RoyFox Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 If he does stay, pray he doesn't read this Forum or Facebook. Some very quick to slate the fellow based on speculation...
ramadaone Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 Partially so yes. But his agent is also making him look like a bit of a cock. For someone who hasn't played more than 3 games for the first team I think not signing a £20k a week contract for a club who have brought him through is ridiculous. If in 6 months he's displaced Fuchs and is first choice then by all means demand £40/50k a week or whatever but I'd say his agent for now is seemingly being a bit greedy and its understandably frustrating as a Leicester fan. However if he does want to go then yes you're correct he is doing a good job. I take it then that you think he's off ? I honestly have no idea His Agent is obviously fuelling the fire whilst he is away with England to try and ensure he ( the Agent ) makes the most out of any new deal. Suppose he is only doing his job but having met quite a few they are just the scum of the earth in my opinion. If Chilly really wanted to stay he could have sorted a deal without an Agent. The Gaffer said it often enough that if players didn't want to stay they could **** off and I think that was a bit of a dig at Chilly.

Vast majority of them will manipulate as much as they can. I just hope that Chilwell at the age of just 18/19 actually makes the decision he wants and isn't being influenced by the wrong kind. As fantastic as he may be currently he can't argue that he should be starting over Fuchs currently. And I'm sorry but even if Liverpool sack Moreno off they're surely going to replace him with someone and have chilwell as second choice. Looking at arsenal the situation would be similar. It's likely in twelve months time he'll be starting for us so let's just hope he sees sense and signs what is already an absurd amount of money (assuming £20k a week) for someone with his experience.
st albans fox Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 For some perspective, Alli moved to Spurs on 30k per week and this was increased to 43k midway through the season in response to his performances (and the fact that his mate afobe moved to Bournemouth on a similar salary). Not sure Chilwell can moan about an offer of 20k (especially when he has probably pocketed 250k since Xmas in the points bonus scheme). Take the contract and then prove yourself. if you are good enough the big money will find you.
Itsblueuptnorth Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 If its true that he's stalled an 18k a week offer in sight of a better deal then rip up his contract and **** him off.
TJB-fox Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 Obviously not (m)any of us know what's gone on behind closed doors so I'm not going to judge the lad. From the fans point of view though it does seem a silly decision for him. Hope he knows what he's doing!
foxes161 Posted 21 May 2016 Posted 21 May 2016 he's a talented young kid and with teams like liverpool and arsenal interested can you blame him for waiting? it could backfire but he's talented enough. He needs playing time so staying another year or two makes sense
LcFc_Smiv Posted 21 May 2016 Posted 21 May 2016 While there is a lot of rumours flying around with no actual evidence of anything at all, don't forget we have a staff that work extremely hard on ensuring everyone involved is a correct fit for the club. We have seen it with the search for a new manager and the countless numbers of transfers that haven't quite made it over the line. Chilwell will know the philosophy of the club and I'm pretty sure our staff won't be held to ransom by any player of their agent.

At his age, if we terminate his current contract (40 grand a year) we get nothing. alternative is to sell him now for 3 mill min or let him go at the end of next year when his contract runs out and we are entitled to compensation (lpool paid burnley 6mill for ings). I hope those working for the club don't follow your advice !
Tielemans63 Posted 21 May 2016 Posted 21 May 2016 If he goes, he goes. Rumours are that Liverpool are close to signing Jonas Hector the German left back so it's likely he'll be in exactly the same position he was here - appearing in a few cup games here and there. It was widely reported Alli was on around 10 - 15k when he moved from MK unless you have better knowledge about it.
David Hankey Posted 21 May 2016 Posted 21 May 2016 At the end of the day if he's not happy with his lot then sell him. It's unfortunate as he is, undoubtedly, a talented player but as someone famously once said; "you can't please all of the people all of the time".
Foxxed Posted 21 May 2016 Posted 21 May 2016 If its true that he's stalled an 18k a week offer in sight of a better deal then rip up his contract and **** him off. IF anyone of it is true, he may be stalling because he wants more first team football, rather than because he wants an extra 5k to sit on the bench.
Patrick Posted 21 May 2016 Posted 21 May 2016 At the end of the day, he's not a Leicester lad, he's from Bedford and if you had the choice would you rather live in Leicester over Liverpool or London? Most players have that dream of signing on the dotted line for a big club and I think he'd have a better chance of pushing Moreno or Flanagan out than Fuchs, or who knows if Claudio is considering bringing in another LB and Chilwell feels as though the manager doesn't have faith in him?
It'sblueupnorth Posted 21 May 2016 Posted 21 May 2016 IF anyone of it is true, he may be stalling because he wants more first team football, rather than because he wants an extra 5k to sit on the bench. LCFC will be in 4 competitions next season, if he doesn't have the foresight to see first team openings if he puts in the hard work then he's clearly not prepared to earn his stripes. He has as much chance of getting first team football here next season than he does at Arsenal or Liverpool, although there won't be any great deal of difference in how many appearances he actually makes for any club next year. Then again there might not be any truth in the rumours whatsoever
Strokes Posted 21 May 2016 Posted 21 May 2016 At the end of the day, he's not a Leicester lad, he's from Bedford and if you had the choice would you rather live in Leicester over Liverpool or London? I do have the choice, I'm like an actual adult.
Patrick Posted 21 May 2016 Posted 21 May 2016 I do have the choice, I'm like an actual adult. So you aren't restricted as to where you live by employment or socio-economic factors? We're talking about a lad who will be on a decent salary, will be able to afford a nice apartment in the city and will probably want to live the high life as a young footballer.

Pretty sure many footballers just commute to training etc.

Believe me I've worked all over the UK and I wouldn't chose to live in London or Liverpool, horrible places.

Why would anybody want to live in liverpool?
GingerrrFox Posted 21 May 2016 Posted 21 May 2016 This is the issue with modern football. A 19 year old who's proved nothing is turning down 20k a week from a club who has just won the League and is in the Champions League and has the opportunity to play in 4 competitions next season. He would easily play 15+ games next season.

Problem is kids these days just want to play for the big names...so much for CL mattering in some's guys decisions.

Claridge Posted 21 May 2016 Posted 21 May 2016 Very one footed, not that quick, bit weak and no where near Fuchs class.may develop into a good player, but seems a bit of a cnut already. Not bothered if he leaves or stays
