January transfers, wish list, available etc.

Palace apparently activated his release clause of £22m. Would like him here but that's a lotta ££.

I read that they'd bid 11m but it was instantly rejected and Palace were told to match the release clause.

Good player but 22million is nuts but I suppose Jan transfer window is crazy.

We really did court Slimani last summer. Three or four bids I recall. Walsh must have pushed that hard and I'm sure we would all trust him  with our lives. He just didn't know who we were apart from PL relegation fodder. In the end the money went into Inler signing.

(At the time I thought we had got the better deal.)

Get on the phone to your mate Riyad and then l think we've got Europe.

Bust the bank and recoup on selling others.

We've already signed Demarai Gray ffs.

I'd rather the club took slightly longer a got the right players in for a good price. We've had to patient for some of the bigger deals in recent windows. Kante and Cambiasso were both protracted chases. I trust the powers that be to get the right players before the window closes.

It is so easy to pay over the odds in January, paying the kind of wages that messes up our wage structure, and unbalancing us so that fringe players become demotivated, knowing they are even further from the first 11.

As Claudio said, 'the star is the team', and that is the thing we must not lose in this window.

Having said that, I change my mind every day about the wisdom of various purchases.  :)  If Benny stays, we wont really need a CB. If any of the bench players have good games on Sunday we may feel differently about their status. I'm just not sure what to think. These are 'top team' issues, which I'm not used to considering...

I'm looking at a diagnosis of schizophrenia by the end of the month!

we are in a strong position financially and status wise im sure the club is actively looking, they would have to be exceptionally good to break into the starting 11 and  must be of the right personality to even become a squad member (ie nobig time charlies here)

Always liked Micah Richards and even though Villa are doing so bad I think he is still strong. Let's nick him.

Agree completely we would of had a cricket score against villa if it wasn't for Richards. Really rate him must be awful playing alongside Lescott.

Don't think he is good enough at Center Back, but would take him at right back. He sulks when he's not playing though, dunno if he'd fit with in our squad tbh

I'm surprised we haven't been linked with Amartey again, seems to fit the profile of player we're going after

He wasn't allowed to move in the summer due to his permit. Was due to not playing a high enough percentage of games. That might still be the case, so I don't think we will be in for him this window. But perhaps in the summer.

Higuain? Ranieri will obviously know all about him but would he be lured? It'd be a big spend but would almost garauntee 10-15 second half season goals.

Would h come though ?

Brilliant striker but no chance would he join us, even if we made the Champs League
