4everfox Posted 7 June 2015 Posted 7 June 2015 Only people with zero knowledge of football are against Jamie Vardy being part of the England setup because they judge attackers on goals and goals alone, they do not do their research otherwise they would realise that he has the same amount of assists as Sergio Aguero and Alexis Sanchez. He is also in the top three players in the Premier League for clear chances created. It is nothing less then a hard earned call up getting moaned about by other clubs fans because they are bitter that dross players like Jason Puncheon aren't being called up instead, I'm looking at you Palace fans!
AyewJoking Posted 7 June 2015 Posted 7 June 2015 I wonder how the FA would react if Hodgson started Vardy and Austin. There is probably pressure on him to field the big names in these meaningless friendlies. (mainly financial reasons).
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 7 June 2015 Posted 7 June 2015 Really pleased for Jamie lad to get his first England appearance under his belt. Was at work so missed it but glad for him
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 7 June 2015 Posted 7 June 2015 Glad he got on. To be honest if anyone's got a right to a gripe it's not Vardy for how much time he got but instead Austin who got nothing after a great season in a terrible side. The fact Vardy got on instead of him is possibly an indication that Hodgson has been impressed with what he's seen since Vardy joined the set-up.
Vlad the Fox Posted 7 June 2015 Posted 7 June 2015 89 mins Vardy looks (again) to make a run into the channel giving England an opportunity to stretch an organised Irish back line and attack the penalty box or put a cross in. Barkley spots the run, but instead of opting to release the Leicester party thrower, knocks a five yard pass inside into a crowded area of the pitch. The ball is slowly moved across the edge of the penalty area before a mistake, poor control by Jones, concedes a throw to the Irish. They had attack minded players on the pitch but the rest of the squad continued with their conservative possession game therefore not daring any risky passes that might affect their opta stats, as a result Vardy and the other forwards were feeding off scraps due to this unwillingness to play the balls to open up the Irish. One thing I've realised watching premier league football this season is how poor the England players and team is, probably the worst I've ever seen. For these fans to complain about Vardy is laughable when they'll then rave about the dross that consistently bores us to tears, if they knew more about his game they'd understand where he could fit in.

On the face of it Vardy's not really got much of a technique about him so that's another thing that'll go against him. He'll have a reputation of a headless chicken from the lower leagues but he's actually a very good mover. Intelligent runs to go with his pace. Anyone who's slagging Vardy off today rather than the front three who started is an idiot.
justfoxes Posted 7 June 2015 Posted 7 June 2015 The amount of flack he's got from the braindead ***** on twitter is astonishing, you'd think he was the worst player on the pitch looking at themThat's why they're on tw@et bunch of moronic knobs Jamie Vardy had more passion in the 15 min he was on than most of them primal donnas who no longer play for the pride of putting on that 3lions shirt but for the wonga !What has happened to the pride and bull dog spirit of years gone by the psycho the Adams Gazza etc there just is no bull dog spirit anymore ' Rooney as captain was poor sterling Barkley and the rest were awful I nearly fell asleep watching this piss poor performance they treated the game more like a training game rather than a competitive friendly we play like that against Slovenia next week and we will have our asses handed to us on a plate ! Soy should have changed things round put Vardy and Austin on for the start of the second half I actually think he forgot to bring on the subs and then when he did he bought on players he knows all about instead of the new lads I think Woy has had his day time for a change ! But well done Jamie FOOKING Vardy your first 15 min in an England team you did very well buddy pity the rest of the squad didn't have your passion !!

shailen Posted 7 June 2015 Posted 7 June 2015 Not really sure why Leicester fans are having a go at people talking about why he's been included in the squad. It was us, Leicester fans, that dismissed him being good enough for the Championship two seasons ago, so we can't say anything about other fans having a go at him. What Vardy needs to do is to prove that he is good enough, and I think he did okay when he came on. Naturally a player from Leicester, isn't as fashionable as a Chelsea or United player. So if they don't do anything amazing they will be criticised. Finally, I hope people are joking about dropping Rooney. Yes he was poor today, but he still is England's best player and one of United's best players this season. The problem atm is that he has to do too much. He is dropping deep and trying to set attacks up and also be in the box trying to score goals. The midfield looks to be a problem currently, and only Carrick and Wilshere can be regarded as quality midfielders atm. They need to be back to give Rooney the confidence to do his job up front with Welbeck and Walcott/Sterling on the wings.

I've not wrote vardy off and I haven't had a pop at anyone for criticising the squad.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 7 June 2015 Posted 7 June 2015 Rooney is the king with no clothes. Absolutely fvcking useless. Not close to the top 25-50 players in world football and he's on 300k a week. Farcical.
shailen Posted 7 June 2015 Posted 7 June 2015 Why do you need to include us as a collective? I've not wrote vardy off and I haven't had a pop at anyone for criticising the squad. I know it sounded like I'm having a go at all Leicester fans, but when some of our own fans were not sure if he was good enough for the championship two seasons back, then surely we cannot expect other fans to appreciate that he's good enough for England, especially when you look at his stats. Obviously we know he brings more than goals, and let's hope he shows that for England, but from the outside he doesn't look like an England player. I think he fully justifies a call up, but for people that do not watch us and rely on stats, he is an easy target to pick on because people do not know what he brings.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 7 June 2015 Posted 7 June 2015 Jagielka constantly looks like someone who has just unlocked their front camera on their phone by accident.
Dan Posted 7 June 2015 Posted 7 June 2015 Our fans have actually seen Vardy play more than 3 times which is more than a lot of those slagging him off can say. No-one, not a single fan of ours can say they saw this coming after seeing him in 12/13.

shailen Posted 7 June 2015 Posted 7 June 2015 We didn't, but fleetwood did and showed it by putting a bonus if he plays for England in his contract Fair play to Fleetwood, but I do feel that clause was there as an added bonus if it did happen to either party. We knew he'd be worth more than £10m when you become an England player and they would cash in with the 200k bonus i believe. Fleetwood were more than happy with the £1m we gave them, and this was just used to sweeten the deal. Remember that was a record at the time for a non-league player.

foxes_rule1978 Posted 7 June 2015 Posted 7 June 2015 Vardy was England's best player if you looked at the game overall... Townsend too
