Drinkwater

This is the major problem now for LCFC. Potentially we could give DD, Morgan, kasper, Vardy all new big contract, but to be fair without Kante and Mahrez we don't really know how we are gonna perform. Imagine having to pay all those wages in the championship, it would **** us up.

What we need to do is insert some relegation clauses which include reduced wages of we go down

People STILL don't honesty believe we're a two man team do they?

No, but we barely escaped relegation the year before...

When Drinkwater signed his new deal in the championship, he said he could see himself staying here the rest of his career.

And he isn't saying any different now, he just wants to get paid.

Pay the man, he's worth it.

I put this on the other Drinkwater thread. He's very key to us, and key to the style of football we play.

"When Drinkwater plays well, the whole system of our team plays well. We could, and can manage without him in the side with the depth we have in midfield, but he's ever so key to us and the progression he's made has been fantastic. Hopefully if he stays with us in this window and continues to play in a blue shirt for seasons to come. He's a class act on the field of play - vision, accuracy, link up play, distribution, keeps things moving along nicely and is defensively useful in how he tracks back as well as going forward."

It doesn't sound to me like he's leaving, it just sounds like he's a bit peed off that we've publicly offered Vardy, Mahrez and Kante big new deals, but yet haven't offered other key players like himself and Morgan new deals.

Don't think he's saying anything which makes it sound like he particularly wants to leave, but I could totally understand how to players like him and Morgan - players who were just as key to our success as Mahrez, Vardy and Kante - that it looks like the club isn't recognising just how important to us they are.

is inevitable that once you pay one player big money the others are going to expect better deals too. i'd imagine its just a matter of time before other important players get offered better deals to bring them in line but i guess its a busy time at the minute with looking for new players and trying to keep the ones we have. i'd like to think the club get this one sorted sharpish and i'd be shocked if his contact wasnt near the top of their to do list

To be honest, we are kinda victims of our own success. Having won the league and in the Champs League, it's no surprise that players are being sought after or asking for increased salaries, or both.

I said this right at the end of last season. We've reached a turning point in the future of the club. Do we give them what they want, or not and risk losing them? It's a tightrope spud...a fookin tightrope.

He is gone what's happening leicester

Huh? He's publicly come out and stated he wants to sign a new long term deal, and he's said previously he would spend the rest of his career here (said that even before the title win!) yes we can't believe a word some footballers say but he's basically stating he wants a new deal to try and get a bumper contract but I do genuinely believe he wants to stay. As long as the club don't do anything stupid he won't be going anywhere. Fact

@indykaila says Drinkwater wanted by Chelsea

You must be taking the piss. Drinky and Kante as Chelsea's midfield! They might as well take our whole team.

Indykaila is about as reliable a source as consulting tea leaves, so Chelsea are almost certainly not interested.

Surprised no one has asked Twitter to remove Indy's pages, with the amount of crap and wrong information he has supplied for ages.
