MC Prussian Posted 2 May 2016 Posted 2 May 2016 I wish people would start using the "League Champions 2016" tag once we've actually won the thing. Makes a bit of cringeworthy watching. Nothing beats tempting fate so late into this season, is it?
CosbehFox Posted 2 May 2016 Posted 2 May 2016 Decent day out almost rubies on the final leg home by a group of #lads who'd had too much and got a bit lairy. Bloke on his own on the train stood up to them on behalf of some girls and almost got a kicking for his troubles. Some of our fans are pathetic Yeah sounds about right. My mate was threatened with an elbow when he politely asked a lad to hurry up getting back to his seat/position (game in progress and he stood still). We had some right publicity seeking goobers which was a shame. The atmosphere pre match was great.

Nothing beats tempting fate so late into this season, is it? Couldn't agree more. Feels like people are getting ahead of themselves and aren't focusing on the job in hand. Personally didn't think the away end was that good yesterday, although that'll be masked by everyone staying behind at the end. Loads around me that weren't getting involved during the game and it seemed like a few non regulars had somehow managed to get hold of tickets. Also well done to the chap in the upper tier that tried to get the fans going only to be kicked out.
act smiley Posted 2 May 2016 Posted 2 May 2016 Just watched back Drinky's second yellow. Barely touches him and then the kid dives. The refs need to be more consistent on this. Shocking that Vardy could be pulled back and nothing is done, other than yellow card him for going down. Yet, Drinky hardly touches Deepay and he falls over, and it's Drinky who gets the yellow. The mind boggles. The problem is that shirt pulling is in the rules as a yellow card with no discretion for the ref. So either they pretend they've not seen it (difficult when he goes down like Willem Dafoe in Platoon) or people get super harsh second yellow like that.

Holding.
Fox92 Posted 2 May 2016 Posted 2 May 2016 Enjoyed the day, always like a trip to Old Trafford, thought it was an enjoyable game too. Thought we came out and looked nervous, nobody seemed to want the ball. Their goals somewhat kickstarted us though and after we scored we were the better team. Had plenty of good opportunities to score. Drinkwater's second yellow was probably right for pulling back, I'm just not sure about his first given once Oliver booked the first player (was it Fellaini I think) he just seemed to want to book everybody. Fellaini and Rooney were both annoying, both should have been booked much earlier in the game. Highlight was probably me getting on Sky Sports, BBC News and Match of the Day 2 with my flag as soon as the final whistle goes
Bryn Posted 2 May 2016 Posted 2 May 2016 - Fellaini should have walked - I'd have booked Huth but they're going to clamp down on his hands on approach and he will need to learn - Simpson somehow managed not to commit a foul - Mahrez should have earned a pen - Rooney should have seen two yellows and wasn't the only one on the pitch who should have - Drinkwater probably made two of the less menacing challenges to receive a caution and is unlucky to be the only one to walk - Despite that his red was justified and should have seen a penalty given - Depay dived after the contact, incidentally. You punish the first offense and the dive does not justify Drinkwater grabbing his shoulder. As it didn't for Ogbonna when Vardy was clear; yesterday's was even less of a foul than that one was and we came out on the wrong side of both.
Callabinho Posted 2 May 2016 Posted 2 May 2016 Danny's red is entirely his own fault. His first was a yellow because it was cynical, the issue is that the lad had a bad touch and was going nowhere, so it was needless. His second he gave Oliver no choice as soon as you lay hands on an opponent baring down on the penalty box you're asking for trouble, it was completely brain dead and totally unnecessary. I agree with others our current lack of discipline Is alarming, Huth will be lucky to escape a ban also.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 2 May 2016 Posted 2 May 2016 Just watched MotD. Ain't convinced that Fellaini didn't elbow Huth at the same time Huth grabbed a chunk o' frizz - not because he'd grabbed it. I also thought that Rijo had accidentally blocked Riyad - turns out he'd fouled him. Pig Rooney should have been red carded for the second (third) bookable on Gray. So apologies to all those people who said Oliver had a sh1t game - I thought you were exaggerating. He missed/ignored/allowed blatant foul (in the true sense of the word) play and red-carded Drinky for innocuous stuff. So, once more, a referee has a nightmare to our disadvantage - and yet one more ref. to be snaffled in the so-called 'Theatre of Dreams'. Influenced, intimidated, badgered, distracted - whatever pressure he succumbed to - I think we did remarkably well to get the result we did. Keown said tonight that we'd have to fight for it. Too true. Thank you for admitting this buddyTold you he had a stinker Shame really as it would of been an even better game without the ref making those mistakes Anyway onwards and upwards Up the Foxes
ImBlue Posted 2 May 2016 Posted 2 May 2016 Drinkwater getting an extra game ban? Reaction to sending off. Coming out in a few newspapers

He saw he was wrong side and depay was quicker... So he intends to get the other side but making a quick shuffling move around him barely touching him... Depay feels minimal contact on his shoulder and his legs give way... Dive! All the pundits outstand me calling that blatant peno and vards a ****ing dive
Guest Col city fan Posted 2 May 2016 Posted 2 May 2016 The inconsistency of referees really does need looking at. They are only human..they will make errors. But some of them we've seen this season are having a huge impact on games. Huge. I'm not sure I like the idea of stopping games for video evidence all the time, but I wonder if we'll get there in the end. Something needs doing. Especially the red cards. They are waved around like confetti at the moment. Maybe a sin bin idea? Something anyway.
narboroughblue Posted 2 May 2016 Posted 2 May 2016 Just watched Dermot Gallagher talk about the decisions. His thoughts were Huth will get 3 games as earlier in the season two lower league players got that for hair pulling. He didn't think Rooney should get a second yellow as it was off the ball. The others in the studio sat there in disbelief at this comment. Makes me think the referees are so insulated they are looking at a different game. Quote like col's sin bin idea. Perhaps a red is a red but two yellows is 10 mins sin bin with third yellow being a red. Or some variation.

Red cards really ruin a match and should be reserved for reckless behaviour or gross contempt.
Corky Posted 2 May 2016 Posted 2 May 2016 He didn't think Rooney should get a second yellow as it was off the ball. What the fvck? Why else would you pull or trip someone unless it was to stop them getting near the ball or you'd had a bit of previous?

I also think Video evidence has to come in but I'd restrict it to 2 or 3 calls from the Captains per match. That way the game will be less stop start and players would want to be sure they are right. At least this would stop games being totally ruined as in most cases with sending offs.

I've said before...all this throwing around red cards so easily is having a big effect on games. Not only for sport but for gambling too (I like a flutter). The number of games I've bet on this season where the outcome has been decided by the ref is no joke.
GaelicFox Posted 2 May 2016 Posted 2 May 2016 A nice touch from the owners at the end too, they walked down the touch line from the directors box and stood in front of us for what seemed like ages thanking us. Despite what some on here say about the way the club operates, web site, ticket allocations etc, these are the best owners in the whole 92, fantastic of them to come over to us at the end. Did you see that moron from the United stewards pushing them off the side of the pitch ? physically pushing top and his dad , They are great owners and they were totally in awe of our chanting a full 15- 20 mins after full time

No, I know, never gonna happen - which is a shame in a way, because it's not the odd bit of gamesmanship these days, it's all the time.

I'd love to see your reaction if we had someone like Fellaini playing for us Also, last time we had to replace Drinkwater for a game against Everton, we brought on Dean Hammond, who is currently getting torn to bits in League 1.
Steameh Posted 2 May 2016 Posted 2 May 2016 Drinkwater getting an extra game ban? Reaction to sending off. Coming out in a few newspapers Yet rooney gets away without ny ban whatsoever yet was constantly disrespectful to the ref and always in his ear influencing decisions. Disgrace if true
Harry - LCFC Posted 2 May 2016 Posted 2 May 2016 Those in the away end will no doubt have noticed the numerous pockets of Leicester fans that popped up after the full time whistle. It was quite amusing to see. For those who weren't there, here are some pictures of them celebrating and joining in with chants when the United fans had left.

Sure Kingy got the nod at Christmas after Drinkwater went off injured vs Chelsea.
TJB-fox Posted 2 May 2016 Posted 2 May 2016 That means he is weakest in the team.whole game MU dominated his side, goal was his fault, one huge mistake at centre and e.t.c. if all these not enough,ok bye Jesus wept. Just deactivate your account now you pillock. Simpsons been absolutely top draw this season and yes it was his man that scored yesterday but Morgan should've given him a shout to leave the man he was marking and get over to Martial-so not all his fault. He was good yesterday
