wattolcfc Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Think Vardy has forgot the first rule of lad code: Bros before hoes.

Just been on their forum and yes it doesn't surprise me... he is taking a risk in terms of his career going there that is certain. Financially he will obviously be better off though

Dames Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 130k a week, 4 year contract... Arsenal really have gone all out on this one As great as he has been this season he's simply not worth that. It would completely ruin the wage structure of the club and it would make a lot of people unhappy. He's probably got another season or 2 left at the level he's at and then for 2-3 years on 130k a week he's Arsenals problem not ours.
foxes161 Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 you really would think after what he did here that he would want to stay and play in the CL in the leicester colours..sadly it's all about money and not loyalty
ImBlue Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 If he does read these posts then I hope he is also checking the Arse ones as they ain't that keen on having ya pal. They are warming to it. But the first reactions are always telling. And the lines of 'is it April fools already?' And 'please God no' weren't complimentary. Seems the best compliment they find for him now is that he is a 'scumbag'
cityfanlee23 Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 My take on the vardy situation. The last thing I want is for Vardy to leave, I want him to stay and give us another year to build on our success and grow the club into a position where we can attract the young stars of the future. However, although we gave vardy the chance he needed to save his career, he owes us NOTHING, He could have left us when we were in the championship, and premier league clubs came in for him, He could have left us when we first came up in the summer, he could have left us when Pearson left, and when Southampton put a bid in for him when we had just survived relegation (a far superior team at the time) But he did not, he stuck with us and showed us loyalty when we needed him, and although we need him now, given his efforts and achievements this season, has paid us back with interest and deserves what will be his last chance to join a massive club like arsenal. Let's be blunt, out of Leicester and arsenal next season, you'd have to say they have a better chance than us, that's just being a realist, they are a bigger club and that's a fact. If he goes, we love him and I'll support him 100% on his move and wish him the best of luck, having repaid my faith in him many times over. If he stays, we fight on. Players come and go, Vardy will be no different.

LJS Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Why are people so angry? I've seen no evidence that he has lied. There are no quotes saying "I'll be at Leicester next season". If him leaving partly because of a ****load of extra money is greedy then we're all greedy. 50% payrise. Yes, thanks. If him leaving for an opportunity to play for a much bigger club is disloyal then people who choose to support Leicester City ought to recalibrate their expectations. Anybody blaming his wife - you're essentially a retard. It is possible that he does feel an affinity for the club but wants to test himself somewhere else, somewhere bigger where the expectations are always higher. Emile Heskey has an affinity for the club but still went when a big club came calling. If I were a professional footballer and had achieved something with Leicester City which was likely only happen once then turned down a move to a truly massive club, I'd spend my retirement wondering just how much more I could have done had I not bottled to opportunity.

If Vardy is reading this thread I will summarise for you Jamie: 1) You are a loyal servant to LCFC thanks for everything you have done 2) You are a much better fir for LCFC so please dont leave 3) Your wife is a beautiful human being 4) You are also a very handsome man (not ratty faced at all) 5) We love the way you were drinking a can o'lager on the bus 6) You will always be forever in foxes fans hearts 7) Nobody thinks you have engineered this move, there was nothing you could do!!
Koke Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 I thought there was still a little bit of loyalty left in the game, how wrong was I. We've all been watching football long enough to know there isn't. I hope when we sign a new striker and he bags 30 next season people don't expect any loyalty. Football clubs are not loyal to players and players are not loyal to football clubs. Case in point RDL who has done fantastic for us will shipped out this summer, and nobody here will care.

Southampton are evident of this... every season they struggle to keep players and manager, but what they have proven all isn't lost you can recover even if you lose your best players

Vacamion Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 4) You are also a very handsome man (not ratty faced at all) This compliment is great, until....
Corky Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 I just can't believe we're only going to see £15 million for a 24 goal Premier League striker and England international. Arsenal got £24m for Van Persie who had one year left on his contract, had an horrendous injury record and had never won a league title. This was about 4 years ago as well, way before the bumper new TV deal came in. Other than van Persie the last time somebody scored over 20 goals and then moved on the next season was Darren Bent about 6 years ago and he went for what ended up as £24 million to Aston Villa. I know Vardy's 29 but given how much the market has moved on, us only seeing £15 million for him is a self-inflicted kick in the bollocks. That's what annoys me the most about this. If Vardy wants to go then fine, but we are getting a shit deal out of it.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Remember when Cambiasso left, everyone thought it was over then... just saying, got to be positive again... walsh knows what he is doing
dylanlegend Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 That's what annoys me the most about this. If Vardy wants to go then fine, but we are getting a shit deal out of it. Is Rudkin the new Ed Woodward?
Guest Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 I had Cambiasso on the back of my shirt, don't regret it, an absolute legend He chose to walk out on us too. And he didn't even help win us a title.
foxes161 Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 that release clause was in there to screw us over..thats what i hate about vardy...he knew what he was doing adding this in
