Leicesterpool Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 What former foxes player do you believe the club should never had sold, also has this player ever come back to haunt us later on his career?
TJB-fox Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 Jack Hobbs and Michael Morrison, not that they've gone on to amount to much but loved them here and they were a big threat from set pieces. Reckon they would be playing at a higher level than they are now if things had worked out for Pearson here first time around
Fox92 Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 Izzet was the biggest loss in recent years. I know he had to leave because we couldn't afford him, but I firmly believe we would have got promoted again if he'd have stayed. With him in the side we were brilliant.
Sampson Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 It depends on what you mean? Players like Lineker, Alan Smith and Gary Mac went on to have great careers, but we always kinda knew they would and although it was sad to see them go and we really missed them in the side you can't really blame them for going onto better things. Similarly, selling Neil Lennon was a massive loss and the beginning of the end for the side of the late 90s/early 00s but again, you couldn't really stand in his way to go onto Celtic at the time. I can't really think of many players though who were mediocre here and I wasn't particularly sad to see them go but they then went on to become decent players and you ended up regretting not keeping them here and seeing them develop. Mark Bright was utter horseshit here but went on to have a decent career I guess.
Bayfox Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 Heskey would be the stand out one. But understand why we did. Lennon falls under the same bracket. ****ing tater peeler. I partly agree with the above post as well. Reckon had Sven not come along hobbs and Morrison may have progressed. It's not like the millions wasted on mills were an upgrade now is it.
Izzy Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 What former foxes player do you believe the club should never had sold, Nugent also has this player ever come back to haunt us later on his career? Not yet. But he might do next season if Boro get promoted..
ian_marshall Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 Would loved to have seen Knocky in this squad. Think he would have flourished under Ranieri as I think he would have given him free reign to express himself and not coached all of the flair out of him like Pearson did. I know people banged on about his lack of pace but by being able to play with both feet I personally don't think it was as big a problem as some made out.
Lcfc_1995 Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 Jack Hobbs, had so much potential until Sven came in and dropped him and sold him off to Hull where he got that serious injury which was a shame.
ThaiFox Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 Neil Lennon. That was the beginning of the end to O'Neill's team and led to 10 years of struggle. Taylor has a lot to answer for.
Sampson Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 Jack Hobbs, had so much potential until Sven came in and dropped him and sold him off to Hull where he got that serious injury which was a shame. It was Sousa who ruined him by completely disregarding fitness training, same with Berner and Morrison. I remember Berner writing an article on a while back where he basically said Sousa knackered that side within a matter of weeks and I remember when he came there were a lot of Swansea fans basically saying he did the same thing there.
Izzy Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 Neil Lennon. That was the beginning of the end to O'Neill's team and led to 10 years of struggle. Taylor has a lot to answer for. I was Lennon's biggest fan and gutted when he left. Although Taylor does has a lot to answer for, on this occasion I'm not sure he can be held accountable for Lennon leaving. If Neil really wanted to leave and join Celtic (the club he supported as a boy) and follow MON, I'm not sure anyone could have stopped him really.
CharlieCharles Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 Knockaert, gave him away on a free and hes scoring for fun at the moment. Yakubu, 11 goals in 20 games spoke for itself, no matter how lazy he was. Lloyd Dyer, honestly do believe he would of been a very good player in the prem last season. Waghorn, loved him. Not good enough though which was a massive shame. Wood, scoring a few for Leeds at the moment. With no striker but Vardy scoring, think we should of kept him. Marshall, thought they was more to see from him. Bamba, which defender can take on 5 players successfully every time he tries? Gelson Fernandes, thought he was a decent player at the time. Fryatt and Hume, See Waghorn.
fuchsntf Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 Derek Dougan, The Doog! Yes, it wasnt just the fanastic man himself, but he would of been the completion of the team they had set up, the missing cog, we should of kept. God I was gutted when he went, he and another of my legends Jackie Sinclair, were the guys who would take us and Gillies, to even better eras.As a kid , one asked simply why, the last season my dad, said no more, wasnt interested again until I took him to see bloomfields boys. I was playing regular myself, so rarities...
Unabomber Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 Bamba, which defender can take on 5 players successfully every time he tries? Dunno but not Bamba that's for sure.
Will1981 Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 Mark Draper Micky Galloway should have been signed after his 4 game loan ended.
Captain... Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 The player we shouldn't have sold/released when didn't have to was Collymore we should have built a team round him. Gradel is probably the only other one we sold when we shouldn't have done. The others are players that we wanted to keep but couldn't like Izzett, Lennon, Heskey, and ooh Tommy Wright. Was gutted when they left but nothing we could have done about it.
Captain... Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 Mark Draper Micky Galloway should have been signed after his 4 game loan ended. We would have done if he hadn't broken his leg in a car crash and had to retire.
Vicki Vixen Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 Lots from 10+ yrs ago, but I can't honestly think of a single player still actively playing today who would break into our starting XI. That includes Cambiasso.
goose2010 Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 Some of these actually made me laugh! Wood ??? You're kidding me! Best business we have done in years for a 6ft plus he was shocking in the air. One random one probably gareth mcauley he was solid and is still doing a bit now
Great Boos Up Posted 8 December 2015 Posted 8 December 2015 Kasey Keller went on a free? and we went into administration a few years later? Let players go if they want to but get paid for it.
