weller54 Posted 28 April 2015 Posted 28 April 2015 With QPR and Burnley looking odds on for the drop it's now between us, Sunderland, Hull, Villa and Newcastle for the final relegation place... Could villa be distracted by the FA Cup final?.. Got a feeling Hull will do enough to survive.. Sunderland's run in is scary.. And Newcastle are in freefall... Our game against Sunderland looks to me to be decisive??

Rocket-Ron Posted 28 April 2015 Posted 28 April 2015 Early on in the season Newcastle were in free fall before they met us in the away fixture! Just saying like
Babylon Posted 28 April 2015 Posted 28 April 2015 Considering the what seemed impossible has happened for us, I'm not ruling anyone in or out. We could easily not win another game, or someone like Hull could win a couple on the trot and get out of it. It concerns me how much the focus seems to have shifted to next season with threads about money to spend, prize money etc etc. There should be no doubt about it, we're still in deep shit.
Fox_in_a_Box Posted 28 April 2015 Posted 28 April 2015 I still don't think its over for anyone yet. Still plenty of twists and turns before the end of the season.

Previous form can mean nothing in the final run-in and 1-point above the drop is anything but safe.
weller54 Posted 28 April 2015 Author Posted 28 April 2015 We could move up a postion tonight Think Dull will get a point tonight!!!
Monsell1976 Posted 28 April 2015 Posted 28 April 2015 Was it Wigan the other year that won the cup and went down, would be happy if Newcastle stay distracted, well at least till after we've played them.

People are getting far too ahead of themselves. We have 5 games left and probably need to win at least 2 to stay up. We are just as likely as any other side down the bottom to lose 5 games in a row. I think Hull will win tonight.

tylesta Posted 28 April 2015 Posted 28 April 2015 Was it Wigan the other year that won the cup and went down, would be happy if Newcastle stay distracted, well at least till after we've played them. I've got Newcastle to beat reading in the fa cup final at 600000000000 to 1
Jon the Hat Posted 28 April 2015 Posted 28 April 2015 This. Previous form can mean nothing in the final run-in and 1-point above the drop is anything but safe. 1 point above the drop is safe at the end of the season!
cc_star Posted 28 April 2015 Posted 28 April 2015 A defeat to Chelsea, Newcastle's best players returning and a poor performance from us, see's us suffer two defeats in a row... Meaning we have to beat Sunderland, who scrape a draw out of us - and we end up going down as an already relegated QPR with the pressure off run riot at the KP If we can win 4 games in a row any team could. We might not be able to buy a win for the next 5 games, just like we haven't for lots of '5 games' over the season
Staffs Fox Posted 28 April 2015 Posted 28 April 2015 I do not even rule Burnley or QPR out of it, We know better than anyone that a sudden run of form (and a bit of luck) can come out of nowhere. If someone would have told me 3 weeks ago we'd be one point off 15th I'd have laughed my head off, we looked doomed, Sunderland's results at the back end of last season prove you cannot look at a run in and predict anything, 7 points and we should be safe, that's all I care about and with our fixtures left if we don't achieve it we only have ourselves to blame
Ric Flair Posted 28 April 2015 Posted 28 April 2015 Let's face it we aren't going to win every game left and it only takes a defeat or two and our fans will start to panic again, perhaps the players and staff will too. It's still on a knife edge, but the fact we're even in this scenario is astounding given the circumstances of August to March. We have to treat every game as one of must win games, we can't let up. We itensify and galvanise what we've done in the last month and keep driving on and hope to dear god that come the end of May we've got more points than the team in 18th spot. That Newcastle game on Saturday is the sort of game that scares me. Everything points to us getting the win, but it won't be that simple. What I do love though is what this squad and manager has been through previously and you've got to have a little bit of reassurance that whatever happens in the next few games we'll never give up. We'll somehow come up with a way of staying up.

Amen to this. I find it incredible all this talk of who we should bring in next season or keep and what improvement would look like etc. Personally I haven't got enough emotional or mental energy to think about anything other than the next game at the moment. But I am a bit simple I guess
ozleicester Posted 28 April 2015 Posted 28 April 2015 ill give you 700000000000 to 1 for a minimum $10 bet I've got Newcastle to beat reading in the fa cup final at 600000000000 to 1
LCCFox96 Posted 28 April 2015 Posted 28 April 2015 We have won the last 4 battles but anyone that thinks we have won the war is kidding themselves just now! Lots of football still to be played. We could easily be dragged back into it and us keeping the momentum we have built up in recent weeks will be vital to avoid that!

Totally agree, there will be many twists and turns in the next few weeks with shock results, probably including us .Would snap your hand off to have 34 points Saturday 3pm .
Tommy G Posted 28 April 2015 Posted 28 April 2015 If Cambiasso does he knee tomorrow and Vardy gets a straight red that could make our remaining fixtures more interesting. We are nowhere near out the woods yet

Good post Babylon. I'm totally with you on this. For example, I'd be surprised if Hull don't get something out of tonight's game.
