Bluearmyfox28 Posted 12 January 2016 Posted 12 January 2016 We have to sign this guy http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/surprise/profil/spieler/146329 I don't get it!
foxes21 Posted 12 January 2016 Posted 12 January 2016 Kevin Volland! Similar to Deeney, puts himself about. Would be great behind Vards!!!
steflcfc Posted 12 January 2016 Posted 12 January 2016 I agree Col there could be underlying reasons eg attitude etc for players to be unwanted at clubs. I just think regarding Gayle (for the right price) he will just want more first team football which I feel we may be able to offer him than palace. If 8/12m is correct then obviously it's a no go. Albrighton fell out of favour at villa and he has been a good steady player for us. Simpson also another player out of favour before and came here had his ups and downs and has found a bit of consistency after a run of games at the back. Just because some players fall out of favour at clubs don't mean a run of games won't get some finding the form they once had.

Sometimes clubs just end up with too many players in one position, and want to offload a good player because he's being paid to warm the bench.
GingerrrFox Posted 12 January 2016 Posted 12 January 2016 Gayle would be a very smart buy for us. He's very similar in skill set to Vardy. Fast, great work rate, hounds defenders, always looking to run in behind and isn't a one trick pony when it comes to finishing. I'd be surprised if we weren't taking a look at him
kingfox Posted 13 January 2016 Posted 13 January 2016 Dwight Gayle Don't want that mardy diving fvcker anywhere near our club.

GingerrrFox Posted 13 January 2016 Posted 13 January 2016 All those attributes yet hardly gets a sniff at palace who seemingly rate chamak ahead of him Palace play a 4-3-3 under Pardew and how he gets his striker to play is completely different to how we set up and Gayle simply doesn't fit the mould. Their first choice striker is Connor Wickham - big, strong, good in the air, holds the ball up well and brings other players into the game. His goal scoring record is abysmal but he's not in the team to score goals he's there to help feed the wingers in Bolasie/Zaha/Sako. Patrick Bamford barely played for Palace because he doesn't fit their style of play, does that make him a poor player? Gayle is simply in the wrong system much like Kramaric is here at Leicester. Gayle suits the way we play fast, counter attacking 4-4-2.
4everfox Posted 13 January 2016 Posted 13 January 2016 I'd rather we sign Marcus Gayle then Dwight Gayle.
Guest Posted 13 January 2016 Posted 13 January 2016 I have no idea if we should try for Gayle but I think people are overlooking how particular our setup is. We have to have players who are quick AND have great stamina. We don't hold possession so we spend a lot of the game closing players down, 1 player who can't do that kills our game (much like Dyer against spurs). We are very much a horses for courses team and why Kanté has transformed our team this season. If Gayle is as Ginger describes he sounds well-suited to us.
RobHawk Posted 13 January 2016 Posted 13 January 2016 Bony wasn't lazy when I saw him playing for Swansea - perhaps I just watched the wrong games! Strange that they seem to want him back so much although in their position I could imagine Father Christmas would be a decent signing as well. Maybe i've got it wrong - I'm celebrating the same birthday as Vardy today and growing old far too quickly - but Shinji impressed my more by getting himself into the box on Sunday and scoring than he often does when going to ground making token tackles in midfield. Yes, ideally there needs to be a balance but are you quite sure Bony would be unreceptive to that? He wouldn't be any more a star here than at Liverpool but surely his skills would be valuable in helping us in the final push towards Europe given our seemingly limited strike options. Out of possession, Bony does nothing but stroll around until the balls won back. For many teams, including Swansea they play a certain way that can allow this as long as he puts the ball in the back of net (remember Yakubu?) Our current style of play would not cater to this because of the high pressure and work rate we put in off the ball.

I don't think we should be going for players simply because they are transfer listed. Very often, they are transfer listed for a reason. Fortunately, I don't think this is usually City's approach. I think we do it the right way..identify targets and pay for them. Now watch us go and get Gayle!
lcfcbobby Posted 13 January 2016 Posted 13 January 2016 Think the only players we should get in now are youngsters! Ranieri has said he is looking at building for the future of Leicester city as well as building a good current squad!
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 13 January 2016 Posted 13 January 2016 if either Swansea or Sunderland do get relegated this year I would love us to make a move for either Sigurdson or especially Ayew from Swansea or Defoe from Sunderland all look like they could add something to our team.

Montero isnt bad. very direct
UPinCarolina Posted 14 January 2016 Posted 14 January 2016 With Arsenal's new purchase, does Wilshire become expendable and potentially hit the market?
Simo86 Posted 14 January 2016 Posted 14 January 2016 With Arsenal's new purchase, does Wilshire become expendable and potentially hit the market? I'm sure you could find somebody a lot cheaper to sit on the physio's treatment table
STUHILL Posted 14 January 2016 Posted 14 January 2016 I would take Dwight Gayle if the price was right. He has a lot of good attributes and would suit our style of play. Not sure it would be the best move for him though, as he would probably be considered our 4th striker with Claudio using Okazaki for his work rate and Ulloa for hold up play and defensive duties. I could see it being much the same of what he has at Palace unless Vardy were to be injured. Charlie Austin is the only one I can see that offers us something genuinely different and while some will argue he doesn't suit our play, others have said we don't have a plan B to break teams down and I think he is the type of striker who can change a game with his aerial threat or accurate snap shots. He will only be avaliable in the summer though as I think he is guaranteed a nice pay-out on a free transfer.
dorsetboy Posted 14 January 2016 Posted 14 January 2016 cheick tiote been told by mclaren he can find a new club now scouser shelvey has joined am i the only one that thinks he would be worth a pop as back up for kante and drinkwater as king is not so defensive and inler not quite got to grips with the prem

foxfanazer Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 Jonathan De Guzman. Class player and being linked with a move back to Swansea. Would love us to scupper that deal
