Standing away from home

Why do we most of the time have front section sitting down at away game kills the atmosphere when you have to have a ticket at the front , sure we're the only club who sit at the front -_- People should start standing up and getting it going and singing at least

The problem isn't with the 100 or so old dears that sit down, the problem is the 2000 there that aren't interested in singing for 90% of the tim and our obsession with singing a song stolen from a league 2 club.

We must be the only club that do this. If you want to stand, and I do, then don't get tickets near the front. Not everyone can stand for 90 minutes. Accept that. It doesn't "kill the atmosphere". We also have people that just seem to go to stare at and wind the opposition fans up, they're just as bad.

I was sat at the front yesterday. I normally stand away from home but in this instance I had several elderly women (literally seventies and above) and an old boy easily in his eighties behind me.

Oh and my dad is half blind and has no balance.

Basically, stop being a judgemental little twat and grow up.

I agree with Finner's, stop being a twat

Oh shutup I'm not trying to be like that at all if people have a disability Then of course they are gonna wanna sit down but we don't have 500 that are, the ones that sit down are Coz they have to around those that HAVE to sit down, the club shouldn't give tickets from front to back as I'm saying, it's stupid and kills the atmosphere , stop calling me judgemental when you're clearly doing it yourself - trying to act like I have no respect for people who can't stand or see - now that's being a **** !

Kills the atmosphere? Wasn't exactly a cauldron of noise up in the standing section.

At the end of the day this is an issue that needs to be addressed by the authorities or even just with a common sense approach from the club with regards to selling away tickets.

Out of a 3000 allocation have a block of 500 reserved for sitters and the rest for standers. If the sitting section sells out then tell them they might have to stand and the same for the standing section. But that won't happen as clubs and governments continue to ignore the problem.

You do realise we, like every other club's, have fans that are disabled/elderly and are unable to stand (even for a few seconds) to support their team?

Also, due to the above, they're entitled (obviously the physically disabled) to sit there due to the interests their and other's health and safety.

The lack of empathy from our fans can be ridiculous at times.

Read comments after ! It's not through a lack of empathy as I get those that HAVE to sit down !!!

What I'm saying is when u are forced to sit (because those around you want u to sit...and not those that sit for health reasons) it does kill the atmosphere not being able to jump around

And what you're saying is correct I agree. Would make a lot more sense.

Football needs to sort it out and have safe standing.

Missed several years of away games with my young boy as it has been pointless taking him as he cant see.

Luckily for the last few years he has been able to stand on his seat.

As a sitter, standers annoy the hell out of me. I buy a seat ticket and want to sit down and should be able too.

If you look at the West Stand, there are several senior people in there and I would assume most wouldn't bother going as the standers spoil it for them.

It's clear it needs sorting as standers won't sit, they are ruining it for the sitters and so football has got to be sensible about it and create safe standing areas wherever they can.

What about those who just want to sit down?  You are paying for a seat afterall.

Luckily the last few years people have starting standing so I can bask in that glorious atmosphere.

If you look at L1, there are several hoodlams in there and I would assume most wouldn't bother going as the sitters spoil it for them.

Standing alone doesn't make an atmosphere. Times I've been on the back row of an away end with hundreds of standers hardly joining in. A lot are way too self conscious and many don't wanna miss a kick. I'd say attitudes need to change but the vast majority don't give a shit.

Demanding people stand is as ignorant as demanding people sit. I've been to city games with my lads who are early 20's and my day in his 70's. He doesn't want to, nor probably has the stamina to stand throughout a game in a restricted seating area. Have the common sense to allow people their freedom of choice. I love to stand, but wouldn't inflict that if I was sat at the front and those behind clearly didn't want to stand, it just wouldn't be fair. I'd take myself up the stand and find a slot to stand in.

The worst is if you have someone sitting behind you but everyone behind them is standing as you're standing and they say "sit down" and you say "how about we swap seats then I can stand and you can sit" and they say "no I paid for this seat so I am staying here"

Now that is annoying.

I've had that happen before.

I was like well i've gave you an option, a solution and you've chosen not to take it.

I think out of respect I sat but then moved for the 2nd half.

You almost think well what is the point? I have offered a fair solution to the problem but some people can be so ridiculously stubborn.

Ever thought that the people who sit at the front do so on purpose as they can't stand for 90 minutes?

How many invalids support us? It's never an excuse for the clubs who have 100% standing ends.

Out of 3,000 I doubt there's any more than about 3 who physically can't stand for 45 minutes at a time.

You are able to, just buy a ticket at the front you prat.

Frankly though , I don't care what anyone says if you buy an away ticket it should be with the intention to stand. Away ends with people sitting are absolutely pathetic. Standing is the whole bloody point of going to an away game. If you're not there to be part of the away day atmosphere then you've got the wrong attitude.

People are just fvcking awkward and stubborn.

Don't talk out of your arse, there's more than 3 at every away game on coach 3. They go to all games as well.

Back on topic from what I saw on MOTD the front rows were all elderly fans, which makes sense.

As I've said before, if you've got a seat down there just go further back.

Odd how we have a load of cripples supporting us yet clubs like Man Utd, Liverpool, Man City, Newcastle and Leeds have zero.

Sorry, I just don't believe that.
