud his performance, yes) but to say he was terrible is stupidly harsh, seeing as he's been part of a solid defensive unit today. Would prefer Schlupp in but think Konch did well defensively. People/fans seem to enjoy critiscising some players and he is definitely one of them.
