Kitchandro Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 It's the 1st time he's been approached by a bigger club, throwing the £ notes at him. I respect what he's done for the club but "legends" don't just jump ship straight away. Vardy didn't win the league by himself, we won it as a team No club legend has ever won anything 'by himself'. I know people are upset, and yes maybe they're right to feel betrayed, but let's not kid ourselves by saying the top scorer (and probably the most important player) from our only title winning team isn't a club legend.

peach0000 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Can't he be a Judas and a club legend at the same time? Shilton seems to get away with it. Most people will consider him a club legend regardless, those that don't immediately will over time I reckon.
Steve Earle Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Make no mistake this is a very serious bid from Arsenal. They're offering him £130,000 a week. We need to match that to make him stay. I'm not doubting your intel Bert, but why? Why, given everything that Vardy has said (not motivated by money, band of brothers, owes the club, here to stay) not to mention done, why do you believe "we need to match that to make him stay"? Plainly yet another new contract fro him is in the pipeline, and if what we hear about Kasper's contract is true, the weekly wage for Vards would be over £100k a week. He'd leave all that he has here for an extra £20k or so a week? Really?
Kitchandro Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Latest is its looking like a £29mn transfer which would be very difficult to turn down unless Vardy was desperate to stay but I'm sure an extra £2mn a year is enough for anyone to be happy to move on. That's why people going on about loyalty are talking out of their arse, if anyone here was offered an extra £2mn to do the same job with better benefits elsewhere I can guarantee everyone here would say where do I sign? But I don't play professional football. If I did, and I had as much money as Vardy, of course I wouldn't see £2m as important as I would now; when I'm doing a shite job I'm not remotely passionate about or loved for. If somebody else makes this stupid comparison between professional football and normal jobs I might have to hunt them down and strangle them.

Personally think Kante was the most important player but can't agree with calling someone a club legend who can't wait to move clubs ( if he does move )

If he is going, it's due to the lure of a huge club, increased chance of success, and wanting to live the high life in London. Him, and particularly his wife, seem desperate to become a poverty version of posh and Becks. There will be a better chance of that at Arsenal than Leicester
foxinsox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Been saying this since his Cov days Been out all year with a nasty knee injury though. Likely to go again, like poor Matty James.
49er Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Andre Gray please. As well as Gray, bring in Dzeko from Roma and Janssen from AZ Alkmaar

ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Any mileage in potential part exchange with oxlade chamberlain? I hope not but just a thought. If Vardy goes then I wouldn't be against Ox coming this way

If somebody else makes this stupid comparison between professional football and normal jobs I might have to hunt them down and strangle them. Vardy won't have that much money compared to other professional footballers because he didn't start earning big money until this year really. Prior to this what was he on, £10k at most when he joined us, maybe up to £30k until he signed his latest deal? That gives him maybe a couple of million in take home, a bit more in bonuses, which isn't much when it has to keep an expensive wife and family in luxury for the next 50 years+.
CosbehFox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Vardy's WAG pretty much implying he's gone. I feel sick to my stomach. I hate Arsenal so much. She's on the front of Sun's Sunday supplement tomorrow hahahaha
Buzzell Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Suppose I better change my avatar and my phone wallpaper.
m4DD0gg Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Feel sorry for all the punters vardy shirts sold on the new kit.
Wymsey Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Just shows now that even success doesn't guarantee anything in football.
