MC Prussian Posted 4 December 2015 Posted 4 December 2015 Surprise surprise Nugent scores against Ipswich His eight goal in as many visits to Portman Road. Impressive.
kyleolly Posted 4 December 2015 Posted 4 December 2015 His eight goal in as many visits to Portman Road. Impressive. In commentary they said something about 14 goals in 13 games which included a goal at portman road for England u21's
promised land Posted 4 December 2015 Posted 4 December 2015 Speaking to a Derby fan at work today and he said they are being charged £43 for a ticket at Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday. I'd say he was lying, a quick look on their OS says £36, not much better for a tier 2 game but certainly not £43. http://tickets.wearederby.com/en-gb/categories/away Looking at the 3 away games on there, over £30 seems the norm now.

Makes Premier League prices look not so bad. Tbh in comparison to Championship prices I can't complain at all with Prem prices on a whole, they're too much but i'm saying in comparison, that doesn't make it right.

He definitely told me £43, but as you've pointed out tickets are £36. I'll ask him Monday, that might have included a coach price that he didn't mention maybe.
Corky Posted 4 December 2015 Posted 4 December 2015 I do like Nuge but you'd want someone far better to have that sort of record against your club. At least Kevin Phillips and Andy Cole were top Premier League strikers in their day.
Fox in the North Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 Watch the Brighton-Charlton highlights, Lamby must be sick as a parrot
Kitchandro Posted 6 December 2015 Posted 6 December 2015 Forest may have won today but it''s great seeing them average less than 20,000 every week. Even in League one we got more than that! Truly great times.
Footballwipe Posted 6 December 2015 Posted 6 December 2015 Every time I switch the Championship on Sky I hear a quiet stadium, empty seats everywhere and slow, ponderous football and frankly I don't want to watch that kind of crap.

It's strange to the think people on this board wanted to be back in the championship last season.
Footballwipe Posted 6 December 2015 Posted 6 December 2015 Agreed. I've put tge snooker on as theres more tempo in that I know tempo dictates crowd noise but you could forgive the terrible football if there was anything resembling an atmosphere. The PL is as guilty as the Championship of course but every ground seems dead. "proper football down there" they say. It's strange to the think people on this board wanted to be back in the championship last season. Hopefully that was rose-tinted from 2013/14 but completely unrealistic and not based in reality. The battle to get out of that division is horrible.
Fox92 Posted 6 December 2015 Posted 6 December 2015 This is low quality. It's foul after foul... And this is 3rd v 7th!
Corky Posted 6 December 2015 Posted 6 December 2015 Aren't Derby meant to be the most exciting team ever or was that just two years ago?
Wymsey Posted 6 December 2015 Posted 6 December 2015 Whilst under Clement, they've been quite a bore to watch. At least McClaren made them look entertaining. I presume Will Hughes is injured, rather than not being playing well recently?
Fox92 Posted 6 December 2015 Posted 6 December 2015 Wow, my schoolmate just got MOTM and I've just finished Uni...
Donut Posted 6 December 2015 Posted 6 December 2015 Just more evidence today of the genuine crap that is the championship. It is unquestionably crap and it cannot be argued.
RobHawk Posted 6 December 2015 Posted 6 December 2015 Every time I switch the Championship on Sky I hear a quiet stadium, empty seats everywhere and slow, ponderous football and frankly I don't want to watch that kind of crap. It only takes hearing goodman or Beagrie on commentary to want to switch over. Can't believe sky still employ them both! The big problem with the championship is everyone's desperate to get to the PL so are pumping money into players, but ripping off the fans in the process.
Hollism Posted 7 December 2015 Posted 7 December 2015 I'd love for a club to really drop the prices of their tickets to fill out a decent sized stadium every week and see if it makes a difference to the results. Obviously it would have to be a club who are owned by someone with loads of money. It's horrible to see the attendance vs capacity % in that league.

Absolutely, someone on Twitter posted the ticket prices for Wednesday fans yesterday. Sunday lunchtime on TV, £34 and £38 for adults, around £29 for a young adult. What hope do they have? Football League clubs in all divisions do not help themselves with the horrendous ticket prices (in all three leagues and even the Conference) and as a result the grounds are half-full, souless and drab. It's supposed to be "real football" but most ticket prices are still out of reach of the floating fan. I'm convinced the high ticket prices and resultant dropping attendances as people refuse to pay it will strengthen any argument by the giant clubs for B teams in the FL someday in the future, and I really don't want that.

Fox92 Posted 9 December 2015 Posted 9 December 2015 Brian McDermott is set to return to Reading as the Championship club's new manager, BBC Radio Berkshire reports. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/35050368
