Great Boos Up Posted 18 October 2015 Posted 18 October 2015 January window looms faster than you think, and the bigger boys want to play! The likes of Bony and Benteke have been ripped away from their clubs. Sorry to piss on the parade but the better we do the more interest we generate. I now believe that this season will be glorious and relegation is far behind our level of performance and I'm bloody loving it! We have never been in this situation before in the modern football world. But every club/man has a price. Vardy and Mahrez will be watched by envious eyes; and slowly but surely they will draw their plans against us. Do we have the "Stones" to keep what we have.
lgfualol Posted 18 October 2015 Posted 18 October 2015 I wouldn't take less than £40m for any of our players tbh.
StanSP Posted 18 October 2015 Posted 18 October 2015 Mahrez just signed a new contract in summer so it'll take a lot to prise him away. Maybe a naive thought but I can't see Vardy leaving in January...
Dennis118555 Posted 18 October 2015 Posted 18 October 2015 It's nice that we are in a position under the Thais that we don't need to sell our best players! That said every man has his price, they are astute business men after all. So a mark up of £15/20+ million on vardy/mahrez??? We will soon find out how big their ambitions really are!
filbertstreet Posted 18 October 2015 Posted 18 October 2015 I wouldn't take less than £40m for any of our players tbh. Danny Simpson?
VLC86 Posted 18 October 2015 Posted 18 October 2015 I can't see Vardy going anywhere. The big 4/5 wouldn't go near him and other than that we could be in the next bracket of teams who could finish anywhere in the table.
stevelcfc Posted 18 October 2015 Posted 18 October 2015 Vardy is integral to how we play, to replace him would be nigh on impossible, therefore his real value to us is unquantifiable.
SystonFox Posted 18 October 2015 Posted 18 October 2015 Unquantifiable. Nice word. Liverpool will bid for Vardy and probably Spurs too. That's the type of shit clubs they are
sdb Posted 18 October 2015 Posted 18 October 2015 Not sure anyone bar Mahrez would be fashionable (Vardy, Albrighton, Drinkwater) or proven (Schlupp, Kante) enough just yet. Summer may be different, but for now we're still just a team in good form.
Great Boos Up Posted 18 October 2015 Author Posted 18 October 2015 Vardy is integral to how we play, to replace him would be nigh on impossible, therefore his real value to us is unquantifiable. That's what Spurs said about Bale. State your price, someone will pay. We are too good to soon and clubs will pay!
Corky Posted 18 October 2015 Posted 18 October 2015 I hope we turn shit again so we have no best players to worry about losing. Best option.
Captain... Posted 18 October 2015 Posted 18 October 2015 Vardy's experience with England will make him think twice before ever leaving, playing in any other way than the way we do will leave him isolated frustrated and exposed.
Bayfox Posted 18 October 2015 Posted 18 October 2015 Much tho we love vardy. Does anyone really think klopp or that ilk will seriously put serious wedge on the table for him? He's had a really good 6 months or so at the top level. But his age for a start goes against him. We don't need to sell either. Marhez on the other hand. Possibly but after that. Look at the amount of critics on here for the rest of the squad. Kasper, drinkwater, who else are we really suggesting adds real value to a top 6 side?
Russell sprout Posted 18 October 2015 Posted 18 October 2015 On the flip side we will also attract more/possible better players if we maintain our current position in January
Mikey Posted 18 October 2015 Posted 18 October 2015 Can see Spurs coming in for Mahrez in January. Think we'll tell them where to go though'
wight88 Posted 18 October 2015 Posted 18 October 2015 £20-£40million now amounts to bugger all in the grand scheme of things with the megabucks on the table just for staying in the prem. Much easier now for clubs to dig in their heels like Everton did with Stones, hopefully this will lead to a new name or two on the Prem trophy in the not too distant future.
Leicesterpool Posted 18 October 2015 Posted 18 October 2015 What may put off the big clubs from wanting Vardy is his age, I can imagine the club would value Vardy around £10million and for 28 year old these days to some clubs that's considered old. Personally I don't think Vardy is in any hurry to leave, unless Liverpool become desperate and whack a huge sum down. Mahrez maybe a struggle to keep I fear.

fuchsntf Posted 18 October 2015 Posted 18 October 2015 NOBODY chased down Austin, proven goalscorer Vardy is nearly 29, depends on pace and movement, cant see a real top team coming in for him, Even in the summer. look at Saha, from Palace hunted, taken, then spat out again. Mahrez, not a proven 90 minute man, so other than a higher foreign team, cant see too many chasing him, besides why should he want to go, believe it or not our good players, are most likely not on anybodies wishlist.Plus no press agencies are targetting them. It might just be has a team , the group the mix has something, but as individuals not appetizing. I like our set up, Westham, Palace are taking the plaudits, they are London teams, but Even for them, I dont see the individuals Interesting top teams who will fight between themselves for their services. It might just be that fact, that will, give + deliver Pardew, Bilic, Ranieri, 1-3 suprise top seasons, mixing it with the big boys. 3 normal clubs who have pace / play consistently at pace one -twos. Arsenal over the years lose their pacemen, they lose form, ditto Man city, now they have cover in Sterling, Chelsea hazzard etc, Manutd fell off when they went off their pace when Ferguson left, and held too long on the ball.Livetpool had Sturridge, Sterling injured, they fell off, Rodgers found no replacements Barcelona, R.Madrid, Bayern, have had more pace quick players on their books....... I am not saying my opinion is fact, but just a thought,
FireFox Posted 18 October 2015 Posted 18 October 2015 We are the Leicester City Big Dogs. Come January we will be buying so we can challenge for a cup/top 7. (If an English team wins the Europa League, thus getting a Champions League place, does that mean 8 English teams would get into Europe?)
davieG Posted 18 October 2015 Posted 18 October 2015 Claudio Ranieri says it would take 'a lot of money' for Leicester to consider selling leading Premier League goalscorer Jamie Vardy. But the Foxes manager also admitted he would be powerless to stop any player leaving the King Power Stadium if they wanted to leaving. Vardy has scored seven goals so far this term and started England's final Euro 2016 qualifier, a 3-0 win in Lithuania, on Monday. He cost Leicester £1m from Fleetwood in 2012 but is now hot property after his dramatic rise from non-league football to the top flight. Ranieri insisted the 28-year-old is happy at the club but conceded they may not turn down a huge offer. "If I am the owner, a lot, a lot, a lot," he said, when asked how much Vardy would cost. "Do you want Jamie? Give me a lot of money. "We want to keep him and we want to keep hold of all our best players but if there are some teams who want to spend money 'OK', we'll re-start and we'll see another good player. At this moment we'll enjoy with Jamie. "Our project is very, very good. I understand players want to achieve something early. "I think for Jamie, not only for Jamie but all of the players, it's important to do what they feel, what their heart, soul and brain says. "I can say 'you stay here' or 'you go' - no. I want only happy players, that is my philosophy. I don't want to keep somebody who doesn't want to stay. Jamie is so happy." Vardy is contracted to the club until 2018 after signing a four-year deal last year and has scored five goals in his last four Foxes games.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 18 October 2015 Posted 18 October 2015 dont think we need to worry about Vardy too much, I think Mahrez's departure is inevitable next summer
