potter3 Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 I don't understand cycling as a spectator sport. Can't think of anything more boring than watching 100's of people cycle 100's of KMs over the course of a day and they guy who win still isn't in the lead. Also don't understand, and maybe a fan can enlighten me on this, the whole idea of a team in road cycling. Whenever I've heard people talk about the Tour de France I hear them mention Froome having important helpers or deputies was one word used, in certain stages. Eg saying Thomas (not sure if it is him) would be a helpful member of his team during the mountain stage. Surely you get on the bike and the fastest over all at the end of the 21 days wins, what's Thomas doing in the mountain stages to help Froome. Not a fan, but the helpers take turns being front, then the others use his draft to conserve energy. The top rider will never be at the front until the final stretch, so that he can keep as much energy in reserve as possible.

How people watch that is beyond my understanding

SystonFox Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 I don't (and never have) understood why the thread in the lcfc forum is called "do they mean us thread?" Do they mean us?! What does that even mean...
purpleronnie Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 People who want to live in London Yeah one of the greatest cities in the world, why would people want to live there.
J.Lisemore Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 Yeah one of the greatest cities in the world, why would people want to live there. Depends on the person really. I wouldn't want to live there either, far too busy for me.
The Doctor Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 I don't (and never have) understood why the thread in the lcfc forum is called "do they mean us thread?" Do they mean us?! What does that even mean... As in, is it us they're talking about? Seems fairly straightforward.
ScouseFox Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 Yeah one of the greatest cities in the world, why would people want to live there. it's way too big, everyone there is a dick, you have to get the fking tube everywhere, most of it stinks like shit and its roughly 9000 times more expensive than anywhere else in the country. sounds bliss.
ozleicester Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 ....when i tell people im a vegetarian, they feel the need to tell me about the last piece of carcass they devoured.

I walked to Lord's the other day, down past the Abbey Road zebra crossing. Can't do that in Leicester or Liverpool. I wouldn't want to bring up kids in London but it is an amazing place to live while you're young.

Swarles Barkley Posted 26 July 2015 Author Posted 26 July 2015 I don't (and never have) understood why the thread in the lcfc forum is called "do they mean us thread?" Do they mean us?! What does that even mean... Yes this! So many times I look at the title and get confused. All the links are clearly about us so the title makes no sense. The "others talking about us thread" Maybe?
maynefox Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 People, who don't have large families, but drive big 4x4s in a city. Why?
foxfanazer Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 People being on facebook whilst on holiday Chavs! It's got to be the worst trend ever. Thats if its classed as a trend? Funny seeing lads wearing hoodies with their hoods up when its 30 degrees outside
Rincewind Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 People, who don't have large families, but drive big 4x4s in a city. Why? Because they don't have four kids andtherefore probably can afford one.
Samilktray Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 As mind blowing as it might be, people with kids can also afford to drive 4x4s.
lavrentis Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 I don't understand people who value material possessions more than happiness and experiences. Material possessions !== happiness
ScouseFox Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 most people buy material possessions because they make them happy
Stadt Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 Yeah when I get some brand new material possessions I feel happier
