Charl91 Posted 4 March 2016 Posted 4 March 2016 .....we had a player bought from us, that we really wanted to keep hold of? Obviously not including people that either A) We clearly didn't want to keep (Mat mills ) or B) Contracts ran out (Cambiasso). I'm only saying this, as from reading other forums, many fans of the bigger clubs seem to be convinced (delusively so; I'm looking at you Man United fans) that we're going to be selling Kante/Mahrez at the end of the season, and that they'd clearly rather be at teams like United. Personally, I reckon we'll keep hold of all of our top players at the end of the season, even if we're offered big-money bids.
Charl91 Posted 4 March 2016 Author Posted 4 March 2016 Heskey? Was the last one I could think of. Nugent Think he wasn't really going to feature for us, as much as we loved the guy. Gradel Arguably, though I think that was more of a case that Pearson didn't rate him.
Izzy Posted 4 March 2016 Posted 4 March 2016 Lineker. I'm still distraught that he left for Everton...
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 4 March 2016 Posted 4 March 2016 In all seriousness, it's likely to be either Stearman or Mattock

DB11 Posted 4 March 2016 Posted 4 March 2016 When Pearson took Matty Fryatt imo Before that Mattock and Hume both left when I didn't want them to
Westerby Posted 4 March 2016 Posted 4 March 2016 Some fans would say Paul Gallagher. Wasn't Matty Piper, who scored City's last goal at Filbert Street, sold in a book balancing exercise when relegated, rather than any desire to offload him?
ramboacdc Posted 4 March 2016 Posted 4 March 2016 When Pearson took Matty Fryatt imo really?! i would say lennon and guppy tbh. muzzy stayed and a few others but once them 2 went...
Captain... Posted 4 March 2016 Posted 4 March 2016 If we're talking about a player the club didn't want to sell, then Nuge, Fryatt, Gradel were all sold because they were surplus to requirements. Then you have Mattock and Hume, maybe McCauley, that was down to relegation though, and not just money. The last time a club came in and offered so much money we couldn't turn it down was probably David Connolly.
themightyfin Posted 4 March 2016 Posted 4 March 2016 Steve Corica was a great player we could not keep hold of.
trabuch Posted 5 March 2016 Posted 5 March 2016 Heskey? That was the last time I was disappointed we sold a player - In fact it marked a time when I thought Leicester were never going to be a "big" side. The thought of Heskey and Collymore up front fooled me into thinking we could challenge for something higher than a top ten finish. Then when Heskey left I felt like I "knew my place". This season. This season is more than I could ever have hoped for.
truebluethroughandthrough Posted 5 March 2016 Posted 5 March 2016 Can't really say Heskey when we were desperate for the money. The last time I remember being gutted about a players departure was Draper. Maybe Joachim? But no way would that compare to how I would feel if we lost Kante, Mahrez or vardy. Or drinkwater, even Fuchs. This team will have the vultures circling come the season end, let's just hope the players will want to complete their European tour with us first.
Wolfox Posted 5 March 2016 Posted 5 March 2016 Last clear cut one was Piper - £3m and we had to let him go...
