Bob Farley Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 Give him more game time. WHU on Tuesday, in the cup, he should start. This.
Bayfox Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 At the minute kante looks the much better bet. Suits the way we play and the premier league. However think we are all remembering the cambiasso of the end of the season. He took time to settle. Let's not write inler off yet. Playing in the cup for 90mins tuesday could help.
Thracian Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 I think CR is intent on changing how we play, akin to the Italian way slowly but surely and there's no doubt that he bought Inler in to progress that unfortunately for many reasons, not just down to Inler we keep going behind thus forcing this high tempo get up and at em response. Haha he can keep the Italian way, learn to embrace the English way and love the journey. Attitude, fast passing and shots from all angles. He says he wants this to be his last job and how else would you want to remember your last job but by putting smiles on faces and playing football to remember!
filbertstreet Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 Anyone reckon he'll be gone by January then?
Thracian Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 Giving him time. He's come from a league where the game is played at a different pace. We have exceptionally high fitness levels compared to most clubs but he's not at his best at the minute and we can't afford to carry him so he shouldn't be playing. I remember when Albrighton came he was one of the fittest at Villa but was way down the pecking order here. I never heard people say give Kingy, Moore or Dodoo time but then they're from the bargain basement! Let's compare Inler with Kante. They've had pretty much the same opportunity. Kante's always looked fit, fast and committed. He displayed an ability and desire to fit into the team from day one. He played his first part-time cameo and looked the part. His next was no different. Against Villa he was instrumental in changing the game and was arguably our star man today. Most everyone wants him in the team and that includes me. Inler in the same period has not even improved from what I've seen. He still looks lethargic...a potential pass-master in everything except delivering the ball to a blue shirt and about as energised as the metal bollards beside my market stall. Does it please me to say this? No. I'd love to sing the praises of everyone who pulls on a City shirt. But while his weaknesses seem glaring I've searched in vain for his strengths within the context of our team and, so far, can seen nothing that is more than a veiled illusion. Okay i didn't rave about Cambiasso to start with and still maintain that he had his faults. But the bloke had class. He read the game, inspired people around him, gave them self-belief and saw the pictures admirably. To compare the two is laughable. Cambiasso might have gone, but he embraced this team while he was here and gave them guidance in every way he could. Inler just seems to be in cruise control - a man in England whose heart is still on the continent.
65RosesFox Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 enough with the knocking. City fans - always finding smething to complain about. Remember the rave reviews when he played against England. He's a class player who has played 2 half games. Get over yourselves! I see it as he's started two games, been subbed in both and we have performed better in both those games when he's been off the pitch. We can't always get it right with our signings and I'm afraid Inler and Kramaric are two that aren't living up to expectations .... Yeah yeah yeah they are quality this and they'll get there that but I've not seen anything yet to suggest that. And how good they are for Switzerland means jack shit cus were talking prem .... The best league in the world.Kramaric is completely different, he's never been given a real opportunity. If you started him five games in a row with another striker you would see he is a very good striker. It concerns me that both Inler and Okazaki are still starting games when their performances haven't been great recently.
volpeazzurro Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 I'm suprised people even thought he played well against England , for me in the first half he moved from side to side and was a total passenger only slightly improving in the second. I understand he may be off the pace and should be given another chance against West Ham . No improvement and we've got far better already in King until he can (if he can) catch up. Certain Napoli fans commented that he was being replaced as he was starting to go down hill even in their slow paced game. Kante appears so far to be the only player better than what we already had out of the summer signings for me. Fuchs, Krameric, King, Ulloah and Benlouane all need a full game either to give them a chance or keep them sharp.
Tuna Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 I can see the headline 'contract terminated by mutual consent' within a year.
Weller in Tights Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 I think Matt Elliott got it right on Radio Leicester. Inler looks like 'a stroller'. That gives two problems. Firstly, the Premiership isn't for 'strollers'. Even the best passers of the ball are generally quick, fit players. Secondly, we aren't a 'strolling' team. We are a team that always look best playing at a high tempo, getting the ball forward quickly and winning midfield battles. We are a decent 'battling' side. Inler has got to pick up the pace, or he's gone I think. If he can start attuning to our style of play AND the Premiership, he'll be ok. After our many debates over the merits of Cambiassio, I sincerely hope Inler goes on to be an integral part of our premiership survival this year. I fear he may not adjust to the premier league pace, but I hope I am wrong as many pundits that know a lot more than us, have said he is a class player. Let's see how things pan out.
GaelicFox Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 Two Swiss championships and two shitty cups in Italy in his whole career JESUS Cambiassio won more in a couple of seasons I dont get this guy at all and I dont get the blind belief he will come good World class....your having a laugh Looks way out of his depth and his presence on field is costing us goals ! When he comes off we score for fun Time to bench him
MC Prussian Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 It's knee-jerk central again. And the time to draw simplistic conclusions.
GaelicFox Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 In our last 180 mins of Football Goals scored with Inler on the pitch, 0. Goals conceded 4.Goals scored without Inler on the pitch, 5. Goals conceded, 0.

GorlestonFox Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 He was no worse than Drinkwater today.

The Doctor Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 Can we get a refund? Nope, not inler terms and conditions, read the fine print.
fuchsntf Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 None of you are getting it...!!! Your all missing the point..... FFS all great top teams have that one player, whos a passenger. If we are to stay in the top 4 inler stay below avg., will be our lucky mascot, and win us the league cup. Plus Kramaric will not feel so alone...
Countryfox Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 He was no worse than Drinkwater today. Yes he was
HighPeakFox Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 Look, Ranieri is a class manager, and just wanted to buy us a higher class of scapegoat.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 Two Swiss championships and two shitty cups in Italy in his whole career JESUS Cambiassio won more in a couple of seasons I dont get this guy at all and I dont get the blind belief he will come good World class....your having a laugh Looks way out of his depth and his presence on field is costing us goals ! When he comes off we score for fun Time to bench him **** me give him some time. He's played just over 90 minutes of league football and a cup game. It's not 'blind belief he will come good' it's just standard practice for football fans that aren't morons to give new players a little space to bed in and get up to speed.
ian_marshall Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 I'm confident he'll come good eventually, just needs to get up to speed with the ferocity and pace of the Premier League. He shows flashes of brilliance at times like the through ball he threaded through the eye of the needle to De Laet yesterday. However his awareness seems to be the issue as he struggles to track runners as witnessed in both of the last two games and gets his pocket picked by the opposition quite frequently. If he cuts out these errors he'll be a good player, it's just a question of whether or not he can adjust his mental agility to the level required in the Premier League.
GaelicFox Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3205255/Gokhan-Inler-Leicester-s-Diego-Maradona-says-Foxes-boss-Claudio-Ranieri.html I don't see this donkey being benched anytime soon ! Manager is blinded by him ciming from Italy So did balotelli and at one stage we nearly had that tool here as well Claudio has something amazing going on , but can he actually see it
MC Prussian Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 Comparing Inler to Balotelli! They are miles apart in terms of attitude, professionalism and character. I really do hope some of the overly reactionary comments on here will come back to haunt the ones in question.
