STUHILL Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 A striker and a winger/wing back would be great. If Vardy gets injured then I can't see Ulloa and Okazaki getting the goals we would lose from him. Think Austin would be an upgrade on Ulloa finishing wise but he sounds adamant he won't leave until the summer. Maybe a top loan or two could be the best option. Thinking of players on the fringes of big teams like Munich, Barce, Real etc who would love to experience playing for top of the table Prem team for half a season.
HighPeakFox Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 Only if a bloody good player, who we've been tracking, beomes available. No point just spending for the sake of it. I also agree with this
MC Prussian Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 Personally, I doubt we'll add more players in January. Next summer will be telling, as at least two contracts of some of the "older" players are coming to an end. Mark Schwarzer (43) and Marcin Wasilewski (35) will highly likely either quit the came completely or move elsewhere. I can see Kramaric leaving on loan in January and - if he doesn't get any more minutes and keeping EURO 2016 in mind - Gökhan Inler, as well. However, maybe the club will send Matty James out on loan instead to gain match practice in a lower league (Championship?).
Edingleyfox Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 ln Steve Walsh we have the best scout but agree another striker and right back would be good cover/addition Think we can aim a lot higher in terms of class than perhaps at the end of last season but anyone coming in must have the work ethic of Vardy or Albrighton to fit in Cannot see Ranieri breaking up a winning team even if the squad is strengthened. I think he listens to his coaches and knows the value of consistency.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 Never sit stillThisHowever obviously we have to be aware of shift harmony etc
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 Get a bid in for one Esteban Cambiasso!
ithuriel Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 We do not need a massive influx but we do need to add at least two players of quality, competition for places is never a bad thing in a sport's team, just need to acquire quality with character. Seeing as our recruitment team have been pretty good I see no problem here other than persuading our targets to come and sit on the bench for a while.
Gerard Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 Walsh was the head scout at Newcastle when they bought Asprilla in mid-season which cost Newcastle the title though. Though I'm sure he learnt from that mistake. It wasn't necessarily a mistake. I don't think you can blame Asprilla for Newcastle losing a 12pt lead.

Seeing as our recruitment team have been pretty good I see no problem here other than persuading our targets to come and sit on the bench for a while. It's always best to buy from a position of strength. Only buy if we can get in the players we really want and not just buy the best available. I'm sure Walsh and co already have their January strategy sorted.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 You're damned if you do, damned if you don't in some respects. So long as any signing has gone through our standard process, I've got no problems in us making additions... but rushing things, not doing our standard due diligence or going for something a little bit different to what we would have done before is not the way to do things. Continue to do what's brought you success so fat to date.
cityfanlee23 Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 Strength + Depth signings CB RB #10 Striker Potentially sell - One of the RB's Kram or Ulloa (Keep shinji as an impact player - willing to give him time to settle providing we sell one of the other 2) Decide on Liam Moore.
cityfanlee23 Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 Blimey.. Forgot all about Liam Moore!!! Cant see him having much of a future at this rate but I certainly hope so... He's had a bad 12 months or so but all in all has a lot of potential!! Funny really, first 5 games of last season him and wes were immense... now he struggles on loan.
Great Boos Up Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 We may not sign a player but if we try we need to set the scene. If we pitch about £10-12 million for a player what does that say about how much we value our current squad ? The next thing you know £15-18 is being pitched around Europe for all our stars. Go bold an lay £25-30 million the table for player x then everyone else will see our core players are worth £30 million plus and our competitors will back off.
CharlieCharles Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 Yes.. Be absolute madness not to strengthen. I would however be very careful with how we strengthen, no Joey Barton esc players. 1-2 first team players 1-2 young backups 1 GK
cityfanlee23 Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 Something I'd like to add.... How good is it, that we can't even agree who our best signing was?!?! Usually there is a stand out, but right now we have Drinky, Vardy, Mahrez, Kante, Fuchs and more!
steflcfc Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 If the opportunity arises to add a top quality player with the right attitude to fit in, which all the new players seem to have, we would be silly not to strengthen any area. But I wouldn't add any players just to make the numbers up/wouldn't add anything better than we already have. I say we have a decent 6-7 players on the bench waiting for game time that buy into the squad mentality eg Was,Inler etc that seen happy enough to wait for there chance.
Dan Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 Gone for yes. Don't sign for the sake of it. Just keep doing what we're doing. If the right player comes up, get them. It's that simple.
richardsfoxes Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 Think we need players in case we get injuries but only one's who will improve us but then again at the same time i am so superstitious right now i wouldn't change anything.
Clever Fox Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 I think someone like Ighalo would be perfect for us. A fast talented player who know where the net is. 15 to 20 Million should entice Watford to let him go as they got him for very little. Carillo also looks good and exciting but very one footed.
ARM1968 Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 We could get Ighalo with the right offer. With his age and speed he'd be awesome backup for Vardy and an able number 10.
GloverFox Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 Yes. Don't like the fact if Schmeichel gets injured we have an OAP in goal, or if Fuchs gets injured we have Schlupp at left-back. Think we should get a very good winger or centre attacking mid. ... I have absolutely no problems with Schlupp stepping back into the team if Fuchs was injured/ fatigued etc ... totally committed and loyal player for the club ..
americanfox Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 We could get Ighalo with the right offer. With his age and speed he'd be awesome backup for Vardy and an able number 10. So like £40M?
