GaelicFox Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 Comparing Inler to Balotelli! They are miles apart in terms of attitude, professionalism and character. I really do hope some of the overly reactionary comments on here will come back to haunt the ones in question. No I didnt ..... The Doctor Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 No I didnt ..... But if your reading it taht way balotelli has 4 league championship medals in proper leaguev , two cups and numerous other awards , he is a loony , a total box of frogs But has skill and tallent players like Inler can only dream of Skill is nothing without application. Balotelli has an attitude problem, Inler doesn't. Inler is just off the pace, which is no surprise when Italian football is so much slower. He'll obviously come good once he's got himself up to speed.
The Guvnor Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3205255/Gokhan-Inler-Leicester-s-Diego-Maradona-says-Foxes-boss-Claudio-Ranieri.html I don't see this donkey being benched anytime soon ! Manager is blinded by him ciming from Italy So did balotelli and at one stage we nearly had that tool here as well Claudio has something amazing going on , but can he actually see it Could be Leicesters Diego Maradona fvck me Inler must be CR's love child
inckley fox Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 Comparing Inler to Balotelli! They are miles apart in terms of attitude, professionalism and character. I really do hope some of the overly reactionary comments on here will come back to haunt the ones in question. I think a lot of it is a bit too quick to condemn him, yes, but when you sign a 31 year-old for the first team, I think it's normal to expect him to step up quickly. And, in this case, he's looked so at odds with what's good about our game (I say 'what's good-' because there were other players who cost us in that first half too) and we've been so much stronger without him - partly because of him and partly because of others - that he's going to have to improve fast if he's to feature in the first team much more. That's not to say that he won't. Look at how long it took Cottee at a similar age. But I understand that if people have watched him more than I have for the past couple of years, and this is indicative of a downturn in his game, then they might reasonably predict that this isn't looking good. Fingers crossed they're wrong.
Carl the Llama Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 You guys realise that's an article from a month ago, right? Just making sure.
Sharpe's Fox Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 Not been very good but what can expect from a non-Nige signing same with Benneh they're both pretty pish.
Jimmy Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 Not been very good but what can expect from a non-Nige signing same with Benneh they're both pretty pish. Inler had been on the radar since before Ranieri was appointed

mundella boy Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 Give the bloke a break, only two games in.What were any of us like at a new job in a new country?
blueharmie Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 I didn't even think he played that Badly? Just needs time to adjust.
wokinghamfox Posted 20 September 2015 Author Posted 20 September 2015 I didn't even think he played that Badly? Just needs time to adjust.Surely this is a wind up?
Thracian Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 Skill is nothing without application. Balotelli has an attitude problem, Inler doesn't. Inler is just off the pace, which is no surprise when Italian football is so much slower. He'll obviously come good once he's got himself up to speed. As a young manager I'd have relished the challenge of Balotelli but, in the end, you learn that with 'most all attention-seeking, need-to-be-loved or reactionary individuals, you'll get as much pain as pleasure. George Best and Gazza were prime examples.
Great Boos Up Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 I never heard people say give Kingy, Moore or Dodoo time but then they're from the bargain basement! Let's compare Inler with Kante. They've had pretty much the same opportunity. Kante's always looked fit, fast and committed. He displayed an ability and desire to fit into the team from day one. He played his first part-time cameo and looked the part. His next was no different. Against Villa he was instrumental in changing the game and was arguably our star man today. Most everyone wants him in the team and that includes me. Inler in the same period has not even improved from what I've seen. He still looks lethargic...a potential pass-master in everything except delivering the ball to a blue shirt and about as energised as the metal bollards beside my market stall. Does it please me to say this? No. I'd love to sing the praises of everyone who pulls on a City shirt. But while his weaknesses seem glaring I've searched in vain for his strengths within the context of our team and, so far, can seen nothing that is more than a veiled illusion. Okay i didn't rave about Cambiasso to start with and still maintain that he had his faults. But the bloke had class. He read the game, inspired people around him, gave them self-belief and saw the pictures admirably. To compare the two is laughable. Cambiasso might have gone, but he embraced this team while he was here and gave them guidance in every way he could. Inler just seems to be in cruise control - a man in England whose heart is still on the continent. Thank you for comparing Inler with Kante. Two players who we fought hard to sign in the wake of Cambiasso's exit because we were desperate the strengthen the midfield and have cover for Drinky and King. Both covered over a hundred pages in their threads and we got our men. Hindsight is easy, and it's so easy to state he's a dud; but what lessons have we learned from courting foreign players for what was then perhaps an unfashionable club expected to fight for relegation?
Jackster21 Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 Give the lad time to settle in at Leicester and get used to the play of the pl, and then he'll start to play better hopefully.
Thracian Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 Give the lad time to settle in at Leicester and get used to the play of the pl, and then he'll start to play better hopefully. I love that word "hopefully" - but it's so forlorn!
Countryfox Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 Give the lad time to settle in at Leicester and get used to the play of the pl, and then he'll start to play better hopefully. He's got as long as it takes before one or more of those currently above him in the pecking order loses form/gets injured or whatever ... Just hope like you he's ready then !!!
seenitall Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 - love this, the guy has had about an hour and half on the pitch for us and we're shipping him out, despite him being an International captain and playing for a top European side last year - we're so great it's unbelievable, bring on the delusions of grandeur!!!

So how do you think he's played so far - compared to Kante and all the time he's had?
inckley fox Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 So how do you think he's played so far - compared to Kante and all the time he's had? More to the point, how much more first team playing time can you give him when that stat, as much as it might over-simplify matters, is staring you full in the face? Namely, that over 180 minutes he's played 105 of them in which we've conceded 4 / scored 0, while in the other 75 we've scored 5 / conceded 0? Like I say, it's a huge over-simplification of matters - Inler has by no means been our number one culprit over those games - but when you're a side like Leicester and a player appears to be costing you, you can't mess around either. If he were 23 that could be a little different. But you don't sign 31 year-olds, as a rule, who are going to need half a season in the side before they look the part. There's time yet, but not much.
HighPeakFox Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 I'm glad none of us in in charge - we don't know the half of it.
chapero82 Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 When Matty James returns Inler won't even make it on the bench
inckley fox Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 I'm glad none of us in in charge - we don't know the half of it. Do we ever know the half of it? When we're slapping Big Nige or Claudio on the back for a tactical masterstroke or whatever, do we know the half of it then? We can only ever go on the half of it, or whatever fraction, that we do know. And if we didn't voice an opinion on that we wouldn't need a forum!
Harry - LCFC Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 - love this, the guy has had about an hour and half on the pitch for us and we're shipping him out, despite him being an International captain and playing for a top European side last year - we're so great it's unbelievable, bring on the delusions of grandeur!!! He's had about 200 minutes, so yeah, bit out there. Apart from his cameo against Spurs he's been mediocre and at present I don't want him to start ahead of Kante or Drinkwater. That's not to say he won't come good eventually but right now he isn't our best option.
