Don't you know, he's on the panel of 5. That's how he knows all this. He's just criticizing himself. lol

Come on then name the suspected panel of 5 and have look at their football expertise.

Happy with this appointment. The highest profile manager in our history. Exciting times ahead me thinks.

Sven?

Please don't be another Sven.

Muzzy on SSN at the minute is being pushed into calling this a shitty appointment by Jim White and he's having none of it. Sounds like he actually knows what's what and is astute enough to say that even though fans would possibly have wanted Lennon or O'Neill that we need to get behind Ranieri. He also pointed out that Ranieri can attract big names but that's not necessarily not what we need. We need survival first and foremost.

Love that guy.

The fan's wanted Lennon?  Did you stop listening after that?

I'm not enthusiastic about this tbh. He's never struck me as very inspiring. Let's face it though, this is more the first bloke than wanted it, rather than our first choice. I don't think many City fans will be filled with confidence after the last couple of weeks.

As I said in other threads, we need to be moving forward season after season, I hope he can help us with that. If we stutter towards lower mid-table/bottom 3 for too long we risk losing our best players and stagnating.

Hopefully, Ranieri will play to our strengths and we'll play some good positive football. This is of course imperative if we are to avoid struggling.

We'll see, but I'm not really sure what to expect from this season.

wait...hold on...kitchandro not enthusiastic? WTF.

My concern is we've got rid of a young, hungry manager and appointed what many fans consider a footballing dinosaur.  Risky.

It is a shame that Pearson is not going to be around.

He may or may not have secured or taken us to another level. Yes he was young and hungry and sad that he gave the board reasons to terminate his contract after showing him so much patience.

Re footballing Dinosaur..we'll see

It's always a nervous time when a new manager comes in. Would be the same in reality if we had appointed anyone, even Klopp. All we can do is support him and the team irrespective of our concerns and form some valid opinions once he has some games under his belt.

I've been watching this site all effing day, then I get up to make some dinner having concluded nothing more was to be learnt of the plane spotting, and I come back to 13 pages of confirmation we have a new manager. lol

Fantastic news! I am elated to have Claudio Ranieri confirmed as our new manager, a man with vast experience.

At last I can look forward with renewed confidence, to a great new era, for Leicester City. :yesyes::yahoo::celebrate:

He's not hear to get rid of immigrants

Rubbish from Cottee, Rubbish from Redknapp, Rubbish from the negative fans.

Hes been chosen, maybe even 1st choice for a few weeks who knows..

Another thing I would like to make another point.

Cambiasso trains of thought should now take a back seat.We have a new manager, he will look at the squad, he will listen to advice from present BR staff, but in the end its his thoughts and wishes, that now take priority.

He , Claudio ( not I Claudius) will be looking for his own players, he may realise Cambiasso gives him consistency and sees fans wouldnt be against the choice of re-signing Esteban, but he might have younger players has midfield targets.

A new era begins, I wanted NP to stay, but he has gone just maybe also Esteban into retirement.

Ranieri begins his life and era at our beloved club, lets give him our support, and keep the negatives on hold.Give him time, and space to establish himself, and his style. He might find something in the squad that Pearson missed.

He will TINKER, not because of his history, but because he is a new manager, and he need to find out his best 15 players, doing no more than any new coach/manager, needs to do.

this must have been on the cards days ago surely if hes with the team right now (according to pictures!)

Seriously, we have attracted a manager of proven ability and high stature, the kind of which we would previously only have dreamed of and some people aren't happy.

Given who we could have ended up with I am more than happy.

At the very least, get behind the team... including the manager and give the man a chance before judging him.

Is he fluent in English yet?

From what I recall while at Chelsea he had an interrupter, and one who made things up apparently.

That must have been annoying.

There is an.onterview that has been posted on here quite a few times of him speaking perfectly good English, so it would seem he is pretty fluent now.

I'm not the one claiming to be in the know.....

Neither am I. What I am basing my opinion on is a number of well informed journalists who suggested that we had contacted O'Neill over the weekend yet it broke down. It also appears there was an interest in Hiddink as well. However as time drew on they went with the only guy who said he'd have it.

Where was the back up plan given Pearson volatile nature? You'd think they would have a researched a shortlist ready in case of him leaving.

I don't think any of the journos would consider themselves well informed on this  lol
