The Championship - 2015/16 Stuff It In Here

Has now surpassed John Toshack in the Bluebirds' all-time scoring list and is now Cardiff's seventh-best in that department. Respect.

I know yeah, unbelievable, though he has been there for most of his career. That said, always scored goals from midfield.

Fans aren't really that bothered by Championship games. For all the talk of it being a competitive and exciting league, most crowds are well down on what they would be in the Premier League. It's only really Norwich who've managed to maintain a pretty full ground in that league over the last 8 years or so, although Derby get high crowds regularly at the moment.

Derby always get 30k, it's not just at the moment, so that's about 90% full. Brentford, QPR and Rotherham usually are at 90% every week too. Some grounds are too big though - Elland Road and Hillsborough are both near 40k capacity.

Like I said weeks ago, it depends on which club you're comparing. You cannot compare a City like Norwich or Derby to a town like Huddersfield. The Galpharn holds nearly 25000 an no disrespect to Huddersfield but they are not going to fill that every week, and I'm guessing most people in West Yorkshire follow Leeds anyway.

As for Wolves... We all know they are well supported. I saw that picture above (not sure what time it was taken) with little Wolves fans but they'll take more than that.

You thought it was bad enough for our game, Sky have changed a game with 17 days notice: http://www.mfc.co.uk//news/article/2016/middlesbrough-boro-sky-sports-charlton-2971412.aspx

Good stuff from the club though.

As a gesture to fans who have already booked train travel for the original date, the club will contribute to the cost of exchanging rail tickets to attend on the Sunday up to a maximum value of £50.

Yet again though it's the club helping out the fans when it's sky who are causing the problem.

A few Middlesbrough fans on Twitter were saying that train tickets for the Sunday were £126, so will they have to buy new tickets and the club contribute £50 towards them?

It's looking that way. As I said in the other thread though it's a bit more complicated getting from Middlesbrough to London than it is getting from Leicester, which is of course on the mainline where as Middlesbrough isn't. I'm guessing most of those fans will be changing and therefore will have tickets with two different train companies.#

Absolutely disgraceful from Sky yet again though.

aren't they just paying the exchange of a ticket? exchanging a ticket won't cost £126 . exchanging costs £10 and then making up the difference from the original saturday ticket, which surely won't be more than £40?

so they've paid like £100 or something for their original train tickets, now they've got to change them for a tenner and then pay an extra £26. all covered by the club. unless they've all got some absolute bargain deals on the saturday trains lol

Bloody hell so travel alone will have totalled around £200 for them. Also just reading that they have got to email the club the confirmation of the change of trains and not ring them. Hardly making it easy for them are they.

I can understand sky wanting to move our game against Arsenal 1st versus 3rd in the league, but to move Charlton v Middlesbrough onto a Sunday I can hardly seeing it being in high demand for people wanting to watch it.

I've not checked the dates but have Sky lost a game due to FA cup next round.

Shows that the club can probably afford to reimburse fans yet still probably make money from being on tv.

Lambert should manage in League One, where he's comfortable.

Has failed in PL and, so far, struggling to change Blackburn's fortunes around.

Yes, they were going to show Brighton v Reading on the Friday.

How did Norwich end up in the Premier League?

Give him a bit of time. They're a painfully ordinary squad that just lost their top scorer with no replacement.

As for Middlesbrough - no surprise yet again the contempt shown for the match going fan. It's an absolute joke that nothing is done to stop things like that.  It's not even the money half the time either - why do they think people are spending that money in the first place?

Sky should have reimbursed every penny of our fans at Arsenal and every penny of this, but they won't because they've convinced most people that they created football.

This would be the Paul Lambert who kept Norwich up in the PL before leaving to manage Villa?

Got a right ping on him. His second yellow was a farce.

Oh yeah he has, he hit the bar first half with a great shot.
