Steve Earle Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Next time we play a top four side, expect him to start alongside Drinky & Kante...
desertfox2 Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Think Ranieri will play him in home games only until he settles.
NGoloMode Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 whilst form is a big part of picking the team. Our squad is now good enough where we can pick teams to nullify opposition threats and expose their weaknesses. IMO Inler should be the player to close down threats like Orzil He doesn't work hard enough. Kante could do that sort of job if needed I think.
filbertstreet Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 pretty sure we only signed him because his name sounds funny fuchs inler kante
coolhandfox Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 We will need everyone over the season, his time will come!
Thracian Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 I think defensively he's pretty good, wins the ball back well, however after that it seems like his head goes and he can't remember how to pass the ball, some of the long balls he tried on Tuesday were ridiculously short, in time I think he will come good, just not had a good start I'm as open to conversion as anyone but defensively pretty good? Not from anything I've seen. He's what I think of as a nebulous rather than domineering player. He's to football what mist and fog patches are to the weather. You never know what's next. One moment he's gracing the ground and looking assured. The next he's giving the ball away with an ambitious but ill-judged pass. Another moment he's dominating exchanges in the centre. Close your eyes for a second and he's completely lost a runner and we've conceded a goal. Right now I've no idea which aspects are going to prevail.

In my head you sound like David Attenborough, but I still don't understand what you are trying to say. (constructive complement from an idiot) A good buy or not?

(constructive complement from an idiot) A good buy or not? Exactly - I don't know. He has a certain presence but it's not long before flaws become apparent. I can understand that he might need time to focus his footballing sights before spraying all his passes accurately. But left unfocused he presents a danger and the more so when he sits in that vital space in front of the back four yet shows such inconsistency in tracking runners. Because in that position such mistakes are too often punished and just one mistake can take two goals to put right.

Ignore his CV, based on what we have seen ... Bad buy
Jam Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 How much longer will he be happy sitting on the bench? He must be so dissapointed.
Guest Col city fan Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 Said it weeks ago. If Inler is going to get into this side and perform well he MUST get quicker. The Prem is quick, we are very quick. That's the basis of our success. Inler isn't. I'm glad Ranieri has had the minerals to drop him.
Great Boos Up Posted 3 October 2015 Posted 3 October 2015 So. Get with the pace or sell on at Christmas!?
Vardinhio Posted 4 October 2015 Posted 4 October 2015 Not sure we would get much of a transfer fee. I suspect he will give it a full season and reassess things then.

I really don't think Inler is up to it and don't think he will ever be. He doesn't have the hunger the other CM's do.
Babylon Posted 4 October 2015 Posted 4 October 2015 Come on boys ... He just can't cut the mustard .... Ignore his CV, based on what we have seen ... Bad buyThe bloke has hardly played, bit to early to be saying if it was a good or bad buy.
Dickov22 Posted 4 October 2015 Posted 4 October 2015 I think people forget it's only October. Who'd have thought Simpson would be starting a game? (I don't think he should but anyway). Start of the season he wasn't even making the squad. Things can change very quickly in football and you also have injuries, suspensions etc. I'm sure he'll get plenty more opportunities and I'm sure he's a good player.
roblcfc84 Posted 4 October 2015 Posted 4 October 2015 Inler will be fine - football is a squad game. As football fans we are so impulsive in our opinions - i recall a time when most lcfc fans thought vardy was crap. He is clearly no mug, but whilst we are winning he is not going to get in. Give him time...
dannythefox Posted 4 October 2015 Posted 4 October 2015 I'm sure he'll be fine the problem is we've got some quality in midfield so it will be hard to get a run of games. I'm sure over the season he will get his chance.
ronnup Posted 4 October 2015 Posted 4 October 2015 We're going to want to change our approach at some point for some games. He'll be given more chances and I'm willing to at least accept he may well blossom.
MC Prussian Posted 5 October 2015 Posted 5 October 2015 Personally, I was a bit surprised he didn't start or at least feature against Arsenal. Tailor-made opposition for him, that.
johnny the fox Posted 5 October 2015 Posted 5 October 2015 Come on boys ... He just can't cut the mustard .... Ignore his CV, based on what we have seen ... Bad buy I love a knee jerk write off..........thanks....... I got hard off that..
ScouseFox Posted 5 October 2015 Posted 5 October 2015 Personally, I was a bit surprised he didn't start or at least feature against Arsenal. Tailor-made opposition for him, that. in what way would an even faster paced game where we had even less of the ball and played even more on the break than normal be tailor made for him? isnt that literally all the opposite of everything he's meant to be good at? if he's even good at anything, which he isn't based on the two months he's been here.

I think he's great at breaking up play and slowing down the speed of the game by trying to retain possession and that would've come in handy. We were simply overrun in that game and ultimately paid the price for trying to keep up with the Joneses, so to speak.
EGBFitness Posted 5 October 2015 Posted 5 October 2015 I love how just because he isn't fast he isn't good enough Pace is obviously a good asset to have especially with our style of play but whatever happened to a player reading a game? This is a guy who's played champions league, UEFA cups, major world tournaments captianing his country but few appearances and not being very fast and we should be selling him asap Cambiasso wasn't very fast but look at how we loved him! Inler is probably faster than him!? Not sure how much of a pre-season he got at Napoli as Italian league is few weeks behind but I'm sure once he is settle, got some game time and sussed the English game we will all be singing his praises.
