davieG Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 City's owners, players and first team staff will embark on a lap of appreciation following Sunday's Barclays Premier League match against QPR, to thank our fans for their incredible support. The Foxes head into the final game of the campaign with their Premier League status already secure following a remarkable run of results in recent weeks, which should make for a party atmosphere at King Power Stadium. Once Sunday's game has concluded, the players will return to the dressing rooms, before re-emerging with their families to acknowledge the support of the Blue Army. To ensure that the lap of appreciation can take place and for the safety of the players and their young families, the Club kindly asks supporters to remain in their seats and to keep off the pitch AND the perimeter track. Any level of pitch incursion could prevent the lap of appreciation taking place and deny the players their opportunity to acknowledge the amazing contribution our supporters have made to a memorable season. Supporters are reminded that it is a criminal offence to enter the field of play. Sunday's visit of QPR has already been declared a sell-out, though supporters without tickets can follow coverage of the game and the day's events on lcfc.com, Foxes Player and through the Club's social media channels. Trav Le Bleu Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 Obviously an attempt to stop a pitch invasion, but at least it's a good way of doing it.
elangLCFC Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 Planned pitch invasion at a dead rubber game is a bit tinpot anyway so hope people just stay at their seats and show the players the appreciation they deserve which hopefully they will reciprocate
Matt Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 Whilst I don't agree with a pitch invasion in these circumstances - What's the point, we're already safe. If it was the case that we became safe in the final match against QPR then I would understand a pitch invasion. However, we have more reason a pitch invasion than QPR had last weekend! These persistent calls against pitch invasion's every season just make people want to do it more I mean last season was the only season of note I can think of a real reason for a pitch invasion - Ok maybe the League One winning season. I'm gutted there wasn't a mass one at the last game at Filbert Street though, I know some got on the pitch but it wasn't a 'proper' one.
ScouseFox Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 Still no idea what the obsession with invading is. As part of a celebration for a goal or a final whistle that means something I can understand it cos it's a celebration in the moment. What's the obsession with just going on the pitch? Just to stand around on the pitch? Rather stand by my seat and give the lads another song.
GingerrrFox Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 There's an old bitch who sits near my Dad and apparently last year she was screaming, "arrest them!!! why the **** are you not doing anything? Punch em, kick em, come on get involved, disgraceful". Deary me.
Harry - LCFC Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 If the club suspects a pitch invasion might occur they'd do well to tell everyone that they will be let on after the lap of honour is complete.
old leicester Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 Out of all the 92 clubs in the football league , only Leicester city fans would cry over a pitch invasion. I can only apologise for Orient 1980,Burnley 1983, and Oxford 1991.
Voll Blau Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 Fair play, but do they have to put it in quite such a Nanny State way? Vast majority realise a pitch invasion's a daft idea if there's nowt to celebrate on the day.
sylofox Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 Respect the players give them there time. After all they have done they deserve some love. After they have left the pitch do what the fvck you want. After the season they have had and the season they have given us they deserve the time to say thanks and thank all of us. Any fan that stops that deserves the full extent of the law even if it is 10k.

I can only apologise for Orient 1980,Burnley 1983, and Oxford 1991. they were all meaningful games. sunday is a very, very enjoyable, party atmosphere, celebratory friendly. completely and utterly not the same.
filbertway Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 No one has actually produced a decent, valid reason for wanting to get on the pitch. It's almost as pathetic as some of purse emptying that's crept into the tinder thread of late.
Mayofox Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 The owners are going on the pitch, too. Will be great to be able to thank them. And the helicopter could take away those players who are surplus to requirements....
MrSpaM Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 Dear chavvy twats Please don't ruin this for the rest of us
leftbackinthechangingroom Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 With what's gone off recently regarding pitch invasions (preston fans attacking an opposing player, blackpool fans protest stopping the game etc) I can see the fa clamping down on it granted the blackpool 1 is an extreme example but the fa may use that as the go to example when dealing with pitch invasions in the future and could even dock points. So why risk it just in case it effects the club negatively
Bayfox Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 Pitch invasions are spontaneous moments. Ala tony james keeping us up. Last year was so gay. Ruined it for the family stand and the players. Try not to **** it up this year. Tinpot.
