  1. 1. Do we sign more in January and risk upsetting the squad

    • Yes, we need more quality and depth.
    • No, these are the players to take us to glory.

I said yes because, in short, as a fan of Leicester City, I believe this is now our best chance of winning the premier league. Opportunities like this don't come around very often, we're at a point where the top teams are struggling and we're kicking on, we need to spend some cash in January and have a real, proper dash for it.

I've just read that post back and I can't believe I'm writing it about Leicester bloody City...to even mention us in the same breath as the title is unreal...wow.

So like £40M? lol

YES!

I'm serious! (Pitch £25M for starters) Let's go balls out to ensure Champions League.

His agent got diddly squat for that Watford move and will bend his ear night and day.

no chance and he's not a no 10 either he'd be a replacement option for Vardy

We are going to need some upgrades if we are serious about  a top four finish. We have to take injuries and suspensions into consideration.

Yeah I suppose your right, just worried about doing nothing and missing a top 4 for lack of planning.

It's such a bloody emotional rollercoaster!

I think I'll call Radio 5 live again.

Stop worrying. Relax. Take a chill pill. Keep calm. It's all in hand. Honest.

Ins:

Kieran Westood/David Marshall (Back up goalie)

Nigel De Jong (Cover if Inler goes on loan)

Salomon Kalou (add to the attacking department)

Arkadiusz Milik (need a new striker for me)

Out:

Ben Hamer (Loan)

Inler (Loan)

Kramaric (Loan)

I know it's a few more than a couple but think these lads can really add something to our squad.

I'd be more than happy with one signing providing that player was an attacking option (preferably CAM with the ability to play RW and LW too but wouldn't be adverse to a striker) with a lot of quality. I trust Walsh to find that option.

After a CAM player, another striker wouldn't go amiss. Austin, Milik, Slimani all look decent shouts. I'd be edgy to bring in more than that, especially with Matty James coming back. Another defensive option is possibly a useful addition but not a priority. Can see a maximum of 2 incomings barring no departures.

I'm sure it is Claudio...

I talk to my players, I clear their mind. They are very happy in this moment

One other thing that just occurred to me. We know we may lose Mahrez and/or Vardy in the summer, so 'replacing' them ahead of time to further integration would be a very sensible safety play, just in case.

Shouldn't even be a debate, if the money is there and the manager feels we have places that need improvement then yes we should. We made a number of changes in the summer without any impact on the squad morale it would seem, so I see no reason why one or two comings and goings would make much difference, we'll still have the core that were here from before.

If the likes of Inler and Kramaric want first team football you can replace them easy enough. You can get in a long term winger to replace Dyer if we don't want to keep him past the end of the season. Was will go in the summer so there is another you can replace long term. None of that would really alter the morale and team ethic.

If we've got a few players lined up, maybe targets we've had for a long time, then yeah bring them in. Now will be an excellent time for players to settle ahead of next season. Don't want signings for the sake of it though.

Do you think that all this 40 point malarky is maybe linked in with a bonus ???   Maybes they haven't got any thing in place for after that ....    perhaps, if they haven't already, they should sit down and get some new bonus structures in place ...   that would refocus the mind and add impetus to some new signings.     Just a thought.

I like the idea of making a ridiculous bid for someone. Not frittering cash away like the Sven days, but one big, ballsy headline-grabbing bid, like Robinho for Man City. It would be a real statement of intent - not just to other teams, but to players like Mahrez who might be thinking about "bigger" things.

Free? Hay ho. Yeah I'd still go for him if we're top. Why not. That extra firepower would prove immense in the 2nd half of the season.

He was only 'free' as the Pozzo family who own Udinese sent him on loan to Watford, as they do with their huge pool of players, recalled his loan and then cancelled his contract so Watford could sign him which avoids transfer fees and FFP.  His contract is till 2020 and wont leave to be a bit part player at Leicester.  He's the main man at Watford and doing a great job, Deeney has dropped back to provide the hold up play for him to get forward.

I really don't see how people think we can just waltz in and sign other teams top players that they rely on, they wont and don't need to sell him.  Are we becoming arrogant like fans of Man Utd etc who think we would snap their hands off for 12m for Vardy.  If Watford lose Ighalo they lose their goals.

Also why would signing players in Jan risk upsetting players?  If players are unprofessional and more focused on what others are doing or getting and not trusting the manager then that's on their own insecurities.  If they are confident in their own abilities and the team then they shouldn't care if we get 2/3 good quality players that strengthen the first 11, that way we get a stronger bench.

If we could get Breel Embolo then that would be a statement that the club are investing and planning ahead.  I really liked Bashkim Kadrii at FC Copenhagen, really quick, pretty skilful LM/LW that can finish but he got a pretty bad injury last season.

I can see the club going back for Carrilo, he wants to go and wont play again for Sporting but they have said they will sell him for a top price, they might accept a cut price deal just to get something as he goes for free in the summer.  Slimani will be overpriced, the Portuguese clubs put massive buy out clauses on players as they always get raided by the big clubs.
