brisfox Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 Sorry, but you get no sympathy here. The rule is very clear, if you smoke you get thrown out. What part of that didn't you understand. You took the risk and got caught. If you want to blame somebody, go stand in front of the mirror

MC Prussian Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 Another interesting aspect is whether your seat will remain empty or not for the Everton game...
Leicester_Numan Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 My mate got kicked out last year for smoking e cig in concourse. I was there but not involved. So there is history. Half time at West Ham approached in concourse and said they been watching me on camera all season and that I was leaving. No one ever came to my seat and warned me. Next thing 12 security physically knocking me about, no negotiation. They asked the police to arrest me which they declined. Next thing letter with ban. Appealed. appeal denied. SK1. I can understand something like that for actual smoking but as it's an e-cig an initial warning would have been more appropriate. However, I've said it before and I'll say it again to everyone, at matches, use nicotine gum or spray, don't take the risk if you know what could happen.
C-man Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 Not having it. OP is bullshitting. I certainly resonate with the OP and don't believe he's bullshitting.Football clubs don't believe in warnings, I had first hand experience of that around 10 years ago (not for smoking). If they can ban you and re-sell your seat the better. For an e-cig as well, come on I understand why they are banned - presumably as they make stewards' jobs difficult because from a distance they can't tell the difference between vape and smoke and if you allowed them plenty of smokers would take the chance. If they'd been watching all season why on earth did they wait until the penultimate game to take any action?
LCFC FOX Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 OP do you sit near Union FS about 10 to 12 rows from the top? If so I'm not surprise they've noticed you as sometimes when you've blew it I've thought it was someone was letting off a smoke bomb But still very very harsh
stripeyfox Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 On the one hand, I detest smoking and since the club makes no distinction between "real" and "e" cigs - it is all the same. Private property - their rules. If they ask you not to smoke then you should not do so. Same as if I asked you not to smoke in my house, you probably would't nip off to the toilet for a crafty one (fag!). The rules are clear and it is annoying when people do not respect them. Having said that, it does seem extremely harsh to ban you. You say "the last two games" - does that mean you were banned for Swansea? There is a problem with smoking. The toilets in the concourses absolutely reek of smoke at half time and nothing is done - apart from randomly banning you. Were you smoking "In your seat" or elsewhere?

GaelicFox Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 Banned for last 2 games including Everton. For smoking a fkin e cig. Disgusted with the way the club have handled this. Life long fan season ticket holder and gonna miss the biggest game in our history... Gutted ain't the word You don't sit in family stand buddy do you ? Guy there uses one through whole game , I quite like the smell but one tool bag behind me grassed him up to stewards I didn't know they were banned

Guy there uses one through whole game , I quite like the smell but one tool bag behind me grassed him up to stewards I didn't know they were banned They are clearly banned. It is on all the notices, the scoreboard and they make regular announcements on the tannoy. It is also in your season ticket T&C's I'm not saying the punishment isn't harsh but I'd be amazed if anyone thought it was ok to "vape" without checking first!

I'll tell the lad infront of me , he uses it virtually whole game I'd say he was a heavy heavy smoker Very nice family would hate to see him banned I don't smoke so never look or listen for those announcements
Collymore Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 I personally find e-cigs disgusting and hate it if someone uses one near me. I agree you should have had a warning though and the timing is cruel. They should concentrate on banning the ***** who smoke in the toilets at halftime giving no consideration to anybody.
Merging Cultures Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 The seat will be filled. The stewerds will let their mate in...
m4DD0gg Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 To the OP sorry but what did you expect? I am a smoker and go outside when they open the gates, i have tried an e-Cig before but would never use it in a public place as its not fair on others.

HighPeakFox Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 Much as I dislike smoking, and the disdain smokers often have for the effect their habit might have on others, and much as the rules might be explicit...........I still loathe and detest policing/stewarding of this type, and the culture that makes this sort of behaviour possible or even vaguely ok.
mozartfox Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 Shocking and OTT. So a punter can turn-up wearing a Spuds shirt and that is perfectly OK but you get banned for a 'vape'? What is going on down at the KP?
Guest Bob Hazels shorts Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 Seems like the act of defiance hasn't paid off
Jimothy Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 If you knew your mate had been kicked out for doing the same thing, then I'm afraid I've got no sympathy for you doing it too and expecting a different outcome. Had this been a few months back you probably wouldn't have grumbled this much. Fact is you knew, from what happened to your mate, that you could get banned, and you chose to take the risk of getting banned right before the biggest game in our history.
StanSP Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 Speak to Football Supporters Federation if you feel you've been wronged.
David Hankey Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 To my mind there's no difference between smoking a cigarette and an e-cig and we all know what the Club's policy is, we're told every match day. Why put yourself in that position?
MC Prussian Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 I can understand the frustration, given the action the club has taken. But it's not like you didn't know about the rules and regulations at a football match? It makes me wonder why smokers can't even hold out for roughly two hours without going for a cig. Fetch yourself one before and one after - after all, smoking is a bad habit, so why not alter you daily (or weekly) procedures slightly?
kingcarr21 Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 Without warning There are warnings everywhere. The stuff ****ing stinks. Quite frankly you shoud've known better. That being said the club probably could have been a little more lenient. Maybe issue a formal warning or something.
norwichfox Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 I'm an ex smoker and when I smell a ciggy being lit I couId follow them till it's finished, but don't want to get done for stalking Although it's the rules...it's still harsh if it's the first time. A warning would have been fair and a wake up call. Ask for footage of the incident and see who left their seat to go and report you
