Buzzell Posted 12 December 2015 Posted 12 December 2015 Astral football saying Walsh will sign this week for Arsenal, I hope there wrong Who the fuch are 'Astral Football'?
Nickfosse Posted 12 December 2015 Posted 12 December 2015 Bit weird this story. They say he is signing "according to the Daily Star" but I can't see a single reference on the Star website. My guess is that they mean the Mirror, in which case it doesn't say he will sign at all. Just that they are interested in him. Also in Merc today on signing Kante Ranieri says that he has an excellent relationship with Walsh and that they talk together often and share the same ideas on football.
dannythefox Posted 12 December 2015 Posted 12 December 2015 Never heard of them I'm sure we could just match there offer anyway, Walsh is one of the best scouts anyway so he must be happy here or he could of gone elsewhere already
johnny the fox Posted 12 December 2015 Posted 12 December 2015 http://astralfootball.com/key-signing-expected-to-be-confirmed-by-arsenal-this-week/39926? mmmmmm
Wymsey Posted 12 December 2015 Posted 12 December 2015 It's the Daily Star, take with the tiniest pinch of salt available.
sdb Posted 12 December 2015 Posted 12 December 2015 Would be such a shame given the position we/he are in.
Wymsey Posted 12 December 2015 Posted 12 December 2015 Losing John Rudkin would be even more of a loss, but that will not happen.
fleckneymike Posted 12 December 2015 Posted 12 December 2015 As long as we have his list of targets before he buggers off we can get by for a while
yorkie1999 Posted 12 December 2015 Posted 12 December 2015 It was on Twitter about a week ago. One of Walsh's assistant scouts is going to arsenal.
Master Fox Posted 12 December 2015 Posted 12 December 2015 This can't happen. Top, everyone, anyone.... don't let him leave.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 12 December 2015 Posted 12 December 2015 Massive loss in the long term if true.
Master Fox Posted 12 December 2015 Posted 12 December 2015 Arsenal can die for all I care. Surely this can't be true?
Izzy Posted 12 December 2015 Posted 12 December 2015 Gonna happen isn't it Looks like it might. No smoke without fire I guess. Not the end of the world though, we've got a great squad in place so lets focus on the here and now. The way some are talking you'd think it was Walsh putting the ball in the net for us. If he goes, we wish him well, replace him and move on.
Master Fox Posted 12 December 2015 Posted 12 December 2015 How old is Walsh now anyway? I don't understand why he'd leave? Makes no sense.
st albans fox Posted 12 December 2015 Posted 12 December 2015 Walsh is one of three 'assistant managers' Whilst I wouldn't view him as irreplaceable, his leaving wouldn't send a great message to players that you want to stay come January.
dylanlegend Posted 12 December 2015 Posted 12 December 2015 Losing John Rudkin would be even more of a loss, but that will not happen. Why would it? What has Jon Rudkin done? He hasn't scouted the players like Mahrez and Vardy? Rudkin was here during the crap years before Walsh et al. Walsh would be a massive loss, just hope the younger scouts have picked up a lot from him. Or he can use it as a pay rise opportunity... Hopefully top will give him what he wants
Aus Fox Posted 13 December 2015 Posted 13 December 2015 Claudio loves him, it was Walsh who forced through the Kante deal. http://m.leicestermercury.co.uk/Leicester-Cityy-midfielder-N-8217-Golo-Kante-best/story-28348034-detail/story.html
Len Finsbury Posted 13 December 2015 Posted 13 December 2015 How old is Walsh now anyway? I don't understand why he'd leave? Makes no sense. Make's perfect sense. Our current position is considered as a fluke to everyone else other than those at the club and is therefore short-lived. Sometimes, money isn't the answer to everything because I'm sure we could match anything financially offered by Arsenal. However, as someone who has been at a club at the top, perhaps Walsh would like to do it again. Arsenal are Arsenal and regardless of our season so far, we have a long way to go before we're considered equal to them in terms of size.
Gerard Posted 13 December 2015 Posted 13 December 2015 I'll stick my neck on the line and say Walsh won't go to Arsenal. Walsh has a lot of power at Leicester, he apparently chose Ranieri to be manager and got his way by bringing Kante here when Ranieri didn't really want him. If Walsh goes to Arsenal he won't be the head of recruitment there like he is here, he will be a No2 and answerable to someone. At Arsenal they look for a higher quality player and the higher you go up the more these players are known, they will be expected to compete with the likes of Barcelona for players. I just think the project at Leicester is more fun and he wants to finish the job. He has a documented great relationship with Ranieri and his opinion carries a hell of a lot of weight. If Walsh is adamant we buy a certain player he comes despite what anyone else thinks, his judgement is fully respected. Walsh probably loves his job and very proud of his work so far at the club and would be sad to walk away and hand "his baby" over to someone else. I just don't see him leaving for a lesser role at Arsenal.
