Grey Fox Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 A draw would be a good result. If we draw both games I think we should still be top (hoping that Man City and Spurs also draw when we play the Ars). The problem is setting up for a draw, paying them too much respect and allowing them to come at us too much, with not enough up for our breaks. That strategy can backfire. I want us to play for the win and then if we draw, so be it. We can worry them if play the side and way we did against Liverpool. COYB!
Les-TA-Jon Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 Would definitely take a draw. But don't and shouldn't play for one. All the pressure is on Man City surely. Win and we're top - 6 points clear of Man City and 5-8 points clear of Spurs/Arsenal Draw and we're 3-4 points clear of everyone Lose and we're second only on goal difference
foxfanazer Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 People saying they would take a draw. NEVER. We are in the season of our lives and a win on Saturday would be a massive statement of intent. All the pressure is on Man City. We can play our own game and take it to them. If we lose then so be it there are plenty of games after this one where teams can drop points. This really isn't a must win game. Their defence is suspect and are there for the taking. Mahrez will be the star of the show just you wait and see. 0-3 Mahrez brace and Vardy penalty. BELIEVE. This. I'd like to wait to see how things turn out if we apply some pressure! (Sorry i was just listening to that song)If Claudio bottles it and goes 4-5-1 iI'll be pissed off. Man City have some fabulous attacking players but we've looked a lot more solid defensively recently. Their back four is average at best
foxfanazer Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 As others have said Aguero is the best in the league, one of the best in the world so if he's up for it we've got a problem but no point feaeing players like him. Wes and Huth seem to be relishing playing for the title

That doesn't mean they want us to play for a draw, just that they would be happy with a draw and if the hypothetical option was on the table right now to not play the game and call it a draw they would take it. Of course we could win it, but we could also lose, and losing would mean dropping to second place on goal difference with a tough away game at Arsenal coming up. A draw would keep us top by 3 points and give us confidence going to Arsenal. A defeat and suddenly we are below City and Arsenal and Spurs are snapping at our heels. A win is the least likely outcome (according to the odds) but obviously the best one for us. I'd take a win
weller54 Posted 4 February 2016 Author Posted 4 February 2016 From the Liverpool /Man city /Arsenal fixtures, 3 draws and 3 points wouldn't have been the end of the world.. So we've already taken the 3pts... Anything from these next 2 is a Brucie Bonus!
foxfanazer Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 From the Liverpool /Man city /Arsenal fixtures, 3 draws and 3 points wouldn't have been the end of the world.. So we've already taken the 3pts... Anything from these next 2 is a Brucie Bonus! This is of course the rational way of looking at it but I just know I'll be disappointed if we don't take anything from the next two gamesWould you have taken 3 draws in those games instead of beating Liverpool and losing to City and Arsenal?
car1os Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 Aguero is the best player in the world for me Like you say keep him quiet and we have half a chance hopefully Could do that with a five man midfield on Saturday, and Kante man-marking Aguero.

Yes of course because we're taking points off our title rivals!..
foxfanazer Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 Yes of course because we're taking points off our title rivals!..Think we'll get at least a point out of the next 2 games anyway
suffolk fox Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 In the words of Mike Bassett "Leicester, are going to play 4 4 effin 2" If we sit back and let them have the incentive and come at us we will get beaten badly. Play our normal game, keep it tight show them no respect and we can beat them.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 I rate Taylor as a ref, but it's strange he's been given this one considering he's from Manchester...
thybluefox Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 Just imagine winning though - we'd be at least 5 points clear at the top, and 6 points clear of Man City. Absolute scenes.
Lionheart10 Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 I rate Taylor as a ref, but it's strange he's been given this one considering he's from Manchester... Lets hope he's a Utd fan!!
Countryfox Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 You won't hear this very often from me but as long as we put in a good performance I won't be too disheartened whatever the score ... but, a thumping and the smirky 'I told you so' faces from the 'I've supported Man City for a year or two now' brigade (and I know a few), and the red mist may descend. A draw would do me and if we nick a win I think my head will explode.
fuchsntf Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 Heii, whats up, whats happening..?? !! Oh yes the Man.city game. Sorry I was still enjoying the aftermath and atmosphere of the Liverpool game, taking it all in, digesting the moment. Trying to keep the magical tour ride, a rolling. Now then, lets see mmmmm, no probs. A good draw..simples !!

I told her as soon as I can watch it without welling up I'll stop. That could take some time.
goose2010 Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 Just reading a few posts on there forum a few do speak pretty highly of us a lot still think we are a flash in the pan, they are worried about Vardy's pace which they should be but the majority still think we are a two man team. Think Shinji will score Saturday as they will be focused on Vardy, it will be an early cross from Albrighton and Okazaki shinning one in. Lots of talk that Yaya will be bench which again will play into our hands Kante will boss any of there other options but just the size of Yaya gives him a slight (and I mean slight) advantage over Kante. It will be a tight game, I will be surprised if we get over 35% possession but the longer we frustrate the more there crowd will get frustrated. Really looking forward to it as like I said it is like having a free hit we have nothing to lose really.
Hammered Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 will be happy with a 1-1 draw. It's away from home against our biggest rivals for the title. Who would have predicted that the mighty Citeh would become your biggest rivals huh? "I did"
Ric Flair Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 Their defence is going to have a real problem on Saturday. We will score at least twice.
NewquayFox Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 Hope we stick with the same line up and not go defensive, got a feeling Gray/Amartay might come in to replace Okazaki or Albrighton but can still see us getting something from this game. Aguero took a bit of a knock on his calf after scoring and maybe a little nudge in that area from one of our gang might give him a limp..... Up the City....
Maybes Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 Their defence is going to have a real problem on Saturday. We will score at least twice. Agree. Fancy us to score. Other issue is to stop one of the best strikers in the world. Aguero.
filbertway Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 The only thing guaranteed in this game is that we will concede in excess of 12 corners. Can't believe the odds on under 2.5 are so short.
foxes161 Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 Hopefully we go for it, we can score there for sure
fuchsntf Posted 4 February 2016 Posted 4 February 2016 Our gracious King Richard, is up for this, he can charge again into the lands of the double crossing Lancastrians, Swaithe his almighty sword, cut and thrust ,come home after a cheeky Smash and grab raid.
