UpTheLeagueFox Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 It's a thumbs up from me, too. It was probably posted on here at the time but I liked this tweet from LCFC http://twitter.com/OfficialFOXES/status/602479689907732480
Jaspa Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 Honestly thought that was the end of his here, his age really hasnt been an issue but for that reason I thought he'd be off to Anderlecht or some Polish team to see out his days. He obviously relishes a challenge and as we all saw hes more than up to it. A very hard, determined worker with unique attributes. A real plus to the squad.
Hollism Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 Over the moon about this. He's a top bloke and a huge asset to the team. I honestly dread to think where we'd be without him.
Wymsey Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 If he got 'shown the exit door', Wasil would've damaged it with sheer brutality. So, due to security premise concerns, this was why he was given another contract off the field.
WiFoxes Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 Love Wasyl and am confident he can give us at least 1 or 2 more good seasons. Really like the way things are progressing. Hoping for Huth to be next.
foxinsox Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 I love the guy. His psycho persona scares the opposition, but actually he is very controlled with it. The referee sees very little of what he gets up to which is why so few cards. Fuchs sounds good too. Trust in Nige!
OLD norfox Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 I'm not keen on these one year deals with an option of a one year extension for ageing players. GTF exercised his option to extend and it turned in to a year when he was paid by the club for very little in return. I appreciate Wasyl may not have agreed to sign the contract without this clause, but do the club really think he has two full years of PL football left in him? You can tell it to Wasyl yourself, I wouldn`t !
fuchsntf Posted 5 June 2015 Posted 5 June 2015 The great escape, started has he came back into the fold, he was often that speck of light, in our avg performances. my POS. Time will tell if he can complete a full season, or how Nigel will handle his game time. For me until some drastic change, He is my 1st name on the teamsheet. To the posters on this forum, who believed he wouldnt be up for it, automatic red card candidate, too slow, etc, etc. ....Thank god NP is our manager...!!! I still believe even now with the positive posts over Marcin, that hes been grossly underrated .Huth would not have had such an easy passage, or shown consistent performances without him.Morgan would not have had his great eos. run in without Wasi.
HighPeakFox Posted 5 June 2015 Posted 5 June 2015 Although still a fillip for him no doubt with it being at Old Trafford, the fact that his first goal for us was the consolation in a 3-1 defeat still gripes. The ensuing goonage if it had been a late winner or even equaliser would have gone down in the Club's history. True, although it helped preserve the 'not losing by more than 2 goals' stat - so in that sense not meaningless at least....
Bert Posted 5 June 2015 Posted 5 June 2015 It's not down to the player whether the one-year option gets exercised or not it's down to the club. If Pearson doesn't feel that Wasilewski is up to it next year then he can be releaed at the end of the year. GTF was given his contract as it was appearance based rather than performance based, if it was solely down to Pearson's judgement it may well have been a different result last summer.I take it you've read the contract then? Of course it's down to the player - at the end of the day he will be the one that chooses to sign the next contract or not.
David Hankey Posted 5 June 2015 Posted 5 June 2015 Although over the so-called hill in footballing terms I'm pleased he signed up for a further 12 months as he was one of our better players last season.
Suffolk exile Posted 5 June 2015 Posted 5 June 2015 Brilliant news! I think we need him to go around to Cambiassio and Huth's place and 'apply some pressure' so that they sign too! I would imagine he could make them sign........he can be very persuasive!
Dickov22 Posted 6 June 2015 Posted 6 June 2015 Good news, whereas Huth got many of the plaudits during our run Wasyl was also very important - an unsung hero. Dickov22 won't be happy Have to admit he did very well for us second half of the season and deserves another year. I'd be surprised if he was in the starting 11 next season, but very solid back up.
Raj Posted 6 June 2015 Posted 6 June 2015 Wasyl was awesome at times towards the end of season.Defo deserved tge contract extension.Hugh has been a great influence in the defence dept...have we signed him yet?
Guest Posted 6 June 2015 Posted 6 June 2015 Played excellently last season. Very happy to see him signed up for another season. Now get Huth and Thorpe to fill out our CB options.
theessexfox Posted 6 June 2015 Posted 6 June 2015 Have to admit he did very well for us second half of the season and deserves another year. I'd be surprised if he was in the starting 11 next season, but very solid back up. Get ready for a surprise.
Stadt Posted 6 June 2015 Posted 6 June 2015 Get ready for a surprise. Why is Wasyl going to elbow him?
