Standing away from home

If you struggle to stand then that's fair enough, but football is about passion and the fans and standing helps with that. Imagine what the atmosphere would be like at aways if everyone sits down, it wouldn't be worth going.

If people want to sit they can sit. Bitching and moaning about people who sit is nothing short of moronic in all seater stadiums, with terms and conditions of purchasing a ticket more often than not stating you must sit down. Like it or not, they have every right to sit down, it's those standing that are technically wrong. When there are standing areas again and when t's and c's state you must stand... then bitch away by all means.

Acting like you can't be passionate if you sit.... ffs. Bunch of fecking hormonal kids acting like there the first ones to be passionate about football. Been there, done it, grew up.

Playing devils advocate here, how many of the sitters are physically unable to stand for 45 minutes? I would guess at not many. Asking the chap to sit down in front of you if everyone around is standing is completely pointless, either you have to make everyone sit down up to a certain row, or non at all as you won't be able to see half the pitch if everyone to the right of you is standing.

Also I don't get the 'I paid for this seat argument.' You have paid to attend the fixture, not for the seat. You wouldn't go to the ground and sit in that seat if the game wasn't being played.

Some folk don't like standing. Is that so hard to comprehend??? You must be on the wind up with that post, alternatively I'd engage your brain....

And some people don't like sitting. At away games especially it is the expectation that you will be standing. I am not against sitting by any means, but I wouldn't sacrifice my view not being able to see the game by sitting just so the chap behind has a better view. And when everyone around is standing it is unreasonable to sit and expect someone to accommodate you. The same if everyone around is sitting and you want to stand, it's equally unreasonable.

Well having read through the thread I have come to the obvious conclusion that Kitchandro is a complete and utter cvnt. But we knew that already.

You know you could just join a choir?

So we're all agreed, the disabled and elderly are passionless and have no place at public events as they are either; incapable of, or unwilling to, enjoy themselves.

I rather enjoy it when people feel they have to lie about my side's arguments. It can only mean they don't have the confidence to win an argument properly.

I'd feel more confident but I was sat down when I typed it so was consequently too relaxed and unable to participate and be active in the debate.

how does standing/sitting change the atmosphere? if someone behind you cannot stand or asks you to sit, you do it. can still sing, can still cheer, can still do whatever you want. just because you are on your feet doesn't change a thing.

How many invalids support us? It's never an excuse for the clubs who have 100% standing ends.

Out of 3,000 I doubt there's any more than about 3 who physically can't stand for 45 minutes at a time.

Odd how we have a load of cripples supporting us yet clubs like Man Utd, Liverpool, Man City, Newcastle and Leeds have zero.

Sorry, I just don't believe that.

I'm all for standing at away games, and do so myself...

But Jesus Christ that is impressive ignorance.

Regardless of the various other arguments for and against safe standing, I think it's pretty widely agreed that standing can improve the atmosphere. Just look at which areas of the ground at the KP make the most noise. The KOP was pretty much silent before the back 3/4 rows now stand and the UFS group were founded.

You are able to, just buy a ticket at the front you prat.

Frankly though , I don't care what anyone says if you buy an away ticket it should be with the intention to stand. Away ends with people sitting are absolutely pathetic. Standing is the whole bloody point of going to an away game. If you're not there to be part of the away day atmosphere then you've got the wrong attitude.

People are just fvcking awkward and stubborn.

What a fcuking twat,

**** off and die,

And who the fcuk gave him rep?

wouldn't mind getting a load of people together at an away game and start chanting "sit down, if you love Leicester" every few minutes.

Standing opens your vocal chords ;)

I can't see how anyone can argue that standing doesn't increase atmospheric levels to be honest. There's no right or wrong way to support your side but standing is the only way I want to do it.

Just strengthens the calls for Rail Seating to be introduced really.

Never understood the love for sitting down at the footy. I guess it's what you were brought up on.

Can't believe some on here still think that the atmosphere isn't affected by sitting. Pretty obvious really. How many choirs do you see sitting down? Much more volume, passion and projection from a standing position.

If you can stand, you should. If you can't, then fine, but let those who want to, stand (behind you obvs).
