I saw his horrendous car parked up there a few times. The one he was moving in with, with his Mrs before they split up. All just rumours obviously.
ARM1968 Posted 5 August 2016 Posted 5 August 2016 Agreed Rob, but he is 'edging' closer. Will he get there? I doubt it. Scholes was simply unreal.

It genuinely wouldn't surprise me if Big Sam didn't just pick him but ends up making him Captain. Seriously. Gotta be worth a fiver......

ronnup Posted 5 August 2016 Posted 5 August 2016 Given Shakespeare's new role the England caps are garaunteed to flood in now for me, and deservedly so. He's the most complete midfielder we've got in England. He's not got the finesse of Ali or the pace / shooting ability of Barkley or Wilshere but he's the all round article we need. Give him 4 years improving at the same rate, he could be very special indeed. I I also think he's going to stay for a long time, he just seems settled and he must see how he's developed in this team/role/system
ARM1968 Posted 5 August 2016 Posted 5 August 2016 AKCJ see couple of posts above sir. I am holding them.
Adster Posted 5 August 2016 Posted 5 August 2016 Big Sam is different to that clueless moron Woy. Sam isn't a Yes Man like Hodgson was. He'll pick players based on form, not the fancy big club prima donnas.

You'd have thought Unless other forces are at work ensuring 'names' from 'name' clubs are selected even if out of form or injured
Stevosevic Posted 5 August 2016 Posted 5 August 2016 Big Sam likes direct effective football, throw in our Assistant manager - our players have a good chance of caps while he's in chance.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 5 August 2016 Posted 5 August 2016 If we could get Drinkwater & Vardy linking up for England like Alli and Kane, it would certainly be the way forward & I think we'd do well. Having players in the England set up who know how each other play will be the key to success IMO. Last season our squad knew each other's strengths and played to that.

With the performance he put in against Barca I'm not even joking. His vision and awareness seem to keep on improving at a rate of knots - those threaded passes down the channels were sublime.
TheLittleBigMan Posted 6 August 2016 Posted 6 August 2016 Really think he'll take it up another level this season. Might even add a few more goals, then he really would be the complete midfielder. He's been fantastic for us and I hope we bloody keep him.

Guest Posted 6 August 2016 Posted 6 August 2016 still don't get the Wilshere love ! He was a disaster at the Euros and shouldn't have been there in place of Drinky.

Apart from a dip in form 3 or 4yrs ago he has continually improved year on year.
lgfualol Posted 6 August 2016 Posted 6 August 2016 I look forward to us taking Wilshire to the next world cup after 4 starts in the next two seasons
Clever Fox Posted 6 August 2016 Posted 6 August 2016 Big Sam likes robust players who can mix it while also possessing skill. While Wilshire has skill I've never seen him offer enough in any match to justify an England place. I think Barkley offers a lot more, although he needs to knuckle down and reach his potential. I also think Vardy and Carroll will make a good combination up front.

Totally agree, I personally think he's not got any better over the past 2-3 years and yes injuries haven't helped but he is nowhere near as good as people make him out to be. He should have been nowhere near that England squad!
