AmyLGK Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 ..again! I've drunk a lot today to get through that game... as the title suggests....Danny Simpson...England..discuss! LOVE YOU ALL!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOO! p.s . I'm sure this has been a thread before but I couldn't see it x
Phube Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 No chance, he can defend. England don't want their defenders doing such things!
Goober Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 He wont, but he's definitely been on par - if not better than Clyne this year for me. I really thought he was shite last year . Unbelievable again today though, what an absolute warrior.
fazzyfox Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 England tend to pick full backs on their attacking ability, Glen Johnson and Baines prime examples. A right back who doesn't make mistakes and can join in the physical stuff covering his centre halves like Simpson did today would make us a tighter unit so maybe. He certainly won't be in the opposition half whilst the ball hits our net (although he did have a nosebleed moment today nearly scoring) but if we play a diamond we would need an attacking contribution from the right back. Tried to compare Clyne and Walker yesterday, can't decide between them.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 He's been superb since he's come into the team. Excellent performance from him again today.
foxfanazer Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 As others have said he concentrates on being a good defender which England don't want. Deserving of a call up though as is Albrighton
gurru991 Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 Brilliant again today... Does not fit a Woy team though. Our back four were awesome again today. I was one of the many who was slamming him early & apologize
blueharmie Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 Stunning today. Shame he didn't score but what a performance
Jacafox Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 England call up, no chance, however he is my man of the match today and a vital cog in our defence
Royston. Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 i think Woy would sooner play Rooney at right back. Simpson has simply been the best English right back this season but thats not the way the England selection process works so he will just have to make do with a premier league winners medal.
filbertway Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 Doesn't have enough in the locker going forwards as he proved with that awful miss earlier. He works really nicely in our defence as there's no pressure to be a footballer placed on any of them. Absolutely stunning work to stop Mane's shot though, plenty of players would have given that chase up.

A striker will miss 2/3 of them every season I cant remember him ever having another clear cut chance like that. he isnt expected to get too far forward anyway, he's a defender and he's been very good at that. its not like we've suffered too much from lack of a attacking right back, oh yeah, the guy who plays attacking right is one of the best in the league!
Sir Shep Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 If we changed our name to leicesterpool perhaps. I mean I don't think there's a better English fullback but he doesn't play in London or it's fashionable northern satallites of Manchester or Liverpool.
Fox92 Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 Yes. He's England's best right full back. Clyne is so overrated.
Sharpe's Fox Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 I'd rather we get both Vardy and Drinky in the team which would result in playing narrow and then attacking full backs would be needed.
act smiley Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 If we changed our name to leicesterpool perhaps. I mean I don't think there's a better English fullback but he doesn't play in London or it's fashionable northern satallites of Manchester or Liverpool. Honestly, I think that if there's an off-the-pitch reason for Simpson not being in the England squad, it's far more likely to be related to his criminal conviction than the team he plays for.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 He isn't better than Nathaniel Clyne, let's not be daft
Cincinnati Fox Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 Simpson won't get in and rightly so but how the **** does Bertrand get in the England squads!!
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 He's been in the squad at least once I think, maybe when he was at Newcastle. He's been excellent in recent months.
