Premier League stars' racist orgy shame caught on camera during Thailand tour

trying to think this through but I would not be surprised is Nigel Pearson won't offer his resignation over this. I would hope it would be declined but the involvement of his son is a major embarrassment. He isn't particularly press friendly at the best of times and I'm intruiged as to how Nigel will address this with the press upon their return. Indeed is the current lack of press the calm before the storm. helped by the fact the entire party 'bar those involved' are tucked away in Thailand and no doubt being protected from the press by the influence of the Thai owners.

The point at which they return (Pearson and the Management team) and get pressured by the UK press and the point at which a post investigation decision and statement is made could lead to any number of variations of collateral damage. I seriously hope not but Pearson Snr may not be around at the end of all this as he personally may not be able to see a way through it!

At the end of the day his son is an adult who should know better - I'd be surprised if NP left down to the fact his son has been a complete and utter tool.

The club will decided the punishment of all involved on an individual basis - so we might end up seeing 3 totally different outcomes for each Hooper, Pearson and Smith. I think all 3 should go but who knows what disciplinary action the club will take.

I suppose I am trying to put myself in his Shoes. I have a son - ok he is only 8 and his extra curricular activities don't yet stretch to filming himself S B N in uncompromising situations whilst hurling abuse and racist jibes at Thai prostitutes before sending footage to his classmates but there is one thing for sure... He will always be the most special thing in my life!! There is nothing he could do that would in any way affect my love for him!!

Could I return to manage a club where virtually the entire fanbase 100% quite rightly resents and has contempt for my son!

I would struggle to be honest!  The front page of Today's Mercury highlights the public feeling. If sacked, he'd hardly be able to waltz in to Future awards ceremonies and family events involving the club with his old man.

I'm not so sure Pearson will see a way through this.

James Pearson will never get near the first team, regardless of this incident.

Calling for people to be sacked because of one indiscretion is way, way over the top, there was one "racial slur" in there, for which they have apologised.

Surely the club would come out looking better by putting a positive spin on this and getting the lads to do some kind of charity work or some other immoderate activity, to show how much they regret what they said. Lets face it if they hadn't been so imbecilic as to send the video then none of us would have even heard or known about this.

Could we not give a bit of forgiveness? Rather than take part in a witch hunt, fuelled by lazy media hacks.

Do people honestly think that the apology is sincere from all 3 of them? Because I certainly don't. They have only done it because they've been caught.

Of course they have only apologised because they have been caught.

Sincere or not, its not down to you, me or anyone other than their bosses if they get sacked or not.

I just think with a bit of clever PR and some (forgive the pun) ar$e licking, we could come out in a more positive light.

Of course they only apologised because they were caught but I'm sure they feel like absolute tools, especially Pearson junior.

We've all done things we regret the day after being drunk, so they probably feel like that.

I doubt they will b laughing about it with their pals so I am sure they do feel sorry

I think the only lesson they have learnt is to not film it next time...

Regardless of whether they are 'sacked' or not the situation as I see it is James Pearson is out of contract - it won't be renewed, the other two I believe have another year on their contract now whilst they shouldn't/don't deserve any 'money for nothing' (Espcially given the circumstances) sacked or not if the case were to be simply just pay they year off and get them out the club - That is the scenario should there be any reasons to why we can't sack them/get rid of them for free.

well they weren't gonna apologise if they hadn't been caught, cos there would've been nothing to apologise for...?

What, so their only crime is that they filmed and distributed it?

Racism off camera is still racism.

yeah but if they hadn't have been caught they wouldn't have apologised. obviously.

they weren't gonna come home and tweet "yeah none of you have heard or seen anything about it but us three lids racially abused and sexually embarrassed a few prostitutes. sorry."

Is this the kind of thing you disown your kid for?

Just a belting followed by forgiveness should suffice. I was once caught in a similar situation aged under 10, I got caught laying a log on the edge of the school fields (school wasn't open else I'd have just gone toilet. Didn't think I had time to get home so dropped my keks and linked off a torpedo right there). Got a belting from my step-dad later and learned the lesson that public pooing is bang out of order.

Doesn't work with everyone (some people need to go on a course instead) but it worked with me.

This is probably the worst thread (subject wise) we have ever had on ft...but I cant stop coming back to it. Its so bad its fascinating!

Agreed. I haven't watched the video but have been singing the Dirty Dancing (not watched that either) theme tune because of this thread. I've had the time of my life and I owe it all to poo. Footballers rimming and all that. Outrageous drama.

Not my job, I'm not a clever PR executive.

Good cop out fella. Not even the old boy Saddam used to wheel out back in the day to speak to the western media could put a positive spin on this.

Well they could by demonstrating they will not tolerate racism by making an example of their own academy players by executing them on live thai tv, therefore helping to stamp racism out in football.
