June 11 first Euro game, or indeed, the coming friendlies against Germany, Holland, Turkey, Australia and Portugal.

Note the Leicester, Tottenham and Liverpool connections going forward.

Hart

Clyne

Smalling

Cahill

Baines (not in current squad)

Henderson

Drinkwater

Alli

Lallana

Vardy

Kane

You could play that 4-3-3 or a diamond formation.

Obviously it's gonna be Rooney upfront. Let's be honest.

I'm using the players that have been called up here (ie not players such as Baines)...

Butland

Clyne (should be Simpson really. I don't rate Clyne at all)

Smalling

Jagielka (I'm better than Cahill)

Rose

Dier

Drinkwater

Barkley

Alli

Kane

Rooney/Vardy

Not many wingers in the squad makes me think Vardy is getting stuck on the wing again.

No doubt about it. Hodgson will not play two up front. He's a very defensive manager.

Walcott, Welbeck, Vardy, Sterling will all be deployed as wingers. Rooney/Alli/Barkley will play behind Kane.

Vardy to come on with 20 minutes left.

Absolutely infuriates me. Rooney was wank the small part of this season he did play and he will miss most of it through injury. He should be nowhere near the ****ing England squad ahead of Kane and Vardy.

If you look back at the other threads weve had like this is the past theyve been massively off the mark

Edit : bloody ell, Ive read the title too literally as WC2018 Russia

Not a fucking chance Drinky or Vardy will start let alone both at the same time! :crylaugh:

Infact, I came in this thread thinking it was about the upcoming Friendlies, since realising you're talking about it being the Euros i'll genuinely be surprised if Drinky or Vardy go, again let alone both!

You cant pick a team JUST on form players.

They need to fit into a system. If that means playing a player better suited to the style or the system, so be it.

There is also a large degree of trust that Woy has with certain players. This is natural, he knows what they will give him and what they can do.

There isnt a whole lot of scope for change between now and the Euro's, i wouldnt expect Drinkwater to feature too heavily going forwards, but certainly Vardy needs to be utilised within the squad.

England talk about moving forward, playing with pace and an attacking threat and James Milner still continues to some god damn how get a spot in the squad, and Henderson and Clyne aha laughable that these 3 players will start in the Euros at some point.

Pretty sure Rooney will be starting even though he has been awful and been out for a while.

Its why we will never win it.

Posted

We wont win it simply because other teams are better than us, but Woy obviously sees certain players as integral to the systems and styles he wants to play.

We are simply not going to kick off the euros with a team of uncapped and havent played together players just because they are in good club form.
