Sunderland pre match

Going to be a very tough game. Reckon Mahrez will score (another away goal), and we'll play out a scrappy 1-0 win again...which I'll snap your hand off for!

Thought Shinji and Mahrez looked tired today, both done a lot of travelling in the last week so hopefully they get a good rest. I know Morgan did too but he does what he wants and he's always alright.

Can't wait for it.

Maybe its the drink + euphoria but I genuinely believe we'll absolutely smash these. Early goal and then just roast them on the break as they look for much needed points.

Would obviously take another 1-0 (O'Shea OG) with 12% possession

Serial relegation battlers with a history of getting results at this stage in the season.

Can't take it for granted.

I feel a draw, even in last year's amazing run they held us to a draw, this year to be the same... :(

Hopefully Norwich win on the Saturday, meaning that Sunderland will be 6 pts from safety. That way, they won't be able to just sit in and play for a draw, they will have to come at us and that will play right into our hands.

Van Aanholt likes to go forward and seems to forget his defensive duties a lot of the time, so you would like to think that Mahrez can do some damage on that side.

I'm very confident about this game, I'll probably be a bit more nervy nearer the time but for now I'm going to say 2-0 Leicester.

Sunderland need the win but knowing Big Sam, that still doesn't mean an open, attacking game from them, it means defend defend defend and try and nick a 1-0...

We should beat these comfortably if we play with good tempo and quality but we seem to struggle against these teams low down in the table. I'm hoping we blow them away with fast, slick football and Mahrez is back on fire, but it could be similar to the Newcastle/Villa games where we struggle to get anything going and it's a tense, tight game with a 1-0 to either side.

Really hope we beat them as can see Man U getting something at Spurs and we could go 10 points clear!  :o

I remember that Wigan used to be relegation experts and would somehow survive year upon year.

Good to see them doing well in Division 1 this year....................

Sunderland and Big Sam take note, you might want to check the small print in your contracts.

They will sit back, so it will be another tough team we will have to break down.

They aren't going to come at us lol Sam is smarter then that.

Get the first goal, we win.

The west brom result means they need to attack which will play into our hands. They are a dangerous team though...

Dangerous from set plays

Defoe is dangerous in the box

Borini is dangerous from distance

Johnson is dangerous in a playground....

I thought we looked shattered against Saints, never rotating players is taking its toll. Honestly wouldn't argue against a couple of changes to freshen things up a bit, the strikers and wingers get through so much work they look jaded.

I agree some players looked shattered, but there was the small matter of internationals and travel/time differences to contend with, as well as he emotional impact. I suspect a week of drug taking  recovery time will sort things out to a decent extent..........

I think this is more due to the international fixtures and travel across time zones. Mahrez played in poor conditions in East africa, Shinji had been in Japan etc. (although Wes only came back from Jamaica on Friday and with a head cold to boot).

A weeks rest now until Blunderland

Agreed, I'd give Gray and Ulloa a run out from the beginning.

reset counters to zero and start again!

It really is one match at a time now, and a match like Blunderland should on paper, be a shoe-in for us. At this stage in the season the table really doesn't lie.

However this time last year, a point each suited both us us. This time around, we both need a win, Blunderland to have any hope of staying up, us as insurance against losses in the run-in.

This won't be an easy match at all, Defoe always looks dangerous and the team are fighting for their very lives now. But unless nerves kick in - which I don't see any sign of really - I would go for 2-1 to City. Just imagine if Spurs drop another point against Manure on the Saturday!

I'm trying to work out where "Blunderland" comes in the rankings of:

Lolverpool.

ManUre

Spuds

Notts Florist

Direby

Chaventry

Farcenal

Bryan Munchen

And I'm thinking lower mid table.

If Chelski can but 4 by a hapless Villa there is no reason why we can't do the same at Sunderland but I'd be happy with another 1-0 victory.

Nonsense - unlike Villa, Sunderland haven't given up and as a team fighting for survival with some great players to hand and under the direction of Sam, should be afforded the respect that they deserve.

Spot on - there is fight left in them and it will be a tough edgy match I think
