Mahrez' shot is on target and very possibly out of the keeper's reach - it's probably worse than just denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity. Oh I think it's going in. I just don't mind when a player is carded for accidentally denying a goalscoring opportunity. Was anybody else panicking when Huth fuched up? I wasn't worried about them scoring, I was worried Huth was going to go through the back of him and get sent off haha. Anyway lads. We're a second half team. Imagine we'll turn it on this half.

Villa don't look remotely like scoring. If we score again they have no chance. COYB. It was a good first half, their only chance came when huth gifted them an easy back pass but apart from that no real threat... we are in front and had we scored the penalty it would have been the perfect first half
Danizen Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 I don't understand why anyone would take a casual penalty in a competitive game. The odds are already massively in your favour. Just practice and practice until you can put it into an area where even if the keeper guesses the right way and dives early, he still doesn't stand and chance. A casual roll down the middle might look cool but will quickly be forgotten and you will rightly be criticised if you miss.

Our fans are as biased as it comes, understandable, but theres absolutely no way you can catagorically say that was going in from that angle. pause the replay, Distance between mahrez and cissokho was about 2 yards, distance from mahrez to the goal was about 8 yards. the ball rose about 5 foot in 2 yards. Theres nothing clear about the replay, only difference is, if it was up the other end, our fans would be saying it was definitely not going in so only a yellow. in what way was that not going in? How is this even up for debate?

steflcfc Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Ok first half. Not great not shocking. As much as we dont dominate possession, our passing has been sloppy and needs sharpening up. Againt a decent team we would be struggling. Luckily villa are extremely poor. Shame we have not put the game to bed first half. At 1-0 they have a small amount of hope.

Cissokho was sliding in and his arm was at about the height of his knee if he'd been standing. Have a word.
KP Fox Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Mahrez has been given pen duty based on what he produces in training - I trust Claudio I actually saw an interview with Claudio after the Bournemouth miss and he said that Vardy and Mahrez will discuss it themselves at the time of the penalty about who will take it.
