foxes21 Posted 25 May 2016 Posted 25 May 2016 I honestly believe Ranieri wants another LB as back up for Fuchs. Chilwell is Fuchs replacement when he goes to America. But could it be too soon to make Chilwell a regular? That could be Ranieri's thinking, dont forget this is a very very important season in our clubs history. Chilwell is an attacking fullback, it could be argued we need a more experienced, defensive back up. There's still work that needs doing if Chilwell wants to be a regular here Imo. A loan to the champ again would do him or us no harm.
Loggy88 Posted 25 May 2016 Posted 25 May 2016 Chilwell should be patient, I don't want to see him go as I think he could be one of the best left backs in the country. Fuchs has been superb and you just can't take him out the side unless he has a poor run of form.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ranieri has this in his mid to long term plans and Chilwell fitting the bill for that kind of player.
filbertway Posted 25 May 2016 Posted 25 May 2016 What do people think if Ben Hamers reply to one of Ben chilwell a Instagram clips of him scoring a goal? Is it just me or does anyone else get really irritated by This spoilt little shiit Ben chilwell, that really is too big for his boots ... really hope he turns into a failed Joe mattock if he leaves. Purely because he's came across a right mug. image.png 2 team mates having a joke and a bunch of pathetic people inbetween.
Ric Flair Posted 25 May 2016 Posted 25 May 2016 If he goes to Liverpool he's got way more competition for places and one less competition to get an opportunity in. That Gomez was unreal at the start of the season and he'll be back for next season along with Moreno and a couple of other youngsters who do well when called upon like Flanagan. Brainless move if he goes.

Ric Flair Posted 25 May 2016 Posted 25 May 2016 I think Gomez is more of a cb that was shunted out to left back. Is he? He looked a natural full back as well, very quick and direct. filbertway Posted 25 May 2016 Posted 25 May 2016 Is he? He looked a natural full back as well, very quick and direct. I think that's why he was used at full back, he can play and is an absolute unit, only 19 as well. A lad I know that supports Charlton told me he played cb for them. I had the same reaction as you until I had a look myself haha.

If he wants to go let him, I thought he did well when he came in but didn;t stand out as anything special against Spurs reserves.

The Railway Man Posted 25 May 2016 Posted 25 May 2016 Chilwell would get 10+ starts next season minimum for us. He would still only start FA and League Cup games, Fuchs is still a comfortable first choice for league and CL. Fuchs played 32 games this year and never looked tired, I'm sure he'll be able to manage 40.

If he starts playing CL too, he'll be well under that. Can't see Fuchs playing every league game, especially if we have an important CL game coming up.

gurru991 Posted 25 May 2016 Posted 25 May 2016 Playing once a week is optimum for most players. Twice a week is tough & injuries tend to happen more. We will need a balanced squad who the manager has faith in. I'm sure if Chilwell stays he will get 20 games overall.
FrankieADZ Posted 25 May 2016 Posted 25 May 2016 I see Koln has signed a new LB, possibly to replace Jonas Hector who Liverpool are meant to be keen on, if Chilwell does go there, can imagine he'd be in a worse position if they get Hector in aswell but hey ho
Tielemans63 Posted 25 May 2016 Posted 25 May 2016 I'm watching him playing for the U21s vs Paraguay and to be fair, he does look very good indeed. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
GingerrrFox Posted 25 May 2016 Posted 25 May 2016 I rate Rico Henry higher than Chilwell. If we can get £5 million+ I'd pump that straight back into Rico. He's gonna be the best English left back over the next decade.

GingerrrFox Posted 25 May 2016 Posted 25 May 2016 We've been linked with him before an'all haven't we? Yeah we have, I genuinely think if Chilly leaves that Henry will come into replace him. Henry is top notch and is in a similar mould to Demmy Gray in that he's got valuable experience in league football. He's only 18 and already has 40+ games under his belt.
The Doctor Posted 25 May 2016 Posted 25 May 2016 At the end of the day, he's not a Leicester lad, he's from Bedford and if you had the choice would you rather live in Leicester over Liverpool or London? Most players have that dream of signing on the dotted line for a big club and I think he'd have a better chance of pushing Moreno or Flanagan out than Fuchs, or who knows if Claudio is considering bringing in another LB and Chilwell feels as though the manager doesn't have faith in him? Why do people ask this? The players aren't going to be renting some dilapidated shack in the highfields estate, and the county is lovely.
Foxxed Posted 25 May 2016 Posted 25 May 2016 They'll go where their relatively short career is best served, not wherever is prettiest, I'd imagine. And commute if they're not keen on the city, a la Drinky. But what's this about Leicestershire's countryside? Manchester has the Pennines. Liverpool has north Wales coastline nearby. We have a bunch of fields. Get a grip.

Obviously Leicester not a Paris or Rome and the county isn't the French Riviera, but people acting as if Leicestershire's a shit-hole need to stick their head out of the window at some point - it's a fairly nice place.
