lifted*fox Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 I'm not one to overreact but this club has a great chance to push on and do something totally out of the ordinary this season and we've shipped out a striker leaving us with only 3 options - only one of which is able to regularly put the ball in the net. If Vardy is out we don't have a single other clinical striker to rely on, just hit and hopers. We really should have just bit the bullet and paid Musa's release clause. He wanted to play here and fits our style. Instead we've left ourselves short and I really do think it'll be the difference between getting fourth or ending up fifth. Sigh.
GingerrrFox Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 ****ed it. Numerous opportunities to bring in various strikers and done nothing. I'm praying we get no injuries up front as that is us ****ed. Dwight Gayle for £7.5 million was worth it just to cover what could happen.
oohaahmustafa Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Gutted about this tbh would have been quality. Saying that. We can still do it. The three have done pretty well so far! Cmon!
The Doctor Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 I was referring to kramaric last jan to be fair. And rather than point out the obvious yet again (that the Kramaric transfer has gone sour because the manager changed and our style changed with it, so he no longer fitted into the way we played, and also not every transfer has to fail as a result), I was being flippant. Daft that people wouldn't want us to spend because Kramaric, when one injury to Vardy leaves us with only Okazaki as an attacking option (given Ulloa only has use defending corners this season).
Matt Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 For people saying recall Kramaric, I'm sure I read that was no recall clause - How true that is is another question but i'm sure I read that. As for recalling him, we never used him anyway and I seriously question if he's good enough, imo, he's not. If we got an injury then yes we might need him, good enough or not, but for now, it's disappointing not too have strengthened but not the end of the world.
surrifox Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 I think we can get loans but not from other prem sides
Dr The Singh Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Apparently, Loic Remy is distraught that the move fell through
ozvaldo Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 I'd take an injured Matt Fryatt over Ulloa Same.
Dan Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 What concerns me more than anything is that given some of the bids we were chucking about it's absolutely blatant that we had planned on a significant improvement to our strikeforce. It's not that I don't believe that we can't get by with three forwards - it's that they clearly don't either. I'm a bit concerned if I'm honest. We've just got to hope we don't have any injuries. I hope we've got a recall on Kramaric's loan if needs be.
stevelcfc Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 If Vardy gets injured and given what he is made of thats a big If; Shinji, Demari, Mahrez, Ulloa all can play up front. Another striker would have been great, no doubt, but worth getting angry over, not really. We've not been bled dry or held to ransom, by the farce that is the Jan window, have not risked damaging the harmony by bringing in a guy in 2x the wages of our highest paid player. Don't become the type of fans spurs have. Not getting another man in isn't through want of trying. This season has been crazy, lets just enjoy the last 15 games for what they are, a free shot.

st albans fox Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 I think we can get loans but not from other prem sides No we can't Our 25 man squad must be declared tomorrow morning. That's it, no additions aloowed

No but you have to spend on the right player at the right price.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 I'm on neither side of the polarising "this is genuinely gash someone kill me now we are shit" or the jokey "ranieri out" posts - but let's not lie, regardless of where we are this is underwhelming. Ranieri openly admitted we wanted / needed a striker and we've ended up losing one (regardless of your opinion of his quality) and bought absolutely nobody in up top. This could be one of the most important windows in this clubs history and we've done ever so bloody well so far, now was the time to twist and we've failed massively. Rudkin should be asking some questions of himself.
psychonaut Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 So the deals couldn't be done. Fair play to Rudkin and Neville for not being fleeced by the crazy market. We were willing to pay big bucks but we weren't prepared to be ripped off. We may not have a huge amount of back up but we are top of the league with the current squad, so why not back them for the final 15 games. People seem to forget that we have signed Gray and Amartey and retained all of our key players. Lets go for it now! Nope not having it. **** it - rip us off pay over the odds - we may never be in this position in our lifetime again!!!!!

We've lost two games this season so there has never really been the need to go all out attack this season. We've got nothing to come off the bench now and like others have said, god forbid we get By injuries
pazzerfox Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 I think we need to chill out slightly. We have let Kramaric go out on loan (who has not started a league game all season) but have brought in Gray & Amartey, so we are stronger than before the window was open. We have a recall option on Kram, so if the worst comes to the worst we'll bring him back. These boys got us here, let us give them a chance to finish the job off.

Can he be re-registered after the squad's been submitted? Must say, all of this feels spectacularly amateurish.

Rudkin should be asking some questions of himself. This in a nutshell. We had a plan, a plan that included potentially breaking our record and we haven't managed to go through with it. That's quite disappointing no matter how you look at it.
Deucalion Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 I think Ranieri is keen on playing 4-3-3 in the long term anyway, so centre-forwards not as vital as they have been.
adam Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Come on loic. Change your mind and get in that chopper .
