UPinCarolina Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 Not a bad shout but I think he'll end up at Leeds for next season. Any chance one of the promoted sides gives him a look?
Murdo1976 Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 Last time Newcastle were at this low an ebb we beat them 3-0 at SJP. Next game they beat a fast-improving Liverpool 2-0. I don't think they've got enough about them defensively to keep us out if they try to play like Norwich did. They've not even got 4 fit defenders right now and if their back 4 includes Taylor, Lascelles and Colback again they're in all kinds of trouble.
Dan Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 These are a complete wreck. I cannot see anything but a comfortable home win. 5-0.
STUHILL Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 If we score first and early, then it could be a big score, but you never know with football. They still have some talented players who could hurt us. Defensively though, they are horrendous, so I can see us scoring at least a couple, and hopefully keep it tight at the back. Everyone will expect us to take these apart, and that brings a different kind of pressure, especially if we struggle to score early on or they nick a goal first... Heart says 5-0 (McClaren Sacked after). Head says 3-0
Dan Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 They do have some good players but they are so terribly organised. There's absolutely no fight about them. They seem to get worse the more they spend. I will gutted, absolutely gutted if we don't win this.

Norwich and WBA are still fresh in the memory. Pressure will be back on if Spurtz get an expected 3 points the day before.

ARM1968 Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 Newcastle will try and play. We will try and win. I think there is a fair chance that we will.
Gerard Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 Really aren't all must win. Nothing is must win while we are five points clear, it'd be nice to get it done before the three harder games but given they way we've played away this season we can go anywhere and pick up points, so no game is must win atm. You'd think given Spurs have villa the day before our lead will probably cut to two so three points monday would be extremely welcome but not essential. Palace are in free fall and Swansea at home should really be 3 points. Saints and w ham are good outfits and Sunderland scrapping for their lives and unlike Newcastle are at least attempting to make a fist of it. We won't win them all and i wouldn't expect us too, if we do leagues ours. When I say MUST WIN I mean we go into all those six games and anything other than a win will be unacceptable. I would take five wins and a draw now. A point doesn't win you the title, I just feel we need to be in an even better position at the end of these six games than we are now.
Gerard Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 Happy with 1 goal win Me too, any win is a good win. Lets not forget that this Newcastle side won away at Tottenham earlier in the season, they've also beaten the likes of Liverpool and West Ham. They're usually a shambles but can play when the mood takes them. At this moment in time when to keep getting wins is imperative for us every game looks difficult to me.
ramadaone Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 The question is what will our starting line up be ? The one that started at Watford or the one just after half time ?
chicagofox Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 The question is what will our starting line up be ? The one that started at Watford or the one just after half time ? It should be the one just after half time.Do Newcastle really have good players? I'm getting fed up of hearing how good of a squad Newcastle, Everton, etc. have on paper. For one I don't think its true and for another, football isn't played on paper. Is there a single Newcastle player any of you would want in the Leicester squad? (and please don't say Shelvey. He is the most overrated player in years).
nnfox Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 This won't be as easy as some think. As bad as Newcastle can be, they have had some notable results this season. 0-0 and 3-3 versus Man U, 2-2 v Chelsea and wins against Spurs, Liverpool and West Ham. We should win but I would take a hard fought 1-0 right now. Leo to start for me, he has a good record against Newcastle.
NewEnglandFox Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 The question is what will our starting line up be ? The one that started at Watford or the one just after half time ? Do you mean the lineup that started at St James Park? Because that's the real decision.

He was great when he came to our place last season and his passing range is Drinky-esque. Very good midfielder
chicagofox Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 Do you mean the lineup that started at St James Park? Because that's the real decision. What? Very wrong. He was great when he came to our place last season and his passing range is Drinky-esque. Very good midfielder I respectfully disagree but each to their own.
NewEnglandFox Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 What? Okazaki shouldn't start because he simply isn't capable of touching the ball in the final 3rd without finding a way to **** it up. If you haven't noticed we haven't been able to break the deadlock against teams like Watford, Norwich, and West Brom because he can't make anything happen as an attacker. He was invisible when we were up a man against Bournemouth and even though he did score against VIlla, it was an open after the keeper deflected a Vardy chance.
leicesterseddon Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 We should stick with 4-4-2 to start but be unafraid of making early changes if things aren't going our way. Having Schlupp back in contention is a brilliant bonus really because it gives us greater options for how we can switch things up as games go on - he just offers so much more of a threat than Dyer/Gray. The only thing I'm unsure about still is Okazaki. His form is pretty poor so Ulloa is right in contention really.

I completely agree that Okazaki shouldn't start. My "what" was referring to the lineup at St Jsmes Park. That's irrelevant.

Perez, janmaat, krul id have them all in the squad. Also Everton have a great squad just a manager that can't get the best out of them. Id snap your hand off for half of their squad. Monday won't be easy, yes they look like a club that's about to implode, but they are in a relegation battle.
bluesbrothers Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 I'm getting fed up of hearing how good of a squad Newcastle, Everton, etc. have on paper. We have a shit squad on paper. We're going down. Oh, wait.
