Cadno'r Cymoedd Posted 18 April 2016 Posted 18 April 2016 We were essentially without jv over Christmas when he was clearly unfit & we had a serious wobble. Without him in the team I'd fear a repeat. Swansea best we can hope for is a draw, we've been getting through games despite playing badly mainly because of jv. Honestly feel that every game he's out for will reduce our chances of winning a match to 25%. He gets that extra ban I think it's all over. Spurs will most likely win all their remaining matches cannot see anything other than a win for them tonight. We should just phone up White Hart Lane and tell Spurs to pick up their trophy then? .....
Countryfox Posted 18 April 2016 Posted 18 April 2016 Found the actor to play Jon Moss in the film .... with a bit of make up he can play Vaz too.
LJS Posted 18 April 2016 Posted 18 April 2016 Let's also not forget that Okazaki is a goalscorer. He was for Mainz and he is for Japan. Here he has played in the support striker role. As the main man I'm certain he'll score goals. I seem to remember him playing as the more advanced striker in the cup game at White Hart Lane and acquitting himself very well indeed.
Lcfc_lass10 Posted 18 April 2016 Posted 18 April 2016 We're not a one man team, we can cope and adjust when we need to. Where's the positivity gone?!
NotQuiteAFox Posted 18 April 2016 Posted 18 April 2016 Mate, I think what you meant to say is that we can find a way to play, to win without Vardy. And I agree with you. We have done before, we can again. Personally, I think it's a good thing we have Swansea next. I'd expect us to beat them even without the division's top goal scorer in our side. But I do hope it doesn't become a longer ban. Utd away is made for Vardy and the counter attack. Good translating Agreed. If United can't beat Villa at home by more then a goal then I'd back us to do the job at Old Trafford. I've a nasty feeling it'll be a two game ban though.
NotQuiteAFox Posted 18 April 2016 Posted 18 April 2016 There's being positive and then there's being deluded. Without Vardy we're seriously struggling for goals. Especially with Riyad going totally off the boil. And abandoning all hope because we're missing one player for one or two games isn't deluded? The lads will be smarting from all this, if theres any team out there that can step up and respond after what happened yesterday its us. And we've been struggling for goals for the past 5-6 games, but we've managed.
volpeazzurro Posted 18 April 2016 Posted 18 April 2016 We are falling into the trap of believing the press in that we are only a 1 or 2 man team. Vardy has been brilliant undoubtedly this year along with the other press favourite Marhez and more recently Kante (took weeks for the dippy buggers to cotton on to Kante, who imo would be more of a loss)! Those of us that watch them week in week out live see what the team is achieving and why we have been getting results based on teamwork. Cast your mind back to last year, Vardy rarely scoring, no Kante, Fuchs or Okazaki and a leaky unconfident defence leaking goals til Huth arrived....yet we still ground out those results to complete the greatest escape ever with a seige mentality second to none! So then, what about now when the same team of very close mates feel aggrieved at the way they were treated yesterday, are they likely to lie down and give up or let it galvanise them even further and refuse to give in, just like before. Don’t be suprised, whoever Ranieri picks, if they rush out of the blocks against Swansea with the smell of injustice in their nostrils and willing to die for the cause! And when Vardy does get back, how do you think he'll perform? Not exactly a shrinking violet is he! For me Ranieri behind the scenes will use this to focus them and steal them for the task ahead, I wouldn't like to be in Swansea 's shoes!
goose2010 Posted 18 April 2016 Posted 18 April 2016 So does anyone know if it actually boils down to whether or not the referee reports Vardy for his abusive language, or could the FA take action even if the referee did not report it? All down to the ref, if he doesn't report it then charges cant be made. It could drag on for a bit two as obviously we can appeal the charge which is a risk as it could then be extended from a 2 match to 3 match. Should know by the end of the day / tomorrow morning as the refs get 48 hours to put in their reports.

Agreed - the creation of siege mentality in this scenario is very useful. 'The World vs Us' would be a good thing to have in the players heads.

Either the ref reports it and JV gets another match ban or he decides he had a bad day at the office and lets it go. As I said yesterday, much would depend on how Vardy was once he'd cooled down. A humble and meaningful apology in private after the match may go a long way towards placating the ref.
Lcfc_lass10 Posted 18 April 2016 Posted 18 April 2016 Do we find out whether he'll be charged soon? They have until the close of business tomorrow.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 18 April 2016 Posted 18 April 2016 If vardy gets a ban I'm getting on spurs to win the thing at 3/1. Would mean a drastic change in the way we play and it maybe just to late in the season for us to do that. Have full faith we can beat swansea without him, but would want him in the side for Utd and Everton. I see betting against us in this situation as bad as those touts in being fickle, greedy and traitors! In my opinion that is shameful and disgraceful if you do and it happens enjoy you 30 pieces of fkn silver!
Stevosevic Posted 18 April 2016 Posted 18 April 2016 They have until the close of business tomorrow. I read it was COB today...I hope it's today
ARM1968 Posted 18 April 2016 Posted 18 April 2016 How many games have we won recently with out Vardy scoring? There have been s few.

I remember him playing that role away at Hull. Completely useless. I hope he steps up and fills Vardy's boots, but I have my doubts.
les-tah Posted 18 April 2016 Posted 18 April 2016 The cruel fact is if Jon Moss blows it up to the FA and vardy gets banned for longer and it affects our title chances then he must be prepared to get the obligatory hate mail and threats that all public enemies get . (Not from me ) All in all, basically its better he says he wants no further action for his own sake.
kingcarr21 Posted 18 April 2016 Posted 18 April 2016 How many games have we won recently with out Vardy scoring? There have been s few. Just because Vardy didn't score doesn't mean he wasn't a massive influence on how the team played. Daft post
ImBlue Posted 18 April 2016 Posted 18 April 2016 How many games have we won recently with out Vardy scoring? There have been s few. It's not just his goals is it though? He gets us out under pressure, causes problems with pace, closes down and sets people up. All in addition to his goals.
Rincewind Posted 18 April 2016 Posted 18 April 2016 Are there not assessors at the game? If Moss reports Vardy it will not sit well if the assessor puts in a bad report against him. There were complaints from both sides about him. I saw a piece from an ex ref on the LTID site and he said Moss lost the plot.
Lcfc_lass10 Posted 18 April 2016 Posted 18 April 2016 I read it was COB today...I hope it's today That's according to SSN. But they did say it's unlikely to go on for that long, hopefully know by the end of today
hairy Posted 18 April 2016 Posted 18 April 2016 We looked fine without him yesterday and we only had ten men. I am sure the manager will have a plan
fatmando Posted 18 April 2016 Posted 18 April 2016 Schlupp up top with Okazki using Leo as super sub as per'.
les-tah Posted 18 April 2016 Posted 18 April 2016 Okazaki will start and he will fall over 345 times.
UPinCarolina Posted 18 April 2016 Posted 18 April 2016 I remember him playing that role away at Hull. Completely useless. I hope he steps up and fills Vardy's boots, but I have my doubts. TBF everyone was useless against Hull.
