Hold up... I wasn't aware of this until I had read this article.,,

Apparently they are just as good as us?

In other news - Apparently Donald Trump is lovely bloke and Arsene Wenger is a really good manager...

You've been rather Orwellian in your interpretation of what he said.

He is, however, a Grade A berk.

Things happening at Geordie Central. Can't see Mac the Clown being given the boot before Monday. Probably be told to carry on until they find a replacement.

We dont deserve to win the league if we cant beat these jokers.

Rubbish.

Tottenham lost at home to them as well.

Man City drew away at Villa.

Arsenal lost at home to Swansea.

Every team has bad results.

Craig Pawson. Hands down the league's worst ref. It's worse than them getting a decent manager hired in time.

5-0 without a new manager 4-0 with a new manager. They look so poor these days and we are on a mission. I can't see them fighting for Benitez or anyone else for that matter. This Newcastle team is going down.

On a side note....have a feeling Villa will knock off Spurs this weekend.

Away to the top of the league should be any teams hardest game of the season. As trial by fire goes, it doesn't get any worse than that. No club is going to name a new manager with the likely result he's going to get steamrolled in his first game. There is nothing surprising about this. Like I've said before, it will be McLaren or an interim on Monday, not a new manager. And on Tuesday or even Monday night it wouldn't be surprising if our tie is the straw that broke the camels back. The damage was done and they just needed the timing to be right.

Whilst we've got every reason for optimism, let's not all talk as if this game is a forgone 6-0 conclusion.

Also what's all this "if we don't beat these we don't deserve the title" b*llocks?

So let's say we lose on Monday and then win 6 or 7 of the rest and finish top. Would be undeserving winners then?

For sure, maybe I just have really high standards all of a sudden

Arsenal don't play in the league until 19 March, away to Everton, tough call, a draw and 1 point.

They will have played Watford (FA Cup) and Barcelona (Champions League)

Man City are away at Norwich this week-end, should be 3 points in the bag.

Home to Dynamo Kiev next week (Champions League) ahead of the home leg of the Manchester derby against United on the 20th, another 3 points ?

Spurs play away to Borussia Dortmund (Europa League) tomorrow, and are away to Villa on Sunday, 3 points.

Follow that with the home leg against Borussia Dortmund next week and a home match against Bournemouth on Sunday, tired and a draw, 1 point.

Man Utd face Liverpool away (Europa League) tomorrow and then host West Ham (FA Cup) on Sunday.

Return leg at home to Liverpool next week (Europa League) followed by away to Man City in the local derby on Sunday, tired and a heavy defeat, nil points.

West Ham are away to Man Utd this week-end (FA Cup) and then play Chelsea away next week-end, an explosive draw, 1 point.

Liverpool play Man Utd tomorrow at home in the Europa League and away next week in the return leg.

Away to Southampton in the league for a draw on Sunday 20th, 1 point.

We play Newcastle (under relegation threat and likely change of manager) next Monday, home win 3 points.

Following week-end away to Palace, another 3 points in a bad-tempered match.

League table as we move into April :-

Leicester Pl 31 Pts 66

Spurs      Pl 31 Pts 59

Man City Pl 30 Pts 56

Arsenal   Pl 30 Pts 53

West H.  Pl 30 Pts 50

Man Utd Pl 30 Pts 47

L'pool     Pl 29 Pts 45

noticed against teams we were expected to win, we havn't really done too well. most notably the recent games against norwich and wba. we were average against norwich creating only a few clear chances. and against wba played well but got a draw after they took the lead.

I hope we don't think newcastle are just going to turn up and roll over. THey have been poor recently no doubt, but with the scrutiny on them to give more effort.... i expect them to give a lot of fight in the match against us - none of there players want the fingers popinted at them so they will want to prove something.

Can't see Newcastle winning anything. We've taken 23 of 27 points in the reverse fixtures. Anyone doubting our ability now will never believe.

Some on here are scared of their own shadow

Newcastle play well in spurts when tied or with a lead but when scored on they start playing poorly, an early goal and I can see us getting two more. we win 3-0 or 3-1

I think you are about right on everything except us against Palace. I've seen them a couple of times recently, including last Sunday against Liverpool, and they play well, with some good players. I think a draw is more likely there, although we are due for a win - it's been a while.
