Is this bloke linked or what? Shit has got real. He resigned from the THIRD tier of US football as he has accepted a job at the highest level in the UK. His ex teammate has tweeted congratulating him on his appointment at Leicester. I am sat in a cold bath sobbing.

I've defended the owners on numerous occasions but if this really does happen then it goes to show that they are all the things that I thought they weren't. Yes its fickle but this is unprecedented, its just bizarre in the extreme. When the owners sat back and stood by a man that they could've sacked (and I'm talking at numerous times last season for footballing reasons) then I thought fair play, these have something about them - maybe they have learnt. This however, would just be insane. There is literally not a single logic to appointing a bloke who hasn't managed successfully at a level anywhere near what we're even at, let alone aiming for. It would blow the "progressive club" and "ambition" arguments out the water before you could even say Preki, let alone his ****ing full name. I'm all for plucking someone out of obscurity, but this would be just madness. Utter, utter madness. I'm more talking of Jocelyn Gourvennec - that would be a positive move as he's quite clearly building something at a smaller club than ourselves. There's reason to believe that he could come in and do a good job here. Preki might go on to be a very good manager for all we know - but he'll get there by working his way up gradually, not shooting up to a club where he's blatantly not going to command the respect of the players or fans. He'll end up being a joke figure through no real fault of his own. If he came in and succeeded, it would be a miracle. You cannot rely on miracles all of the time. I've probably written too much about something that we'll probably look back and laugh on as one of the silliest rumours ever, but if they appoint this bloke then they've lost all support from me.
