Bamba's Babes Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 David Nugent held this team back, his slow football brain hampered us. People thought Vardy could only play well with smiley in the 10 role. Proof is in the pudding. You'll disagree and the thread deleted because this is Foxes Talk but you can't escape the obvious.
foxfanazer Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 what a load of rubbish! Is your name Sean by any chance?
StanSP Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 I like the way Nugent held us back in the 2-2 draw vs Liverpool at Anfield.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 Nugent was class for us when we achieved 102 points
GeorgeTheFox Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 yep, exactly. without him we would have easily reached 200 points in the promotion season
MPH Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 So nothing to do with Mahrez, Kante, Fuchs , albrighton and Huth. Ok then.
ScouseFox Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 agreed that's the only thing that's changed
themightyfin Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 Nugent held us back in getting us into this league in the first place? Nugent was class for us one of only a handful that survived the SGE era. He was Deffo one of the best players in a bad bunch. Have you ever thought Vardy may be having do much success as he has learnt from playing with Nuge? There are loads of factors as to why Vardy has turned into the player he us today and Nugent has played his part in his development I have no doubt.
Corky Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 Yeah, he really held him back in the Championship when he partnered him.
foxfanazer Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 Just means you've been talking shit for years
foxes_rule1978 Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 Don't know what trumpet you are blowing, but I know no one is joining in... we have great respect for our best players during the championship season that got us here and survival last season. I hope this thread gets removed
JerryLundegaard Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 I'm only gonna look back at Nugent's time with LCFC with fondness. The Liverpool game as someone mentioned, the squirrel, always scoring against Ipswich, always with a smile on his face. I wish him well at Middlesbrough and hope he makes it back to the PL next season.
Charl91 Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 Nugent was a good player for us, but I think the Championship was his level. Premier League was too much of a step up for him. That being said, certainly a legend in my eyes
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 Without Nugent we wouldn't of either stayed up last season or gone up the season before. Big character in the dressing room, game changer coming of the bench and leader on the pitch. The OP is an absolute melt.
EGBFitness Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 Wow... That's a big statement without any real evidence. Love a conspiracy thread
Nalis Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 Only we can put a negative spin on a brilliant first third of the season.
The Doctor Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 Held us back We could definitely have improved on him, and indeed have, certainly he didn't offer enough to be part of a side looking to progress to midtable, but this team has changed more than that. You might as well be saying cambiasso held us back because he was one of the departures in this change.
Larry_LCFC Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 Shows youve been an idiot for years then. Nugent was great for us. Take your bitterness and walk on chap.
st albans fox Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 Is there anything else you've been saying for years ?
Thracian Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 Two small sentences and not even the whisper of an argument. In boxing terms a low blow and no excuse given what a good servant he was for us during our continued rise.
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 I said to reach the next level and move on from relegation scraps we'd have to replace people like Koncheksy, Hammond and Nugent. They just weren't good enough for this level and so it's proved. In place of them now we have Fuchs, Kante and Okazaki....
