weller54 Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 How ****ing mental if Pearson went villa, and last game of the season if they would get oht at Spurs, us win the tittle Ground control to Major Tom.....
Guest Col city fan Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Does anyone have the faintest clue why on earth Villa went for first Tim Sherwood then Remy bloody Garde! I swear some football clubs are run by Coco the Clown! Villa..do yourself a bloody favour, stop arsing about and appoint Nigel Pearson as your next manager. Give him full control over team affairs, sit back and wonder why didn't we do this 9 or so months ago.
Captain... Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 If Pearson goes there and they are looking for a total overhaul of all the staff, you imagine he would come knocking for anyone he could pick up at Leicester. Can't see Shakespeare or Walsh or anyone important going as it would be a massive step down but he could be looking to get in some of the support staff, recruit someone from the sports science team here to manage the new sports science department at Villa. Recruit one of the coaches, or scouts, maybe even some of the financial team, basically anyone with any experience of working in a successful football club would be welcome at Villa. They would need to offer them a promotion though to make up for the drop down in level.
lestajigs Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 If i could even work out what you are on about I would try. Last Days Fixtures, Newcastle v Tottenham, hope that helps. Oh shiiiiiit

You can understand the appointment of Sherwood, did a decent job at Spurs and gave the players the lift they needed to keep them up last season. The problem was they brought in a load of inexperienced young players and let Vlaar go, sold Benteke and failed to capture Cleverly. Lescott was past it, Richards could have been a good signing and has probably been one of the best of a bad bunch. Sherwood didn't have full control and didn't get his targets. He was also a limited manager so bringing in young foreign talent that don't understand him completely nullifies his main strength which is motivation. Garde was then the anti-Sherwood, he is not a bad manager but still a very strange appointment which seemed to be intended to get the best out of the young foreign players they shouldn't have signed in the first place. It was like putting a bandage on a cut without cleaning it, if you don't actually deal with the problem correctly then the treatment can be worse then the problem to start with. They wrapped a big French bandage around it trapping in all this crap and now it has got all infected and diseased and they need to cut off the bandage, get rid of the infection and start from scratch and hope the gangrenous limb is not irreparably damaged and they don't need to amputate.

Sums up Villa perfectly

Love the analogy. And very true.Another top post. You need to stop it now or you'll end up making even more sense than me!
Fox92 Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35923924 Martin Demichelis charged over betting offences
AKCJ Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35923924 I had a feeling that he couldn't have been THAT shit against United.
Wymsey Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Rob Elliot could be out for rest of season, feel for Newcastle fans with Krul also out for another few weeks/months.
ScouseFox Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 I had a feeling that he couldn't have been THAT shit against United. apparently nothing to do with fixing or anything to do with what he's played. the rules are pretty weird. he'll have just had a random acca or had a bet on jamie vardy first scorer in a random match which he ain't allowed to do. bit retarded but doubt it's anything malicious.
AjcW Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Rob Elliot could be out for rest of season, feel for Newcastle fans with Krul also out for another few weeks/months. They have the mighty Karl Darlow though!

filbertway Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 The betting rules are stupid. Anybody playing football even at semi professional level can't (officially) bet on football. As if someone as Quorn is going to have the inside scoop on Blackburn v Bolton.

More likely Jon Rudkin.

As if someone as Quorn is going to have the inside scoop on Blackburn v Bolton. they used to be different, you couldn't bet on any competition you were directly involved in basically (so our players couldn't bet on the prem, the fa cup or the league cup but could happily place a football league 5 fold and watch soccer saturday if we were playing on the sunday, no harm in that imo). but i think andros townsend was responsible for getting them changed because apparently he (or just footballers) are to stupid to understand that rule so they just banned everyone from betting on football altogether to avoid "confusion".

They have gone for the sledge hammer approach. A blanket ban on everything may be overkill, but there are plenty of friendships between players in different leagues and competitions. Wasn't Nugent Vardy's best man, would Vardy betting on Middlesbrough be inappropriate? There are friendships and business relationships through out all levels of football and it is better to ban all footballers from any football betting and remove the temptation from players, they have too much time on their hands as it is and many have fallen foul to temptation of one sort or another. The integrity of the sport is more important than someone being able to place their 5 team acca on the Spanish third division.
Gerard Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 The best part The Portuguese scout is at Uni in Bristol The German scout has emigrated to Australia It sounds like a pub team not a multi million Pound organisation.
Nalis Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Looking at the table and remaining fixtures, I can realistically envisage a scenario where Sunderland and Newcastle stay up and Palace and Norwich are relegated. Thought I'd share that. Every time I've done the predictor thing I always get that too. And with your record on the Tipping Thread, I wouldnt be in a position to change my mind!
Fox92 Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 ... was 'Another Shit Season' actually Top trying to get rid of Pearson? haha he is nowhere to be seen. Wait till we go through a bad spell then he'll be back.
Gerard Posted 30 March 2016 Posted 30 March 2016 Sunday cannot come soon enough.. Saturday just as big. C'mon Liverpool & Watford.
