stripeyfox Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 The issue of how we'd all feel if it were three different players involved is an interesting one. If it was Cambiasso, which given the man's temperament seems extremely unlikely but for the sake of argument, lets say it was - I'd feel the same level of outrage but I'd be much more disappointed. I think, on balance, that I would still be calling for him to be sacked, but I can understand that not everyone would feel comfortable with this. It certainly could blur the lines a bit but if we accept that using such indecent racist language is a line which no employee should step over then this should apply to every individual, regardless of status at the club.
gerrytaggart Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 Dont matter who it is...youth team nobodies or world stars. They have brought great shame on our club. Be gone.
Freesolo Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 These young lads look like men on the pitch, seeing them in this video makes me realise that they are immature little boys inside
5waller5 Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 The "what if it were someone else" argument doesn't make any difference to me. Sack them. What they've done is wrong and whatever their name or stare in the club it's still wrong. Would different players have done it?? For me, no. Vardy works his backside off to succeed in his career, just like Cambiasso, and to be honest what looks like most of our players. These 3 look to be suffering from an "entitlement" view point and smack of the overpaid under-educated stereotype view of footballers. Possibly why, at the age of 21, they haven't made it near to the first team .... they don't have the desire to be a pro and dedicate their life to their profession.

cc_star Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 The clubs statement indicates the likely outcome for all 3. "Our players at every level are expected to behave as representatives and ambassadors for our Football Club, both on official Club duty and in their personal lives, so we treat their conduct extremely seriously"Follow the money.... What would King Power, Singha & especially Amazing-Thailand think if the 3, especially Hopper, were to remain employed by the club, in part with the aid of their money. I see 3 interesting debates in this Should the punishments differ between Hopper & the other 2?My opinion from what I've seen (which isn't investigatory due process) is no, they should all be gone.I don't believe footballers are role models, but they did get paid handsomely as a result of football being in the public eye so much & with that comes sacrifices that these 3 failed to live up to.The fact it was an official club trip, in a territory where attracting good will of Thai people is vital to King Power's aims & intentions of purchasing our club... seals the deal for me. Given the worldwide press attention, will Nigel Pearson be able to continue with his normal press conference approach of "club matters are private matters" & it's not for him to comment, rather than publicly back the potential (likely?) sacking of his son, or could this be something he resigns over?Personally I think he's principled enough to sack his own son over this, regardless of what the board decide, but then again I don't really know the inside of NP's brain, nor the relationship he has with his son & the board, especially after the sacking/non-sacking. What do people on here think if it truly was 3 Leicester City PL 'stars'?Personally I'm a believer in punishment & rehabilitation, so just like in the Simpson issue, from what I've seen, I think the punishment is gross misconduct & the 3 lads should face dismissal, but not beyond the ability for them to redeem their careers elsewhere in the future. For me, that doesn't change regardless of who the players are, Simpson, Hopper, Pearson & Smith.... or Vardy, Cambiasso, Ulloa & Schmechel... or whoever you may love. Although I don't think others would treat people in this way, to truly make it professionally like 1st team 'stars' do, takes an amount of personal discipline, character not seen from these acts.

Interesting (debatable), but unnecessary argument and insulting to Cambiasso since he is in no way implicatedThe issue for me is how do we feel about Newspapers casually inserting a picture of Matty James instead of Tom Hopper in their reports of the affair, mistakenly implicating him, when he is in no way implicated?
Vestan Pance Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 The very fact that first team players names are being used as examples in threads like this shows just how damaging this is, not only to LCFC but to players who have nothing to do with this. I don't care who the players involved are, they have no place at the club.
ScouseFox Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 "PREMIER LEAGUE STARS RACIST ORGY" does make it sound much more interesting than "3 leicester reserves shag some birds from thialand and one calls her a slit eye".
sylofox Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 It's pretty much forgotten by the media You think? They will all be digging round and turning stones to see what they can find ready for the big day. Once the outcome of the investigation is announced the shite will really hit the fan. This is nowhere near over.
cc_star Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 It's pretty much forgotten by the media a quick news.google.com search for 'Leicester City' then clicking on 'Explore more on this' (422 articles), then sorting by date, shows the media haven't forgotten about this, press from CNN, NYT & others are still reporting on it from places as far flung as Nigeria to the US, Thailand to South America... all within the last 24hrs, the story isn't dying, even if a Kardashian undergoing a sex change is top of some site's homepages.
stripeyfox Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 Interesting (debatable), but unnecessary argument and insulting to Cambiasso since he is in no way implicated The issue for me is how do we feel about Newspapers casually inserting a picture of Matty James instead of Tom Hopper in their reports of the affair, mistakenly implicating him, when he is in no way implicated? I only suggested Cambiasso because he appears to be the polar opposite of these three. An outstanding career and model pro, and therefore the best candidate to compare if we'd feel the same is it was a higher profile player.
stripeyfox Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 The very fact that first team players names are being used as examples in threads like this shows just how damaging this is, not only to LCFC but to players who have nothing to do with this. I don't care who the players involved are, they have no place at the club. But the examples are relevant to the discussion. No one is suggesting that they were involved but much of the discussion has been around whether the players should be sacked. Most think they should, some think not. An argument used by the "think nots" is - "would you feel the same if it was X,Y or Z involved". Using this as a comparison is not "damaging" to the clubs reputation. Anyone reading this would be able to work out exactly the argument being made. The mistaken picture used by the press is unfortunate but in the overall scheme of things not a major issue since the vast majority of people would not know either Tom Hopper or Matty James if they bumped into them. It seems unlikely that Matty James will get harangued in Tesco's by a random member of the public who saw his picture on a website?
CosbehFox Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 It's pretty much forgotten by the media And been replaced by a stunt dog in the red tops of this country.
Finn Claw II Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 The right answer is gross misconduct and gone. As a poster above said, you'd hope the three learn a lot from this, they will lose jobs, girlfriends, friends and suffer abuse from fans (I dont feel sorry for them in any way). The only positive for them is if they realise how stupid they were and become 'model pros' at some other club. If it were 3 'star players' then ideally they would face the same punishment but I reckon the club would try to rehabilitate them inside the club so as to avoid severely damaging the playing side. £60m per year is likely to involve cause some moral flexibilty...
Frank to be Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 Hope the club get this sewn up today. Last thing we need is to remind the media of this later in the week just as the story is dying down. Get it done today, announce it and then full media shut down until pre-season begins. It'll be forgotten by then.

Itsthejoeker Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 Is this the kind of thing you disown your kid for? I mean, if you're manager of a premier league club, having already been in the spotlight a number of times this year, and you son completely throws your name into disregard again. What do you do?
hackneyfox Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 45 pages and i still havent seen the unscensored footage. hint hint. Why would you want to watch it?Does it not put you on a par with the players?
Babylon Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 Why would you want to watch it? Does it not put you on a par with the players? Some people like to know the facts before calling for people to lose their jobs?

We got the ex GF stories the why I dumped him by the GF he was with when he did it. One GF that will still love him claim he's done nothing and the media set him up.
sylofox Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 Until someone makes a chant up next season. Leeds fans already have something about lady boys.
MC Prussian Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 It's pretty much forgotten by the media Yo, really? It's just hitting the news now across the globe. A long way from being "pretty much forgotten by the media". And think of the long-term consequences, it could potentially tarnish the club's image for a long time to come.

Punch the stupid little fvcker. Or in NP's case throw him to the dogs.
