MC Prussian Posted 4 December 2015 Posted 4 December 2015 Reading say goodbye to manager Clarke: http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/35005713 Can't fathom a reasonable cause - they're near the playoff places or thereabouts. Somewhat odd sacking, that.
kingcarr21 Posted 4 December 2015 Posted 4 December 2015 Pearson to Reading? Wouldnt mind that at all. Rather there than Forest
J.Lisemore Posted 4 December 2015 Posted 4 December 2015 What game was it where it we were losing at about 85 minutes, we'd won a corner and Bamba was screaming at Beckford cause he was just walking about couldn't be arsed about getting forward to attack it? Imagine anyone ever having a go at Vardy for not trying hard enough! Anybody remember West Ham away when he seemed surprised that we booed him off the pitch? Fvcking laziest player I've seen bar Balotelli.

Somewhat odd sacking, that. Wow that's really harsh.A point outside the play offs ffs. The thing with the Fulham job must have played a part.
Dan Posted 4 December 2015 Posted 4 December 2015 Reading are dour beyond belief but they are fairly harmless. Get Pearson in.
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 4 December 2015 Posted 4 December 2015 don't want NP to go there, Reading in the PL is a waste of a place!
filbertway Posted 4 December 2015 Posted 4 December 2015 Well Reading have been pretty weak recently and looked terrible last night. Clarke's another one of the boring managers that I really don't like.
Gold Coast Fox Posted 4 December 2015 Posted 4 December 2015 Rather Reading than Forest... Sign him up!
Stevosevic Posted 4 December 2015 Posted 4 December 2015 I'd be shocked if he didn't get this one. Madejski usually goes for British managers so i doubt it will be a foreign import, which doesn't leave him with much choice.
Wymsey Posted 4 December 2015 Posted 4 December 2015 It's quite ridiculous sacking him. Not far off the play-offs, compared to Freedman at Forest, and have quite a strong strong (albeit need a proven goalscorer currently). Patience is certainly not a virtue in football, and that's rather sad.

I think the form excuse they've used is a disguise for the fact they're very pissed off at him interviewing for the Fulham job and the fact it seems to have unsettled things results wise.

Spot on. Id say there's almost no such thing as a genuine U-turn in football. There's a reason he didn't end up in the Fulham job and it wasn't because he 'believes in the project' at Reading.

Surprised he left Burton tbf. image: http://www.qpr.co.uk/cms_images/player/david-oldfield-64064-2835052_613x460.jpg PUBLISHED 12:39 4th December 2015 by @QPRFC A closer look at Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s assistant manager … QPR’s new Assistant Manager, David Oldfield, enjoyed a playing career spanning 20 years and almost 600 professional appearances – most notably with Leicester City, Luton Town, Stoke City and Peterborough United – before he became the Reserve Team Manager at Posh in 2008. In 2011, he joined West Bromwich Albion as a Senior Professional Development Coach. After three years working in the top flight with the Baggies’ Category One Academy, Oldfield moved to MK Dons as their Head of Academy Coaching. However, after six months at Stadium:mk, the opportunity to work within a first-team environment at Burton Albion with Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink proved too good to resist, and the former midfielder was named Assistant Manager at the Pirelli Stadium in November 2014. Sharing similar views on the game to Hasselbaink, Oldfield played a vital role in the Brewers’ success over the past 12 months.
