Countryfox Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 I'm not sure Claudio would describe Chilwell as one of our "stars" ! That's what I've just said.
davieG Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 Leicester City's Ben Chilwell plays his part in England under-21s' Toulon win over Portugal By RobTanner | Posted: May 20, 2016 Getty Images Ben Chilwell (20) evades a tackle from a Portugal opponent in Toloun Comments (0) Leicester City's Ben Chilwell played the full 80 minutes as England under-21s got their Toulon Tournament off to a winning start. Left-back Chilwell helped Gareth Southgate's men keep a clean sheet as they beat Portugal 1-0 in Toulon's Stade Léo Lagrange. Chelsea midfielder Lewis Baker scored the winner on the hour in a game that was only 40 minutes each way. Southgate's side are next in action on Monday when they face Guinea, who lost their Group B opener 3-1 to Paraguay. "The pleasing thing was this sets things up now," said Southgate. "We have had a chance to have a look at some new players, which is part of it, and I'm really pleased with our approach to the game and the way we moved the ball in particular, because it was a pretty gale force wind here. "We played a different system and we've only had a few days to work at that. I thought the midfield was very good." Chilwell's City team-mates Danny Drinkwater and Jamie Vardy are with the senior squad ahead of their European Championship warm-up match against Turkey at the Stadium of Light on Sunday lunchtime. foxes21 Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 I think what's happened is, Ranieri wants a more experienced fullback to be back up for Fuchs. He probably thinks Chilwell would benefit from a couple seasons out on loan & see's him as a Fuchs replacement, eventually. Chilwell obviously wants to be first team here, but he isn't going to displace Fuchs so..
Foxxed Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 If there's a serious possibility he'll get the main role at Liverpool, and he finds the idea of being number two to Fuchs for a season more so appalling, then I fully expect him to go. So, a RB, LB, CB, FW to get now then. I hope Walsh is tapping away furiously at this phone on whatever Caribbean beach he's currently on.

les-tah Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 im getting tired of this Chilwell saga. If he really does want to leave then let the little spoilt shiitbag go. Could all be lies though.
Thracian Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 Some say he's nailed on for Liverpool who've not yet bid and who's potential bid is reported to be £2m under supposed rival Arsenal's previous, supposed £5m bid. That's a lot of "supposeds/potentials" which actually suggest Leicester would be better off hanging onto him for the last year of his contract as cover for Fuchs. Meanwhile it is also reported that Chilwell is still "mulling over" his reported £18,000 a week offer. With Liverpool now having failed to secure a place in European football it may be that the "mulling over" gets more focused bearing in mind that both Leicester's reported "on the table" offer with the virtually guaranteed involvement in European football, together with Arsenals guaranteed European place, both look significantly more attractive as it stands. .
Biro Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 Mercury reporting £3m fee As a rule, if the Merc headline says 'transfer rumours', they're reporting what's been said elsewhere. If it says 'transfer news', then it's their own information.
st albans fox Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 if we think he is that good then we should allow his contract to run down on 800 quid a week! pointless to accept 3 mill and potentially increase the strength of an opposition defence. because of his age, we will get a fee even if his contract is expired. of course, there may be a lpool player we fancy that klopp wants rid of ??
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 Remember the last time a prodigal left back from the academy ditched us becasue he thought he was too good for us?
Fox92 Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 £3million is such a poor fee for a player with his potential but fvck him if he wants to leave. Can't be bothered with players that think they are better or bigger than us.
Foxxed Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 If he does stay, I want nothing less than more interceptions and tackles than Kante, better pass completion rate than Fuchs and for everyone's bottled water turned into wine. And goals. Lots of them.
Thracian Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 Remember the last time a prodigal left back from the academy ditched us becasue he thought he was too good for us? We don't seem to have much luck with Academy graduates! What with Mattock turning to bar-room brawling, Sheehan supposedly turning down a year's contract extension, the Merc suggesting Chilwell wants out, Gradel leaving under-utilised, Weso suffering a catalogue of injuries, Porter making his untimely leap into a career cul-de-sac, Moore's fortunes going up and now down like a "test my strength" indicator and Logan spending more years on a bench than the city's senior magistrate, I can only give thanks that Kingy and Schlupp have somehow kept our Academy flag flying with a bit of gusto!
James. Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 Alan Sheehan. God that brings it all back. Golden days on Foxestalk.
Thracian Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 Alan Sheehan. God that brings it all back. Golden days on Foxestalk. It all leaves Billy McKay as arguably one of our top few graduates of recent years and he was hardly heard of while he was here, being seemingly sidelined in his later months at the Academy, by injury and/or Mandaric's foreign legion. And there was Richard Stearman, of course. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_Mckay https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Stearman

Didn't get on with Pearson .... wonder if he wants to come back ......
ramadaone Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 I would say his Agent is doing a great job wouldn't you ? Transfer fee and wages going up on a daily basis
ousefox Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 IF he is turning down £20k a week and a team in the champions league for a bit more money at Liverpool he's mad or being poorly advised. Imagine turning that much down at 18 years old He's either got arrogance beyond his talent, or really is the real deal and knows it. Time will tell.
SecretPro Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 IF he is turning down £20k a week and a team in the champions league for a bit more money at Liverpool he's mad or being poorly advised. Imagine turning that much down at 18 years old He's either got arrogance beyond his talent, or really is the real deal and knows it. Time will tell. How anyone who has made a handful of appearances for the first team should be on £20k a week is well beyond me.
hornyhollthefox123 Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 I would say his Agent is doing a great job wouldn't you ? Transfer fee and wages going up on a daily basis Partially so yes. But his agent is also making him look like a bit of a cock. For someone who hasn't played more than 3 games for the first team I think not signing a £20k a week contract for a club who have brought him through is ridiculous. If in 6 months he's displaced Fuchs and is first choice then by all means demand £40/50k a week or whatever but I'd say his agent for now is seemingly being a bit greedy and its understandably frustrating as a Leicester fan. However if he does want to go then yes you're correct he is doing a good job. I take it then that you think he's off ?
weller54 Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 Let him go! Another Mattock! ...rot with the Scousers!
