Slyoldfox2001 Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 For weeks I've been saying Ulloah and Okazaki are just not premiership quality. We hoof the ball up to these players and I reckon they only win the header 10% of the time. Neither hold the ball up well and lack physicality. How many times have you seen them fall over or fall on their arses ? Vardy is definitely showing signs of burning out.....his tenacity has dropped and his goals have dried up. He seriously needs help. Austin for £4m is absolute steal and how we didn't go back for him after offering £12m 6months ago is just so confusing. We have a £10m striker at the club that can't make the match say squad so what on earth are we going to do. For me we should go all out to sign Shane Long and Troy Deaney.
Strokes Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 OMG you are right, we are doomed. League 1 in three years.

The problem isnt the lack of quality of Okazaki or Ulloa as much as the sitting back and hoofing to them giving them no chance to link the play anyway. You can counter attack of course, but you also have to be able to pass and retain the ball. The new buzzword is possession is meaningless etc, it is meaningful in different ways, and you cant control a game without the ball. Austin however undoubtedly was a bargain. Troy Deeney is going absolutely nowhere, and frankly i dont understand the love in for Shane Long.
elvisfmcfly Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Okazaki as played well the last couple of games, ulloa as been shite though ,first touch is shocking.so yeah a new striker and get rid of ulloa and krameric.
The Doctor Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Not been watching Okazaki recently then? Been excellent the past few appearances from an offensive standpoint as well as his usual withdrawn striker role.
Slyoldfox2001 Posted 16 January 2016 Author Posted 16 January 2016 I'm not panicking....far from it....but for weeks now we could and should have picked up more points. We are in a slight dip and the January window is the only opportunity for us to freshen things up. Who would disagree that Mahrez and Vardy's form have definitely dropped. Maybe overplayed. Maybe injured. Maybe distracted by other clubs making enquiries. The facts are still there Ulloah and Okazaki just not good enough
Charl91 Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Okazaki is starting to prove that he may actually be good enough, at least as a back up if not as a starter. We do need someone to replace Ulloa though.
johnny the fox Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 You need to say it another 7 times and then spin around and we might start to take it seriously...
lgfualol Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Okazaki has been fine. He's scored nearly as many as Deeney and more than Long. Ulloa on the other hand, you have a point.
st albans fox Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Those of you who don't understand this - enjoy waiting another 50 years to challenge for the top league in this country. Those of us who have endured the last 50 would quite like to have a shot at it from this position. if we don't invest in a replacement for Leo in this window then I really don't understand the board.
NewEnglandFox Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 That's odd. 4 and a half hours ago I swear a saw many posts saying we didn't need one.
davieG Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 You may or may or may not be right but you need to post your demands here Leicester City Football Club, King Power Stadium, Filbert Way, Leicester, LE2 7FL Read more at http://www.lcfc.com/club/contact-us/index.aspx#L0LLQ74lucPPdl7T.99 We can't help you.
m4DD0gg Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Yup we certainly do, it was obvious once Vardys run came to an end there was no one to take over the goals. Ulloa needs replacing this window.
weller54 Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 No new top quality striker... No top 4 finish... Simples! Yup we certainly do, it was obvious once Vardys run came to an end there was no one to take over the goals. Ulloa needs replacing this window. Ulloa is certainly a pane!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Ulloa isn't terrible, he's inconsistent though. Thought he was brilliant at Newcastle, decent at Swansea and actually did really well at Tottenham in midweek, but generally been very disappointing this season. If Kramaric isn't ever in the plans then we need another striker. Vardy shouldn't be back yet - he's not 100%.
Grewks Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 .....Vardy was the worst striker on the pitch today. And before you come up with the 'coming back from injury'....'not match fit' etc. How on earth can Ulloa be match fit when not even playing matches? P.s. If you wanna see how important shinji is in this team...watch how we collapsed after he went off.
kingfox Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Okazaki & Ulloa have been hit & miss all season, Okazaki has offered more though in terms of work rate & goals. We need a proper finisher who can take the pressure off Vardy's shoulders.
jayfox26 Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 I wasn't keen on Okazaki at the start but he's improved a lot and I thought he had a decent game against villa. Ulloa needs to be replaced though, he was great last season but doesn't suit our style now and is far too inconsistent. Kram and Ulloa can both leave for me and bring in 1 top striker (easier said than done) to help vardy out. This season is our best chance of getting champions league football and to do that we need a striker
Vardinio'sCat Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 Ulloa is fookin enormous for a footballer (Gestede-like), and needs to play to keep mobile enough, so I don't think he is a great bench warmer, but he has had decent moments recently. I would be open to letting him go (with regret), because we are (usually) a pressing side. Shinji has started to play much better, he was our best attacking threat today. I know it is hard to accept for those who have been criticising him for months, but once Vardy is fit I think we have a decent pairing, which suits our style. Half fit Vardy is a decent player, as opposed to first name on the team sheet, but I am open to swapping out Leo.
Aroberts123 Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 We definitely need a new striker- although i get the impression its not going to happen which is a great shame. Okazaki has improved the last few games and i can only assume he picked up a knock yesterday and thats why he was subbed?Ulloa is so frustrating to watch and is clearly not capable of scoring when Vardy isnt- yet Claudio persists. If Vardy got injured medium to long term, where would we be? Okay he's not been in great form recently but hes only just recovered from injury. There was inklings today of him improving, making his famous runs etc... Personally i would like to see Shane Long come in, good goalscorer and great in the air for a bloke thats not excessively tall. I read earlier that spurs are keen on him, but who knows. Would love to see a couple more faces, Amartey being one of them.
KP Fox Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 What I don't understand is that QPR rejected our bid of £12m for Charlie Austin. Then a few months later we let another premier league team take him for £4m!
Merging Cultures Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 No new top quality striker... No top 4 finish... Simples! Ulloa is certainly a pane! It's transparent he isn't good enough.
