VLC86 Posted 20 October 2015 Posted 20 October 2015 I prefer spooning while watching Footy matches Big spoon or little spoon? People who want to be little spoon at football really **** me off.
ozleicester Posted 21 October 2015 Posted 21 October 2015 this thread's stuck in a loop, getting boring now here's a shit choir You should hear them when they sit down! Im hoping this will get a run out at the next game...
Rob1742 Posted 22 October 2015 Posted 22 October 2015 It's mostly about age. In my youth you would choose standing and sing etc. When you get older you tend to just want to sit and enjoy it, especially if you are taking kids, where your priority is to their enjoyment and safety. I look at the younger types now, pointing at away fans and singing crap songs like "there's only one City@ and it makes you cringe. But then you appreciate it to some degree as the atmosphere is important. Having lived through both sitting and standing, the key is football provides for both. No point saying one is right and one is wrong, both are right and both are needed. Football needs to sort this, but there doesn't seem to be a great financial benefit in doing so, so it will rumble on.

I enjoyed standing in the 80's/90's. I now enjoy sitting with my Kids. I would like to take them to away matches but would want to sit in a non-sweary bit. As with everything in life a bit of empathy would go along way to solving everything.
Harry - LCFC Posted 22 October 2015 Posted 22 October 2015 I'd feel more confident but I was sat down when I typed it so was consequently too relaxed and unable to participate and be active in the debate. Your reply gives me further reason to believe you don't have any serious contribution to make to the discussion. If you'd like evidence of my claim that standing up is a more active stance take a look at how people behave immediately after a goal - people don't rise to their feet for no reason. PS - Sorry about the late response

It's an away match mate, you're going to get swearing I'm afraid. Kids love standing on seats anyway in my experience.
ScouseFox Posted 22 October 2015 Posted 22 October 2015 football was at least 4 or 5 times as fun when you were a kid and every time someone called the ref a wan ker it was absolutely hilarious
Dan Posted 22 October 2015 Posted 22 October 2015 Kids favouring sitting is up there with second season syndrome on the myth scale.
Larry_LCFC Posted 22 October 2015 Posted 22 October 2015 At the end of the day, you pay for a seat. It isn't your god given right to stand up. The way people look down their noses at those that sit has always grated on me.
filbertstreet Posted 22 October 2015 Posted 22 October 2015 football was at least 4 or 5 times as fun when you were a kid and every time someone called the ref a wan ker it was absolutely hilarious my favourite thing going to games when I was younger was goal kicks cause I got to say you're shit without my dad telling me off

The Year Of The Fox Posted 22 October 2015 Posted 22 October 2015 I've moved on from being pissed off about sitters, it's standers that don't sing that do my head in Yeh but if they stand up it gives them a better internet connection so they can check their bets and tweet
Soup Posted 22 October 2015 Posted 22 October 2015 Yeh but if they stand up it gives them a better internet connection so they can check their bets and tweet Stadium ban for that I reckon.
fleckneymike Posted 22 October 2015 Posted 22 October 2015 Your reply gives me further reason to believe you don't have any serious contribution to make to the discussion. If you'd like evidence of my claim that standing up is a more active stance take a look at how people behave immediately after a goal - people don't rise to their feet for no reason. PS - Sorry about the late response Standing is inherrently a more active 'stance' because the word stance is a description of the way in which one stands. It is not possible to have a stance whilst seated. Just as people don't rise to their feet for no reason they also don't lower to their arse for no reason either. The biggest improvement to atmosphere at Leicester has been cardboard clappers - not standing up - but people sat on their arse hitting a piece of card against their palm. What is evident from this trolling thread is that there is a sizable majority who hold their fellow supporters in contempt for not adhering to what they believe is a correct way of supporting Leicester. Some of the views expressed by those in support of standing at the expense of those unable or unwilling to do so have been abhorrent, biggoted and ignorant. I, like many others, have no desire to tell people which way is best to support Leicester. I, like many others, respect the fact that when in all seater stadiums we must compromise our needs to allow those unwilling or unable to stand to sit down and enjoy the match. I prefer to stand but my overiding concern is always watching the game and ensuring that those around me can also watch the game. If it so happens that those two concerns enable me to stand then I will stand, if not I will sit.
NoFuchsGiven Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Why were so many sitting today?? couldn't make it today but on the stream it looked like quite a lot of sitters
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Why were so many sitting today?? couldn't make it today but on the stream it looked like quite a lot of sitters I'll get stick for this no doubt but put very simply: £47 tickets + a tourist ground = less 'working class' blokes attending = less standing.
NZ_Foxile Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Why were so many sitting today?? couldn't make it today but on the stream it looked like quite a lot of sitters There were announcements over the tannoy, telling us to sit down because there had been complaints from Leicester fans that they couldn't see because of standing (probably from those at the back in the ridiculous restricted view seats). Nobody sat down, despite the threats that persistent standers would be ejected (would like to see them eject the entire end!). Eventually police came in and managed to get one lower section behind the goal to sit. Nobody else though, so. not sure that would really have helped those at the back much!

I'm certainly not a "working class bloke" and I stand at away games, including today. I doubt you'd have got a ticket for the away end today if you were not a regular attendee and there purely for the "tourist experience"

I doubt you'd have got a ticket for the away end today if you were not a regular attendee and there purely for the "tourist experience" Maybe that was a poor choice of phrase but you know what I mean. I think if away ticket prices remain unregulated then that today is a glimpse into the future of our away ends.
Kitchandro Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 If we're top of the English football pyramid and we've got fans sitting away from home then that's pretty embarrassing. No excuses. Saw a load of old girls standing for Man U at Stoke. If they can so can 95 percent of ours at least.

Why would it be embarrassing for the top side to have people sitting - or in general tbh?
ozleicester Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 couldnt see anyone sitting from where i was stood. But we were quieter tonight
promised land Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Quite a few from the back came down to around the mid row 20's as they couldn't see, I posted my view in the post match thread, this is it, unrestricted £47 seat.
